About the Artist
Universe Neo is a Chicago based hip-hop artist who has worked to build Chicago's ever evolving hip-hop music scene. He has been invovled in the production and writing of hip-hop music and lyrics since 1992, and has collaborated with several groups such as the Garden Foundation, Swamburger, and Under Mind's Shade. Determined to keep hip-hop's evolution progressive, Universe Neo takes his influences from traditional hip-hop music and adds his twists of jazz and soul, as well as drum'n bass and trip-hop to create his trademark sound. He uses this sound to compliment his lyrics, which thrive on his experiences expressed through metaphors and poetic word play. Although he has showcased his music for several years in the local and under ground hip-hop circuit, Blue Prints marks his first major release.
