Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
Provocative, appealing and controversial.......2006-08-02
Fomenko has succeeded to convincingly demonstrate the misconception about what "history" factually is... It is fiction and -like we can read and judge for ourselves- no science. It indeed is "make belief" only. I "discovered" Fomenko while studying the "old" history of Al Andaluz, Spain. Having found too many contradictions in available data, having seen too many forgeries as to pretend the importance of christianity for its decline, I ventured out to find Fomenko, who convinced me that we know little if anything for sure of the epoch before the XI-century. However, the integration of the Arabic-Islamic cultural history into the heavily distorted Western fails... There are some attempts to fit "the budding new religion" (Islam) into Fomenko's scheme, but they are too weak to be taken seriously and too often focussing on Turkey as the region where things started to influence the West, which is untrue at all.
Islam certainly was no "new religion" in the X-century. That the highly cultivated Al Andaluz ruler Mohammed-I could have been "mirrored" down in time into some myth about the "illiterate" founder of Islam itself is highly speculative. Nevertheless, Fomenko convinces me about the processes that were involved in forging a christian history. Intriguing and controversial as his books are, I recommend them as to rethink our current position in time and space and simply verify what was claimed. It is a "good" book, but not for bedtime reading... Mundus vult decipi, the world wants to be cheated. Fomenko's readers will understand why.
pharaohs lived in the 3rd century AD.......2006-02-16
Traces of white wine were found in Tutankhamen's tomb however there were no record of white wine in Egypt until the 3rd century AD, 1600 years after the young pharaoh died according to the traditional chronology. http://www.newscientist.com/channel/being-human/mg18925395.400
It can be interpreted as a contribution towards New Chronology theory that pharaohs lived in the 3rd century AD.

Book Description
Judith Hanson Lasater has been teaching an annual yoga retreat at Feathered Pipe Ranch, in Helena, Montana, for 28 years. When she learned that one of her students was collecting Lasater’s thoughts — which she called “Judith’s aphorisms” — Lasater decided to collect them in this book. Featuring one thought for each day of the year, along with a suggested practice, these brief, powerful insights reflect the author’s knowledge of classic yoga philosophy and years of experience. Humorous, inspiring, and surprisingly down-to-earth, they guide seekers both on and off the yoga mat. These aphorisms address love, asana, fear, trust, expectations, pranayama, suffering, laughter, presence, the Yoga Sutra, and much more. They emphasize the experience of being present to one's self and to life’s ups and downs — day by day, breath by breath, moment by moment. A Year of Living Your Yoga is a gentle invitation to readers to know themselves on a deeper level.

Book Description
Sri T. Krishnamacharya (1888-1989) was the most influential figure in the last 100 years in the field of yoga. Many of today's best-known yoga teachersincluding his brother-in-law B. K. S. Iyengar, his son T. K. V. Desikachar, and Pattabhi Jois, founder of Ashtanga yogastudied with him and modeled their own yoga styles after his practice and teaching. Yet, despite his renowned status, Krishnamacharya's wisdom has never before been made completely available, just as he taught it. Now, in The Complete Book of Vinyasa Yoga, Srivatsa RamaswamiKrishnamacharya's longest-standing student outside his own familypresents his master's teachings of yogasanas in unprecedented detail. Drawing upon his 33 years of direct study, beginning in 1955 and continuing nearly until his teacher's death, Ramaswami presents more than nine hundred poses and variations in logically structured sequences, precisely describing Krishnamacharya's complete Vinyasakrama system. Along with every movement of each yoga posture, he covers the proper breathing techniques for each posesomething no other book also derived from Krishnamacharya's teaching does. Nearly 1,000 full-color photographs and a 60-minute audio CD are also featured in this authoritative landmark presentation of the study practiced by the "grandfather of modern yoga."
Customer Reviews:
Vinyasa yoga, a comprehensive approach of a long tradition.......2006-11-06
A very mature and comprehensive work on yoga, suitable for beginners as well as advanced students. The suggestions how to procede are sound and based on experience. The cd joint with the yoga sutras is beautiful and makes you feeling like in India.
Confused Introduction!.......2006-10-31
There is a big confusion in the introduction pages from the auther.
He spent more time on criticizing the other students of his guru and how in-effective their styles are.
It looks very unprofessional to declare all of them are not good and only his own style is good, since they have all been taught by the same guru.
Does he mean, his guru was wrong in the beginning when teaching Iyengar, Jois or his own son? If so, did his guru find the right way of teaching only at the end?
How come there are more different sytles of yoga from the same guru and they are criticizing each other?
complete book for yoga.......2006-10-02
I am a starter for yoga and this bok is very easy to understand. This book is complete with photos and explaination in depth.
Fantastic.......2006-08-25
The book is really complete. Have hundreds of photos. I am a yoga teacher and this book is a great compendium of unumbered series of vinyasas.
Extraordinary Effort!.......2005-11-21
I own this book and I have had the privilege of learning yoga from Mr. Ramaswami even though it was for a brief period of time. The book can not substitute for him, as he is an exceptional teacher but being in the United States, I treasure the book as he has done an extraordinary job in presenting yoga as he has learnt from his Guru. This book is a must have for anyone who wishes to even learn a little about Yoga. Don't go for other superficial books when such a rare gem is made available for us.

