From the Artist
Space 34 was recently voted as best nightclub in the United States and with good reason. The schedule of deejays that perform week in and week out at this establishment reads like a club hoppers wet dream. Space 34 never lacks substance when it comes to having the best deejays from around the world. However, to maintain their grip as one of the dominant players in the club scene, they have to also rely on their main pillar of strength, their own resident deejays. This is where the truth strength of any club will rely on for its success. In this case, Roland has been working at the helm since Spaces inception and he has been heralded with unparalleled fortune for being a mainstay.
Nowadays, he educates partygoers weekly with his "Lunar Sessions" whereby he brings forth the best House Music all around; from cool and sexy to funky and tribal.
Product Description
"Lunar Sessions" captures the essence of what is cool House Music. Begins with persuasive, smooth tracks like Semis "Hetero Sapians" whereby he cleverly mixes in Echomens "Perpetual" in acapella form. He then makes the transition to a much more funkier sound in Sam ULs "Generate". The best transition though, in this compilation, is when he mixes Speaker Peoples "State of Mind" (feat. JC Turek) and Space Sectors "Who Am I" (feat. Adele Holness). The shift of sounds made during this particular mix is flawless and with Ms. Holness haunting voice in the background, it is certainly a 3 AM eternal moment!
Roland then proceeds to get a little funkier with Steve Bugs "November Girl". Now that is a track that certainly grabs on to you unsuspectingly. This Electro House hybrid is then juxtaposed with a track that sounds more like an Acid House track from the late 1980s, Sasha Vykhovskis "Unknown Element". Yet, just when you think that this compilation is heading back to old school, he then shifts gears and goes Tribal with Luke Chables "Sealers Cove". Now, that track is awesome.
This compilation does its job as it captures the essence of what true House Music sounds like on the dance floor.
