Customer Reviews:
The Best of the lot.......2007-06-23
I've been tinkering with Law of Attraction since the first week in March, 2007, and it's now June. There have been signs, my belief sometimes wavers. However, if there's one book I'd reccomend on the subject, it would be this one.
It's my favorite because there are clear and concise exercises you can do to raise your "vibration". Where some of the other books on the subject seem to expect one to be delusional and live in a fantasy world, this one is very helpful with the wording of your manifestations. And it's all written out quite simply, it's truly up to the reader to do the work.
Though I suggest reading some other books on "LOA" as well, this one is for me, the most pro-active.
great and pragmatic.......2007-06-23
I have a math background, esoteric is not my strongest suite.
While I found the Secret DVD totally unrealistic, and frankly a lot of BS, this book get to the point and provides you with practical exercises. It also challanges the concept of affirmations in a very interesting way.
If you are into the law of attraction in general this is a must read. The very best.
Good, EASY to read!.......2007-06-23
I think this book is very good. I've been reading it together with "The Secret" and I think that's the best way--to read them together! "The Secret" is a bit more philosophical and the "Law of Attraction" is the step by step approach to show you how to achieve the goals in "The Secret"
Fantastic book.......2007-06-22
This book was exactly what I was looking for and has provided a perfect roadmap for changing my life. It is formatted in a way that is easy to comprehend and the ideas are a breeze to implement. I have experienced countless examples of attracting what I want as a result of what I have read. It's empowering and perhaps shares what we have all "known" all along, but never gave attention to. I now realize what is important to focus on, if the desire is to exact positive change. Highly recommended read.
The Law.......2007-06-21
I was referred to this book from reading the reviews about "The Secret". What I really like about this book is that it teaches you the law of attraction period. No boundaries like some other programs. If you apply it, it really really works. Good Book!

Learn a lot.......2007-05-13
As a novice developer, this book put me on the right track without all the confusion and terms I would have never understood. It was simple to understand and after reading it, I felt like I knew a lot more. Very interesting and satisfying. Great reference guide all the way around.
very good all-around reference.......2004-03-01
I primarily work as a structural-architectural engineer and am becoming more and more involved in civil-site work. This handbook is exactly what I was looking for in terms of something that would quickly get me "up to speed" in the fundamentals of civil-site design.
Of course, no single book could (or should) be thought of as a substitute for the experience and mentoring received from seasoned professionals in a design office, but this one has enough technical explanation and details to get you going with confidence.
I choose this one over the Colley book (reviewed both before making purchase) as Land Development Handbook has more of the technical info that engineers would seek.
Difficult to follow!.......2003-12-16
I am in a class at Community College of Baltimore County and we are using this book at this time. Our whole class along with the Professor find this book to be very difficult to follow. The book constantly repeats itself making it extremely boring to read and is not fluent at all. They have examples that reference charts that are 3-5 pages apart from the problem being discussed the formulas you almost have to figure out for yourself how they are used and there are alot of typos.
I recomend burning this book!!!!!!!
A Must Have Pub.......2002-07-04
Ever since I purchased this publication I can't stop using it. Every civil engineer should have this as part of their reference library, regardless of your area of specialty. It provides macro to micro scale explanations of general processes, design applications, etc in a very readable format. More times than I can remember I have looked to this book for an answer or at least for some guidance and was throuroughly satisfied. No it is not a definitive reference for civil engineers but its' breadth and usability overshadows any technical shortcomings. If I had to have just one reference book for my area of practice (general civil), this would be it. Yeah, yeah, the "Standard Handbook for Civil Engineers" is a more definitive reference, but I usually find out what I need in this pub.
ps - Almost everyone of my fellow employees that has used the book has purchased their own, find someone you know who has a copy and check it out for yourself.
A Book for the Project Engineer Engaged in Land Development.......1999-10-12
This book is the first book that really reflects and addresses most of the "everyday" issues encountered in site design and land development. It has a practical application and includes most of the charts, tables and nomographs that are necessary to complete a given design procedure. It also provides very appropriate and helpful examples.