Customer Reviews:
Great for teachers.......2006-09-29
This is a great book for teachers. It has wonderful meditations, beautiful flow series and good medical info too. It is a well rounded book and a great addition to my prenatal library.
Covers prenatal yoga and provides lots of general info, too!.......2003-07-18
As a prenatal yoga instructor, I find this book to be very user-friendly, full of photos and illustrations, some original stuff that you won't find in every book on yoga for pregnancy. It contains not only programs suitable for the three trimesters, but also yogic breathing practices, simple ways to incorporate kegels, pelvic floor visualizations, a guided relaxation, very basic info on the chakras, nutritional information, tips for relieving backache and performing daily activities with optimal alignment. The Teasdill book is very pleasing to the eye, enjoyable and easy to read. I just love the "Salute to the earth - growing into gravity" series of poses. This series alone contains some positions useful during labor and delivery as well as in preparation for the big day. There is also a page of positions specifically useful for labor. There are other visualizations and meditation techniques suggested for use leading up to and during the birthing process, general info on the stages of labor and reminders of what may serve you during each stage. There is also a chapter on life after birth which includes yoga postures for recovery as well as general info on breastfeeding, nutrition, what to expect emotionally. This book does include a bit of yoga philosophy. The last lines of the book state, "Yoga is not just a system of stretching and meditation: yoga is awareness, yoga is living in the present, yoga is union, synthesis and integrity. Yoga is life." Preparing for birth requires more than just physical preparation. A lot of birthing is mental, being able to stay present for each contraction and rest between rather than creating more tension and pain in the body in anticipation of what may come, "complaining mind." The mindfulness and awareness of body and mind that come from the meditative aspects of performing the poses or sitting in meditation are valuable beyond the physical preparation. If natural birth interests you, you might want to check out Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Natural Childbirth. Another good book on prenatal yoga is Janet Balaskas' Preparing for Birth with Yoga. Wendy Teasdill's book has a more informal, conversational feel to it than the Balaskas book, if that is of interest. Makes is very easy and fun to read!
Well-organized, useful text ... a must for pregnant practice.......2003-02-27
Even as a yoga instructor, I found myself at a loss when trying to structure pregnancy practices. I picked up this book and found that it is very well put-together. It describes poses well and tells you when it is appropriate to do them, trimester-wise.
The book does allude to some yogic philosophy (NOT religion; yoga is a science, not a religion), but for a serious practitioner of yoga this is actually good -- so many yoga books and videos don't even bother to acknowledge yoga's long-standing history!
Step by Step Yoga for Pregnancy.......2000-06-24
Terrific book. Very easy to follow and logically organized by trimester. Sound advice and good for everyone from the beginner to the very experienced. Gets a bit into the "religion" of yoga, however is still a great resource for the every day pregnant woman looking for a good ~ safe workout. I highly recommend this book!

