About the Artist
I would say the best way to describe David’s Music would be Heavy Rock. Right on the verge of Heavy Metal, but kicking out that ol’ foot stomping, loud guitar, Hammond organ Hard Rock. A veteran of the Metro Detroit night club scene since the age of 15, David has taken his music career very seriously. Owner of his own record label, publishing company and recording studio, David is well on his way to success with or without the major companies. David was raised with music through his father, Neil Andrew Cline who played with the great Danny Zella & The Zellrocks in the late 50’s early 60’s. David’s father was also a very versatile musician and played many instruments. Growing up, there were electric 6 and 12 string guitars, an electric bass, an organ, piano and other various instruments and recording equipment available for David to experiment with. David remembers being very young when his uncles would come to their house for what he calls family jam-a-thons. David would do his best to keep up. Surely a very influencing and great learning experience that led him to where he is today. David’s first EP album "A Fit of Rage" was released on vinyl only in the late 80’s. Distributed nationally by Important Records, it sold very well in Japan and Europe. Years later the album was remixed, remastered, one song dropped and two new songs added, then released on a CD called "A Fit of Rage(remix plus two)" and is once again gaining popularity nationally. The music on this CD has been compared to Iron Maiden/Black Sabbath style. The lyrics of this album being very negative and political. Such as the song "Enforcer" which is about police of the future abusing their power. The song "False Reality" was written when David was working in a steel stamping plant. Anyone that has worked in a factory could relate to these lyrics in one way or another. The song "Metal Rules" has to do with his dislike for top 40 music. As well as the repetition of what is played on commercial Radio. David’s second album is a full length LP called "Malefic Influence." Released on cassette and vinyl, it too was distributed by Important Records for a short time nationally. Due to the small amount of vinyl pressed and distributed, these vinyl albums have been seen selling for $50.00 to $100.00 dollars a copy in record stores and show’s all over the world.. Now this album is also remastered to CD and is getting alot of well deserved attention. Performing more keyboard tracks such as the Hammond organ, this album has been said to have a Deep Purple/Yngwie Malmsteen feel to it. Three of the songs on this release were actually written before the A Fit of Rage album. Such as track two, "Governmental Brainwash". Another political song about corrupt government. ZRock (WDZR) in Detroit had given him major airplay and later released the song, "Governmental Brainwash" on a compilation CD called "ZRock Best of Detroit stuff Volume 1". Track 5, " Picking up the Pieces" is about animal rights and developer’s stripping the land for subdivisions, strip mall’s and condo’s forcing the animals out. Track 3,"Crazy Dream" was written when he was only 17 about a girl that moved from California to his country neighborhood. " Track 8, "A Matter of Time" has been charting very high on Music Monster Radio Network. (no. 1 as of 5/1/2000) as well as getting airplay on WRIF 101.1 homegrown show in Detroit. Many tracks from this CD have been getting continuous airplay from indiemusic.com, m4radio.com, electric basement.com, amp11.com and many other net stations. Most of David’s third album "Thorough Scrutiny" was written and recorded a year after the release of the Malefic Influence album but not released at that time. David has recently re-recorded, added and touched up some of the tracks. It has finally been released and is now available on CD. This CD is much longer then his previous releases with kind of a Frank Zappa approach to the production. Songs such as "Queen of the Skyways" which

Product Description
In spite of the extremely competitive music industry, American guitar wizard David Neil Cline is well on his way to global popularity. With the new release of his third solo efforts, "Thorough Scrutiny" released on his own record label "Gazochtahagen Records"; David has once again proved to the world that he can rock with the big guys. Taking a kind of Frank Zappa approach to the production of this CD, David has intertwined the songs with his own blend of comedy, strange keyboard effects and whatnot. This really makes this CD more interesting and less typical compared to the average hard rock album that have a pause between songs. When playing the first track "Ol’ DC intro" you can plainly see what I am talking about. Then the second track "Take it or Leave it" blasts into a very cool guitar riff followed by an appealing, grinding Hammond organ rhythm and great harmony vocals with a nice hook. If it weren’t for the fact that the song is five minutes and thirty-three seconds long, it would be a great addition and blessing to mainstream radio. The third track "The Fate of Pain" starts with a melodic, acoustic guitar intro. Then blasts into a loud and powerful Guitar rhythm with once again cool vocals obviously written about an X relationship. Anyone that love’s great heavy rock is sure to be hooked by the end of this song. Track four "Life Under Glass" is another sure foot stomper.

Track five "Queen of the skyways" written about the crash of the Hindenburg in the late 30's, is another very catchy tune that will have you bobbing your head and singing along in no time. In fact all but track six "Morpheus", which is a short but nicely done acoustic guitar instrumental, the whole CD is very up tempo. David’s lead guitar work is fast, furious and wickedly brilliant.

What keyboards are on the CD sound very professional. David’s vocals are very strong and in good key. JD Donnelly’s Bass work is very creative and really adds to the songs. Drums handled by Dexter Arney and Jeff Giovannangeli, both excellent drummers in my book.

I would have to say after hearing David’s previous releases; this is surely his finest work to date. Bringing you fourteen tracks at fifty-three minutes and twenty-nine seconds of total listening pleasure. As David continues to get recognition all over Europe, Japan and Southern US, only time will tell as to how far this independent musician will take his music career. Perhaps paving the way for all other hard working, well deserved, talented musicians; ignored by the major labels.