Drawn out and boring, hard to understand.......2007-05-13
I found Supervision of Police Personnel (6TH) to be pretty much drawn out and boring. It is painfully evident that the same information could have been relayed in a lot less then 400 boring pages. It was difficult to follow and often repetitive. A lot of detail was focused on irrelevant material. This was a difficult book for me to swallow (as a 12 year LEO), but it certainly rated high as a sleep aid for me.
Supervision of Police Personnel.......2007-03-10
It is a very good informational source for anyone that wants to pursue a promotion in police work. The review questions at the end of each chapter are convenient and helpful.
Don't pay for this book..........2006-11-29
Don't spend a dime...borrow it from a fellow Officer. I am a firm believer in capitalism, but these guys are really pushing the envelope. $99.00?! Nathan can keep the book!
Is the content any good? Yes, it is solid, however basic, leadership for Police Officers. But $99.00?! Go read something by Covey...it is a hell of a lot cheaper and far less boring.
Sleeping Material.......2006-11-10
This book is so dry and painful to look at. It's great to look at right before you go to bed to ensure a great nights sleep.
Some good info... but rambling and poorly written.......2006-10-23
This text is required reading for many taking police promotional exams. While there is some good information in it, it is rambling and poorly written. There are some indications that the book is not properly reviewed and edited before each new reprint. I hope the seventh edition is better and ties together the concepts clearly. There are several chapetes that are seperated but could easily dovetail into one. I found a 107 word run-on sentence (p.139), and it was by no means an exhaustive search -- there are many such examples. You can make it enjoyable to a degree by trying to find the number of times "catharsis" and "splendid" appear, but other than that, have your asprin bottle handy. I'd recommend a study guide such as Sgt. Walker recommends, or try to outline the thing yourself. Good luck.

A Great Introduction to Forensic Science!.......2003-05-13
As textbooks go this is without a doubt the best one that I have ever used. This book manages to explain complicated things such as DNA, and other techniques, and tests that are used during the course of an investigation in simple terms that are easy to understand. Especially if you are new to the idea of Forensic Science. Simple explanations, with colored pictures, diagrams, and case studies help show how different tests, evidence collection, and other aspects of Forensic's are used to help "catch" the bad guy. Again easy to read and understand. Well worth the purchase, you will learn a lot!

Book Description
PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION is one of the most widely adopted books for both undergraduate and graduate levels. The basis of the appeal is the three part framework of management, politics, and the law. Its theme is that all three perspectives are central to public administration, and that ignoring one or another leads to failures in both the practice of and in academic treatments of the field. This edition continues to refer to these three perspectives, but it divides management into two subsets: traditional and "the new public management".
Customer Reviews:
Difficult reading, very "wordy".......2006-12-15
This book was a required text for my PA course. It was very wordy and at times difficult to understand due to the repetitious content. I feel that there is probably a more straight forward style of writing than this one. Not for the student who is just beginning a public administration course, some back ground would be helpful if this text is to be used. However, it contains "Introduction" in its title. Well! I 'don't know about that? Great info, however, difficult reading.
mosgt boring book ever........2006-11-06
This is the most repetative book I have ever read. Just reading the intro to any chapter is all you really need, within the chaper, the author will state the exact same thing 3-5 times. I give it three starts because there is a lot of good information, it is just not well presented.
Good Graduate Level Text.......2005-10-27
This was a required text book for one of the classes in my master of public administration program (MPA). I found it to be extremely useful for understanding both the historical evolution of public administration and the current practice. The emphasis on the (sometimes conflicting) managerial, legal, and political perspectives of each aspect of public administration works nicely if you are also learning the Hamiltonian, Madisonian, and Jeffersonian perspectives on the founding of the government. I always find it useful to understand and remember how things work if I get a good explanation of why it is so--this book does a good job of balancing the how/why.
It's not a text for the casual reader, but if you are a graduate student, plan to be (or already are) a public manager, or just want a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of public administration, this book will serve you well.
Since I know some students don't buy books on their syllabi for financial reasons or for stubbornness, my recommendation is to get the book. It also makes a great reference for the papers you'll have to write.
