About the Artist
Wonderful thing about music: you can get away with things you’d never be able to pull off in real life. Like keeping both a wife and a mistress, and actually getting them to like each other, understand each other, and finally, come together.

Rock was my wife (or should I say life?). Kiss, Zeppelin, and the Beatles seduced me, then Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden, and Radiohead convinced me to take the plunge. I loved my wife, and proved it by playing guitar in critically acclaimed Los Angeles rock bands Angel City Meat Co and Echoback; each of these outfits was lauded for its tight arrangements and stellar live performances.

When electronica sashayed past me, she turned my head with her enigmatic smile and rhythmic hip-sway. Mixes by biggies like John Digweed and Paul Oakenfold got to me first, then albums by the Chemical Brothers and Propellerheads and Lamb, then raves and clubs where the vibe was just airborne... I was falling in love with this sweet young thing, and I began to wonder what would happen if I introduced her to what I’d loved forever – the sweet sting of an electric guitar.

Foolhardy, yes, bringing home your mistress to meet your wife. But like the movie character who inspired my name, I’m not afraid to plunge headfirst into unknown territory. I love rock and I’m in love with electronica, and The Lost Recordings of Doctor Jones represents my first serious effort to combine the two. There’s tons of guitar and a lot of synth, laid on grooves deep enough for three.
