The band: it was formed by ex-members of Fromage, a famous japanese band of the eighties which released two albums before disbanding. Cinema’s first album, "The seven stories", was released in 1997. "Into the state of flux" is the second one.The album: Three potential keyboardists, female vocals (in an opera style), a violin player: Cinema is a perfect example of the symphonic talent and sensitivity of japanese progressive rock. Think of Pageant, Mr Sirius, Outer Limits, add a touch of new-age music, and you’ll have a good idea of Cinema’s music. These neo-classic pieces, sung (japanese lyrics, English translation in the booklet) or instrumental, are masterpieces of delicate melodies and refined arrangements, enhanced by slow and solemn rythms. Just beautiful.