Public Administration.......2000-05-21
Public Administration: Understanding Management, Politics, and Law in the Public Sector is a textbook that explicitly examines and explains the three major issues of public administration: management, politics, and law. It is an excellent text for advanced undergraduate or graduate students. In addition, this book identifies the differences in roles involved in public administration. For example, it describes the difference between the managerial and leadership roles in delivering public services. It discusses the traditional management style versus the New Public Management style in dealing with accountability on the part of administration, as well as the public.

"Learning the game of power requires a certain way of looking at the world, a shifting of perspective," writes Robert Greene. Mastery of one's emotions and the arts of deception and indirection are, he goes on to assert, essential. The 48 laws outlined in this book "have a simple premise: certain actions always increase one's power ... while others decrease it and even ruin us."
The laws cull their principles from many great schemers--and scheming instructors--throughout history, from Sun-Tzu to Talleyrand, from Casanova to con man Yellow Kid Weil. They are straightforward in their amoral simplicity: "Get others to do the work for you, but always take the credit," or "Discover each man's thumbscrew." Each chapter provides examples of the consequences of observance or transgression of the law, along with "keys to power," potential "reversals" (where the converse of the law might also be useful), and a single paragraph cleverly laid out to suggest an image (such as the aforementioned thumbscrew); the margins are filled with illustrative quotations. Practitioners of one-upmanship have been given a new, comprehensive training manual, as up-to-date as it is timeless.
Book Description
Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distills three thousand years of the history of power in to forty-eight well explicated laws. As attention--grabbing in its design as it is in its content, this bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun-tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other great thinkers. Some laws teach the need for prudence ("Law 1: Never Outshine the Master"), the virtue of stealth ("Law 3: Conceal Your Intentions"), and many demand the total absence of mercy ("Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally"), but like it or not, all have applications in real life. Illustrated through the tactics of Queen Elizabeth I, Henry Kissinger, P. T. Barnum, and other famous figures who have wielded--or been victimized by--power, these laws will fascinate any reader interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control.
Customer Reviews:
Entertaining read - great stories and some applicable principles .......2007-06-15
The 48 Laws of Power is written in a very peculiar format with a number of stories that support each law, as well as plenty of quotes, located on on the margin of the pages, from Machiavelli, Baltasar Gracián, Sun Tsu and many others. I have read complaints that many of these laws seem to contradict each other and perhaps they are right, however, the laws are more like a tactical approach to augment power and tactics do not work in every circumstance, that's why we need to have a strong arsenal of them. I assume that the term "laws" was used to make the title more appealing and marketable. Others have characterized this book's message as irresponsible, greedy and reprehensible. But the Author clearly states that this is merely an account of the tactics that have been used by countless kings, rulers, politicians and leaders, he never claims that they are moral or right, he simply states that they have worked in the past.
Overall this book is thoroughly entertaining and many of the "laws" do have practical applications, others, however, go against my values and therefore I only read for the interesting stories. I thoroughly recommend this book, throughout the years I have referenced this book many times.
One of the laws that I remember clearly is Law #4 "Always say less than necessary" and in that spirit I end this review. Enjoy!
Fundamentally flawed.......2007-06-13
This book is fundamentally flawed because it offers incorrect advise to its primary audience. Furthermore, the book does not clearly state the premises for using Greene's type of power and obscures the global structure of power. There are many different kinds of power, so this book makes you blind to all other forms of power by focusing exclusively on selfish, cloak-and-dagger power.
A relevant social question is why selfish, cloak-and-dagger power is apparently relevant in our society, or in Machiavelli's era, or in the court of Louis XIV. I would postulate that all three of these cultures share an atmosphere of fog and deception which allows such forms of power to flourish. Specifically, in our culture, mass media and corporate culture encourage such behavior.
