About the Artist
23Hz (producer, remixer, digital artist) started the CATFISH project in the spring of 1996. Linking up with the unique vocal talents of longtime hiphop collaborator Charles Anthony Reeve the experiment with the jungle blueprint began. It was the many long sessions during the 96 summer that sowed the first seeds of this incredible album. The dawn of 1997 played witness to the emergence of the live CATFISH phenomenon - five musicians + a hefty DAT full of drums standing proud with the likes of ADF, Up Bustle + Out , Nitin Sawney and DJ Hype ... A polyrhythmic soundscape of live instrumentation, vocals + studio technology has continued to evolve with the additions of the sharp + dynamic drumming of Alex G Lucas and the fluid engineering perfection of Andy Oakley. It is now that CATFISH unleash their debut album. "SUBSPACE FREQUENCIES" presents a four year progression of the sounds of CATFISH.
