Holding it down in the Windy Town for more than a decade with an enviable resume of residencies, production credits and frequent flier miles, Diz bangs it in a rough, funky style that’s pure Chicago. Eschewing the smooth, more soulful side of the sound, he cranks up the bottom-end and is never at a loss for a booty-moving bass line. On this second edition of the Decks and the City series, he makes that point in ample abundance.Taking the time to highlight fellow Chicago house-heads and their extended family, this mix is powered by tracks from Joshua, JT Donaldson, Mark Farina and Lance DeSardi. Setting the stage with Sysco’s "Composer," he slowly and methodically turns up the heat, making sure not to burn out the listener (or the dance floor). Instead, he keeps things at a low, sexy boil before climaxing furiously with Joshua’s Fabolous-sampling rocker "Hustlin’."