If you are interested in having power, you might well ask whether the route outlined in this book is worth following. I believe that those who are submerged in corporate culture or in the business of mass media may find the advice of this book useful for gaining perhaps a factor of two in power within their current organization, however, it is mathematically implausible for the typical person using Greene's method to gain much more power in such a hierarchy. The fundamental limitation to Greene's power is that only so many people can successfully use encompassing webs of deception to rise to the top of a given power structure: if you imagine that the typical corporation or media conglomerate is a binary tree and like most people you are on the bottom of the tree, even if 5% of the people in an organization use Greene's power to "climb" in their hierarchy then you realize that it is mathematically implausible for the average Greene-follower to rise more than one or two levels. Actually, it's statistically impossible to rise more than one or two levels using any strategy, but Greene's is actively dangerous because it may get you in trouble and because the cloud of people using Greene's techniques at the top of any power structure are guaranteed to be far better than you at their "game" -- they've been brought up to be this way, educated since childbirth. As a practical example, my father worked in the technical corporate world for 25 years with many outstanding talents such as Ph.D. MIT graduates and doesn't know a single person who has moved up more than 3 levels in the hierarchy. I suspect that some of these people tried Greene's methods and failed, but really, you don't want to be in the business of fighting an uphill battle against mathematics or statistics. How do you gain power in a corporation starting from the bottom? Mu.
If you are at the bottom of a hierarchy and have talent and wish to gain power then Greene's strategy is the worst strategy you could use in America. To gain power in America starting from nothing, you have to mint it yourself, by working for yourself, or else examine the questions of power and happiness more closely.
When you get down to it, Greene is really offering advice on happiness: he says, "[If you try to opt out of the game], this will only render you powerless, and powerlessness will make you miserable." His whole book is built on this assumption.
But what is happiness?
I believe that Greene follows his own advise rather than answering this question directly and honestly. In other words, he wrote a contentious book that would generate popular sales rather than answering the question plainly. It is a manifest truth that if you start out with stupid assumptions then you will fill your life with garbage and become unhappy. Thomas Jefferson said as much: "All experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."
To be happy requires that you master your insecurities, abolish the social forms which you have grown accustomed to, and gain power over yourself.
Greene dodges the question: he falls into the trap of insecurity and the ability of people to have power over each other; this is equated with happiness. He doesn't talk at all about gaining power over yourself. Greene certainly gives his target audience the answer that they want to hear about lying and cheating in corporations, but he doesn't give the true answer.
To gain power over yourself you need to decouple yourself from the mechanisms that place you in a position of slave-to-master. One simple way to gain power over yourself is to stop working. Another is to work for yourself. If you increase your income relative to the cost of living then you have also increased your power over yourself. Often this is best accomplished by moving elsewhere and taking a job that pays less.
If you wish to start a company then I would recommend Paul Graham's essays. If you wish to stop working then you may wish to read the works of Thoreau, D. JoAnne Swanson, or Bob Black. If you wish to gain a handle on how the social mechanisms of power work in our era then read a book about the internal structure of mass media. If you want to be sociable by reading Greene's book because it's popular then go ahead, but it will not educate you about having power over yourself, happiness, or the structure of power in the modern world.
A PHD crash course in social manipulation.......2007-06-07
In today's business world, to be naive and "play the nice guy and get along with everyone" will get you nowhere fast, and may very well get you crushed. Greene has written several best sellers on understanding and influencing social interaction, and this one is my personal favorite. Use or be used is a accurate summation of what you will learn here. Some of the insights are no less than profound. All of them at the very least will have you analyzing things that occurred in your past that you could have handled more effectively. The things that flew below the radar and bit your in the rear will be very clear to see after reading this book.
When you understand hidden intentions, thoughts, and desires people have when they speak to you, you can respond with what is best for you, as opposed to being influenced against your desires. Understanding the 48 laws and re-reading them over and over with accelerate your success no matter what field you are in.
You will see through bosses, brokers, and salesman in two seconds, as they push you with subtle aggressive hints, massage your ego, all to see how much you allow them to get away with.
scripture of a demon.......2007-06-04
to be honest, this book is exactly what is wrong with society. This should be the book of how not to live your life. It is written, it seems, with bad intentions. I do not recomend this book.
Power.......2007-06-03
Very poor book, if one used any of these concepts in the modern world I doubt they would work (actually I know they don't work).
