Southern Cross They came from all over and from every background imaginable. They were men who loved hard, played hard and died with their unbending will still intact. These are the sort of men who make up the group Southern Cross. They come from all different walks of life to join together for a common cause. Through their music they express what cannot be said in words "We are proud of our heritage and will continue to try to make a difference for the better with our music. Try to find the deep meaning in our songs, it’s there in everyone of them". The approach that Southern Cross, who were originally called Renegade, has taken has been one of long suffering, considering that when the concept was developed was during the height of the "Disco Craze".
Through patients and a lot of rip roaring , hell raisin nights the dream that one day music would return to it’s roots endured. The men that make up Southern Cross are as varied as the backgrounds from whence they came. Ranging from the Garden State of New Jersey and the foot hills of Tennessee to the swamps of Louisiana and the bayous of southeast Texas they have a common cause, play music for the people that relates to everyday life and the joys and sorrows that accompany it. Formed in early 1986 under the name Renegade, now known as the band Southern Cross, had enjoyed instant success in the dingy little roadhouses that they usually called home. They broke into the major markets in Texas with a vengeance and drive that had not been seen since a certain "Little Ole Band From Texas" had hit the big time. Based on these facts, we feel that it’s now Southern Cross’s turn. Southern Cross is a group of dedicated Ass-Kickin Southern Rockers that will steal your heart and blow your mind!
