Before the advent of the Japanese school of Progressive rock music during the Eighties, represented by GERARD, OUTER LIMITS or PAGEANT, a certain number of local bands of great interest were already active. Amongst them, the name of SHINGETSU was on the top of the list. Led by the majestic voice of the charismatic singer Makoto KITAYAMA, its music was filled with a level of sophistication and virtuosity not so common at this time, as well as great Mellotron parts.