The author seems to have no idea about the concept of accountability.
Mostly unethical, greedy, irresponsible, unaccountable ideas.
No modern examples, all from ancient China, Greece, Middle and Renaissance Italy, France, etc.
There is not much about the concept of power in this book.
Will finish it just to ensure I don't act or behave like any of these exmaples.

Not a basic wiring guide.......2006-09-21
This is THE guide book for electricians and engineers. Almost 700 pages of useful information. The layout, tables, and ease of understanding have all improved over past editions. But this is not a basic wiring guide and it will only frustrate those without some electrical background. If you need to meet code - you need this book.

Book Description
Increasingly, high profile criminal and civil legal actions around the world highlight the interactions between medicine and the law. Forensic and legal medicine describes the body of knowledge that encompasses this interaction. The terms generally embrace forensic pathology and clinical forensic medicine. However, the nature of forensic and legal medicine is broad and may extend beyond medical and legal issues, into scientific and technical areas, and include specialist roles such as anthropology, toxicology, odontology and psychiatry. Separate from these issues is the much more widely recognized need to apply moral, ethical and human rights principles in the investigation of certain crimes, whether considering victims or perpetrators. Those involved in the practice of forensic and legal medicine and those in legal, judicial, police and other investigative organizations which require knowledge of aspects of forensic and legal medicine often need to identify appropriate and relevant information. The aim of this Encyclopedia is to provide a reliable starting point for validated information across these fields.
The success of lawsuits and prosecutions is dependent on utilizing the best services available, and knowing when to use them appropriately. All aspects of medicine are now scrutinized, not only by medical, legal and scientific professionals but also by the lay public. Such scrutiny drives and improves standards and some of these standards have come about as a result of major cases in criminal and civil courts and other tribunals around the world. The drive for much of this scrutiny derives from the intense review that occurs as a result of events taking place throughout the world in criminal and civil courts. Thus, improved methodology of detecting and documenting evidence, ensuring chains of custody and scientifically testing evidence ensures that appropriate judicial outcomes are achieved.
Teaching of forensic and legal medicine at an undergraduate level is on a worldwide basis underemphasized when compared with therapeutic specialities. Paradoxically, barely a day goes by without at least one medical news story being published of legal and forensic relevance and significance. The need for readily accessible knowledge has never been greater.
The Encyclopedia of Forensic & Legal Medicine comprehensively covers forensic and legal medicine (including related specialities and scientific, technical and legal issues) and is available online and in three printed volumes, offering any practitioner in a forensic, medical, healthcare, legal, judicial, or investigative field easily accessible and authoritative overviews on a wide range of topics.
The work is edited and written by experienced professionals with medical, legal or dual training and who are internationally renowned for their experience or expertise within their areas of specialty. The Editorial Board reflects the multidisciplinary, multi-jurisdictional and global emphasis of forensic and legal medicine.
The individual articles are written in a clear and concise manner and are supplemented by diagrams, tables and full-color images. Key further reading and extensive cross-referencing make this work an invaluable reference source for undergraduates and graduates looking for an introduction to key fields and experts reading outside their specialization.
Online access to the Encyclopedia is available on ScienceDirect. The online version will offer all that the print version does plus smooth linking, eg, to cross-referenced articles, powerful search functions, and more. Visit www.info.sciencedirect.com/reference_works/index.shtml for contact and subscription information. Access options are available even if youre not an existing ScienceDirect customer.
* Brings together all appropriate aspects of forensic medicine and legal medicine
* Contains color figures, sample forms and other materials that the reader can adapt for their own practice
* Also avaiable in an on-line version which provides numerous additional reference and research tools, additional multimedia, & powerful search functions

Wouldn't you love to abolish the IRS. . . .
Keep all the money in your paycheck. . . .
Pay taxes on what you spend, not what you earn. . . .
And eliminate all the fraud, hassle, and waste of our current system?
