About the Artist
Dirt Merchant
From the under belly of Fort Worth to the rat race in Dallas a chance meeting of a drummer and a bass player spawned a new breed of heavy rock. After many years of pounding out drumbeats Bernardo McKinney has acquired a style all his own. Coupled with a rock sold bass player in C.W. Stapleton and a 5-year chemistry between the two, their distinct Fort Worth sound was born. Needing an inimitable guitar player and singer, Bernardo and C.W. looked to long time local musician and friend, Kevin Bradford, to fill the gaps. Fueled by the blue-collar way of life and only one life to live, the Dirt Merchant trio has vowed to finish what they started.
In February 2001 Dirt Merchant hit the studio after months in the jam room composing music & writing lyrics, finishing the sessions with a 7-song effort entitled the redeye induction. Although this is there first recording, anyone listening to this release can hear the unrestrained ferocity in their music. Dirt Merchant continues to focus their attention on relentless work and habitual devotion to writing better songs. The trio plans to work as hard as possible to expand its venues and catch the publics attention. As to the death of every era of music there must be a beginning. Dirt Merchant plans to be at the forefront of this beginning - twisting and shaping things to come.
