Marshall Crenshaw's brother (and former drummer) Robert makes his solo debut with this likable 10-cut disc. Full Length's eclecticism is similar to Marshall's, with Robert dipping into popabilly that stakes tent space somewhere between Ricky Nelson and a low-tech Cars sound ("All I Want to Do Is Be with You," "She's Not You"); Bacharach stylings (a cover of "This Guy's in Love with You" as well as the brothers' own "Everyone's in Love with You") and an atmospheric singer-songwriter moment ("When the Rain Comes Down") help him make a broader claim. If Marshall's meld of love-struck sentiments and bittersweetness appeals to you, you'll find this worthwhile as well. --Rickey Wright
