About the Artist
Third Option, a remarriage of language and music, is a new cyberpoetic fusion, combining techno, spoken word and classical style melodies. NQuit's longtime franchise act, M.C. Murph, brings his 10 years of production and hip-hop experience, adding improvisational talent and composition genius, and fuses them with the vivacious, ethereal presence of lyric and slam poet Tamara Nicholl, who has performed for seven years. Fusion and interplay among these intense performers is the name of the game here; a second honeymoon for sound and word...
Product Description
Frosted Mini Wheats is Third Option's first CD. FMW is 69 minutes non-stop sound, but every track is its own unique song. Songs often pick up reprises from previous songs. Dance beats at 110-130 beats per minute, classical style melodies, audio clips from movies, games, phone lines, etc. That's the basic logistic. As far as its dance, trance and techno elements, Frosted Mini Wheats is basically a reinvention of the wheel. As far as its melodic elements, it is a throw back to Beethoven and the like. It was originally the totally musical solo brainchild of M.C. Murph, NQuit's rap act who had done his own beats and production for 9 years. The story goes: Murph beat boxes in the car or on the plane or in the house when there's no stereo to listen to. Murph often drives for over an hour to commute. Murph beat-boxes non-stop. Murph decides to put together a CD full of non-stop beats. What a concept! Yes we're all aware its been done. But that's where FMW started. He dec! ides he wants to take a break from writing lyrics and starts the album out, intending to only use music. He gives a little and throws some samples down - after all he's always dug little clips and stuff. Track 8, "Still" is born when samples give way to Tamara Nicholl's poetic ecstactic voice, and boom, you have the real Third Option. FMW is the egg that spawned the thing.
