Over the last year, Josh One has become a recognized name amongst tastemaker DJs and music lovers around the globe. His presence has become ubiquitous in the electric electronic market since the release of Awaken the first hip-hop record released in 5.1 surround sound. The first single "Contemplation," vaulted to the top of the UK and European DJ charts with the King Britt remix that wouldn't quit. Everyone from the Masters at Work to Danny Tenaglia played it to their devotees. UK Magazine The Face named the single one of 2002's tunes of the year. The track has appeared on numerous DJ charts, mix CDs and compilations worldwide. On the heels of "Contemplation's" fire, Josh headed back into the studio to collaborate with underground favorite MCs Aloe Blacc from Emanon and Mikah9 from Freestyle Fellowship to create a new EP. As the tracks were being finished, DJs began lining up at this year's Winter Music Conference waiting to bless the new grooves. The four tracks are a prelude to teh fourthcoming Fall 2003 album, Narrow Patch, which will appear in 5.1 surround sound with visuals on DVD-Audio.
