About the Artist
Marcel Gonzalez was always intrigued by anything electronically made especially those things audio in nature. He has always observed and often reproduced the sounds emitted from electronic hand-held games to coin-operated video games.

In the early 80s, he was attached to a Commodore 64 home computer, which he had chosen for his sound projects. With help from its state-of-the art Sound Interface Device chip, or SID, he created simple to complex sound effect generating programs for games. He also created a superb custom music player utilizing additional SIDs he interfaced to the computer himself (creating more a stereo-effect).

Around 1987 he stumbled onto something that caught his attention. He made a trip to the local record store with friends and inadvertently purchased a different cassette package. Up to that time he was listening to rock music, and strangely enough he never deviated from that style, until that special day.

As always on every trip to that record store, he reviewed the huge section of rock music. There was nothing interesting on that day so he began to browse other parts of the store for the first time. He approached a dimly lit corner with a small sign mounted on the wall that read "New Age". Marcel always had to leave a record store with a purchase. Without thinking he picked up the cassette with the most eye-catching cover art from that section.

Marcel knew that it definitively wasn't anything like a rock album. The cover art was too beautiful to fall into that class. It was obvious that he had no idea what "New Age" was, but the name and the cover art alone kept him interested enough to make the purchase. He recalls showing off the cassette package to his friends. They all thought it was a yet another rock artist's debut album.

What he bought was "Seven waves", the debut album of Suzanne Ciani: A beautiful woman who composed music using electronic synthesizers and computers. She ran a business making sound effects and music for commercial jingles and other projects, before she went ahead and released her debut album.

When he returned home and listened to it finally, he was totally in awe. Suzanne Ciani's music is comprised of electronic sounds, and beautifully created sounds at that. Each of her songs has an exclusive theme and whatever that theme is based on; a lonely sea, a lost love, or a majestic canyon, the music instantly transports you there. He soon found out what New Age music was all about, and that took Marcel's sound fascinations to the next level. The following few weeks he brought home more Suzanne Ciani albums and several albums from John Tesh, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, and other New Age artists. Ultimately that style of music influenced him into taking 8 years of music courses, which at the end inspired him to purchase electronic gear and make his own musical compositions.

Marcel now originally composes a unique style of music, mixing electronic theme-based New Age and contemporary dance. It is similar in style to the current electronic dance music genres, but more melodically absorbing and full of movement. The first project is his debut album titled "Symphonic Journeys", which is comprised of eight top-notch quality performances. His future project titled "Metamorphosis" is something he had always wanted to do through electronic music: A complete multi-performance album depicting one story line. All his music ideas or as he calls "visions", are founded from past and present experiences thorough his life, which should keep him busy for a very long time.

Product Description
