Editorial Reviews
From URB Magazine
Hey Tresor, whats going on? Are you guys getting soft on us? Youre releasing albums of full-on funky house, stinking of disco and old-school techno? I want more! The Japanese techno duo responsible for this mess is Chester Beatty, part female, part religion teacher, all funky. Theyve shown up on releases by Disq and Cloned Vinyl, and this 14-track disc marks their debut for the legendary German label. Much of whats on here is like snippets of all the raves you were at in the 90s, mashed together with some grade-A production. Sure, its not extremely clever, possibly even a guilty pleasure, but I cant recall the last time I heard 150 BPMs, icy sweeps and "whoop whoops" sound this good. I want to take E. I want to break out the glow sticks. I want to guzzle 15 energy drinks and go hump the speaker. This is everything they told you disappeared with raves. Only it didnt. Its here and it just bit you in the ass.