Customer Reviews:
Great Book.......2000-02-08
I read this book after delving into "home yoga" for about 3 months. As is probably common, I was doing many of the poses only semi-correctly. There is a lot of reading to be done here, but there is incredible detail to help anyone elicit the poses correctly. Dworkis also divides each pose for beginner, moderate, and advanced. After a particularly tough day of running and 5 sets of tennis, I followed the poses and felt refreshed, relaxed, and loose afterwards. The workout is also really only 20 minutes (after learning the poses) and fun to complete as well as challenging when striving for a more advanced level.
As an exercise physiologist certified fitness instructor..........2000-01-24
As an exercise physiologist and certified group fitness instructor/personal trainer I highly recommend this book. I have been hesitant to try yoga because of the contraindicated moves (called poses), however this book makes the necessary modifications so that the program is safe, yet still effective and fun. I have looked at many yoga books, and even more videos and classes and this is my favorite. I actually recorded (audio) myself reading some of the descriptions of the poses so that I could do the entire sequence with someone to "cue" me with the appropriate instructions!

Book Description
For anyone intimidated by crowded yoga classes, complicated textbooks, headstands, or simply touching their toes, Yoga for Real People offers a year of classes that progress from beginning to intermediate to advanced levels of practice. A down-to-earth guide for yoga teachers and students alike, this book is illustrated throughout with more than 160 photographs correctly demonstrating 100 poses. Each lesson begins with a discussion of an important yogic concept, before presenting a posture to build flexibility and strength, followed by a meditation to inspire mental relaxation and spiritual growth. As students build a routine, they learn to first "do" the postures, then "experience" the postures, and finally "become" the postures. The appendix includes a complete list of the postures along with a helpful summary of the benefits. Jan Baker's gentle and encouraging style teaches readers how to listen to their bodies, how to stretch without strain, and, most of all, how to find joy in all things. As she writes in the introduction, "If you want to live longer, be healthier, more peaceful - yoga has the answer. How long does it take to accomplish this? That's up to you."
Customer Reviews:
I LOVE it! And I've been practicing yoga for over 20 years........2006-03-03
I've had many yoga teachers over the past 22 years - but Jan Baker is the best one yet. What I enjoy most is having a regular schedule of postures. Having this book is like having my own private instructor right in the comfort of my home. I get together with 3 friends every Sat. morn. We really love the meditations, too. This is the best book I ever had on yoga.
Definately 5 stars! Exceptionally Good.......2004-02-21
This book was recommended to me by my yoga teacher. But now, I feel as though I have TWO yoga teachers! As I read the book and do the postures I feel as though Jan Baker is right with me, guiding me through each step. And I love her meditations at the end of each lesson. I've been a follower of yoga for many years and have read numerous books on the subject...but never one that encompassed every aspect of yoga. Ms Baker's book is extremely precise. I love the way it's written...as thought it's just for me alone. It's a book that will benefit beginners...all the way up to yoga teachers (like mine)!

Book Description
With THE YOGA YEAR, your yoga routine can be different every day of the year. Immerse yourself in thoughts of grounding and warming in winter as you focus on an image of a mountain and of grasses bending in the wind. Or imagine yourself a jug pouring out in autumn with asanas focusing on inverted poses and contemplation of the concepts of fullness and emptying. And at the close of the year let quiet, stillness, peace, and oneness envelop you as you envision a calm lake with a full moon reflecting on the waters and practice the sitting lotus and savasana relaxation.
Customer Reviews:
Description a little misleading.......2005-10-10
I was really excited when I read the review/description about this book because I thought it was going to give detailed information about what asanas are good for particular seasons of the year. The book turned out to be a 12 month guide to learn poses and history about yoga - very useful information, but not exactly what I was looking for. The description of how to get into the poses was very detailed, but as someone who already knows how to do the poses, I found some of the pictures confusing or just incorrect. I would recommend this book for a beginner who wants to slowly immerse themselves in the history of yoga and gradually learn new poses. However, if you are looking for a book that really relates each pose to the corresponding season and gives the benefits of doing certain poses during certain times of the year (as I was) then this book is not for you.
