When it came time to record the work, Goldsby called on Robin Spielberg, who not only produced Goldsby's debut release, but who has recorded thirteen albums of her own piano music, selling over 400,000 units in the USA. Twilight was recorded in Cologne, Germany at Topaz Studios. Twilight contains fifteen original compositions for solo piano, inspired by many touching life-experiences: Robin Goldsby's journey to Europe ("One Woman's Journey"), the birth of her daughter ("The Light In Julia's Eyes"), summers spent on an island ("Nantucket Solitude") and dreams, hope and love ("Following Your Light," "When Stars Dance," "Miss You Most of All"). The winning team of Spielberg and Goldsby promises to make this newest release an enduring acoustic piano classic. She can be heard in the main hall of the castle every Friday and Saturday evening between seven and nine, playing the cocktail hour for Restaurant Dieter Müller, a Michelin three-star restaurant located on the premises. On the literary front, Piano Girl (Backbeat Books) Goldsbys first book, hit the bookstands in June, 2005. With the subtitle, "Lessons in Life, Music, and the Perfect Blue Hawaiian," the book is a collection of autobiographical short storiessome funny, some poignantthat explore the life of a working musician. A giddy mixture of droll hilarity and pathos, Piano Girl is an entertaining and enlightening memoir of music and life as a cocktail pianist. The book provides a rare glimpse into the comedies, tragedies, and mundane miracles witnessed from the business side of the keyboard.
