Jim Elkington is the man behind The Zincs and was once a member of venerated British bands Sophia and Elevate. His backing band includes members of The Fruit Bats, Bobby Conn, and The Ancient Greeks. "Dimmer", his Thrill Jockey debut, includes guest contributors Susan Voelz of Poi Dog Pondering and Fred Longberg-Holm. It showcases a variety of styles, from 60's English and American folk, to acoustic material, to layered blends of guitars and electronics.
