About the Artist
SPACE GHOST RECORDS & PUBLISHING, a hot new Independent Label based out of Los Angeles, releases its premier compilation CD entitled: “Astro Love,” with inspiring performances from the three artists currently signed to the label.

Artists: Willy “T” and the SPI
H.D. Fleming
Ellis and the Energi Source

Heading up the roster…Willy “T”, former Capitol Records recording artist and founder of SPACE GHOST, lends his extraordinary vocal, writing, producing and arranging skills to eight of the ten songs on the CD.

Ironically, this talented trio began their careers individually then later formed a unit and toured the Western states performing a Motown Revue before deciding to record their own music.

Willy “T” and Ellis, brothers from a large Texas family, grew up in church watching their father preach and sing the gospel. As soon as they were old enough they started singing in the choir then later in school talent shows and eventually formed bands of their own.

H.D. (Harvey) FLEMING, who hails from Louisiana, also started as a very young child. Influenced by his father’s immense collection of jazz, Harvey began playing piano at the age of 7.

After migrating to California (Willy “T” in the Bay area, Ellis and HD in Los Angeles) these three multi-talented artists pooled their collective talents subsequent to a brief recording stint at Capitol for Willy “T” which allowed him the experience of working with such musicians as Tony Coleman, Grammy award Composer of the song, “1000 Ways.”

This union spawned a sound that Willy “T” likes to refer to as an “Oceanic” blend of R&B, Funk, Jazz, Gospel, Dance and Soul. Truly a “Family Affair,” Willy “T” duets with wife, Marsha, on the hip cut… “School Yard Fun,” from the exciting CD.

Ellis, affectionately dubbed “The Word Man” because of his vivid lyrics, attributes his smooth melodic style to Smokey Robinson, his aggressive stage presence to James Brown and aspires to be the “World’s Greatest Living Poet Since Smokey Robinson”

“Astro Love” was co-produced by Barry Fasman famed Platinum Award composer/ arranger/producer of The Bay City Rollers and Air Supply among others.

Willy “T” states… “Our overview is that we believe in Solar Unification and we hope our music will carry the message of peace, joy and pleasure to the world.”

Product Description
Music Description By James T. Cameron, Independent Music Publicist

New CD release, ASTRO LOVE, is a compilation of songs by three separate artists on the Space Ghost Records Label. A musical analysis of each artist follows:

WILLY “T” & the SPI - Willy T’s songs consist of intricate instrumental and vocal layers driven by strong syncopated drum patterns and simple but funky bass lines punctuated by sharp rhythmic horn licks. Vocally, Willy T exhibits an expansive range and incredible spontaneous agility and color. His lyrics express universal love, laughter, dance, sex, good times and uplifting messages directed at cultivating self- esteem.

Willy’s music has been compared to the likes of Smokey Robinson, Prince, Earth Wind & Fire, and The Isley Bros.

H.D. FLEMING – H.D. is a crossover Jazz/R&B artist. His songs boast of flawless composition and strong baritone vocals. H.D.’s songs, though dominated by his excellent Jazz keyboard skills, manage to expertly blend a heavy dose of R&B and Pop bass lines and drum patterns.

Vocally, H.D. will remind some of a “funky” Lou Rawls or a more soulfully expressive Johnny Mathis.

Ellis writes lyrics that are like a mini video. Like his idol, Smokey Robinson, Ellis writes songs about life, love, relationships and truth that are just as visual.

Instrumentally, Ellis composes songs rich with string harmonies, funk bass lines and rhythm patterns, horn parts reminiscent of the “Phoenix Horn Section,” and simple but beautiful and memorable “sing-a-long” melodies. His vocal delivery is straightforward and melodic without a lot of frills, a’la Smokey, Otis Redding, The Time and The Isley Bros.
