Editorial Reviews
Product Description
"Jeff ""YOCHK'O"" SEFFER always created varied and interesting works during his long of career. In each of his records, the former saxophone player of MAGMA and ZAO deeply shows his Hungarian roots in a jazz-rock close to ZAO, but with free tendencies. ""Chromophonie I & II"" compiles the two volumes, originally released in 1982 and 1984, with the notable support the Hungarian violinist Lajos HORVATH. On ""Magyar Etno"", Yochk'o SEFFER unites popular music from Hungary and a free and dissonant jazz. With ""Yog I - Pitchipoy"", he keeps on playing his NEFFESH MUSIC, as flaming as ever, with the development of complex and structured themes where his frenetic saxophone blends with the other instruments. It can be described as the crossing point between works like ""Ghigoul"" or ""Chromophonie"". ""Protype"" is a record from 1989 with Barre PHILLIPS (acoustic bass), Barry ALTSCHUL (drums) and Debora SEFFER (violin) in the ethnic jazz style."