If so, the FairTax is for you! </p> </center>
A smash #1 New York Times bestseller from the moment it went on sale, The FairTax Book launched a massive grassroots movement across the country with its dramatic call to rid Americans of the punishing burden of income tax. Talk-radio firebrand Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder are leading the charge to replace the current tax system with the FairTax -- a simple 23 percent retail sales tax on new goods and services that would eliminate the reviled IRS and replace it with a system that's fair to all -- while jump-starting the U.S. economy, bringing businesses and jobs back to our shores, and recapturing billions of untaxed dollars currently lost to criminal and offshore businesses. Americans would get to keep 100 percent of their hard-earned paycheck . . . and April 15 would become just another beautiful spring day. </p>
Endorsed by scores of leading economists -- and gaining momentum in both the House and the Senate -- the FairTax Plan could revolutionize the way America pays for itself. Here -- revised and updated, with a new afterword by the authors -- is the straight-talking book that started it all. </p>

"
Wouldn't you love to abolish the IRS ...
Keep all the money in your paycheck ...
Pay taxes on what you spend, not what you earn ...
And eliminate all the fraud, hassle, and waste of our current system?</p>
Then the FairTax is for you. In the face of the outlandish American tax burden, talk-radio firebrand
Neal Boortz and Congressman
John Linder are leading the charge to phase out our current, unfair system and enact the FairTax Plan, replacing the federal income tax and withholding system with a simple 23 percent retail sales tax on new goods and services. This dramatic revision of the current system, which would eliminate the reviled IRS, has already caught fire in the American heartland, with more than six hundred thousand taxpayers signing on in support of the plan.</p>
As Boortz and Linder reveal in this first book on the FairTax, this radical but eminently sensible plan would end the annual national nightmare of filing income tax returns, while at the same time enlarging the federal tax base by collecting sales tax from every retail consumer in the country. The FairTax, they argue, would transform the fearsome bureaucracy of the IRS into a more transparent, accountable, and equitable tax collection system. Among other benefits, it will:</p> <ul>
Make America's tax code truly voluntary, without reducing revenue</li>
Replace today's indecipherable tax code with one simple sales tax</li>
Protect lower-income Americans by covering the tax on basic necessities</li>
Eliminate billions of dollars in embedded taxes we don't even know we're paying</li>
Bring offshore corporate dollars back into the U.S. economy</li> </ul>
Endorsed by scores of leading economists and supported by a huge and growing grassroots movement, the FairTax Plan could revolutionize the way America pays for itself. In this straight-talking book,
Neal Boortz and
John Linder show you how it would work -- and how you can help make it happen.</p>"
Customer Reviews:
Fooling Some of the People.......2007-06-19
The main problem with this book is the authors never tell that they have no dollar figures to back up their claim! A 30% National Sales Tax will not bring in the money needed to run the National Security State as it now exists.
The problems in modern Europe are mainly due to their high national sales tax (VAT) of just 18% to 20%. It is taxing people to death (the falling birth rate and other problems of malaise). Economics Professor Batra said so in one of his books. (Yes, there is controversy over this.) But the fact is that high regressive taxes do affect people adversely, and have done so throughout history. Remember the Boston Tea Party?
Read it first, then make up your own mind.......2007-06-10
Simply a must read. Unless you hate the poor and middle class, love tax loopholes, and enjoy how the power of the people rests in the hands of lobbyist.
The Most Provacative Tax Reform Proposal Yet.......2007-06-05
Linder and Boortz have proposed the most simple and sweeping tax reform program that could lift this country out of the morass of complicated tax laws we find ourselves entangled in today. Not only that, if installed, it could also lift the nation into a position of advantage for international banking and trade. The book is thin, and does not explore the many facets of the long range impacts - nor all of the short range complexities of implementation, however, it is honest in its presentation and does not mislead the reader. It is provocative and deserving of a thorough read in a time when the current tax code is obviously outmoded, excessively complex, expensive, and a dis-service to our citizenry.
Read This Book.......2007-06-02
Our opressive tax structure has gotten out of control. Our founding fathers would never have stood for the kind of redistribution of wealth that we're seeing in our time. It is time for us, the people, to take back control of our government. Changing the way we pay our taxes is a great first step. This book is concise, and backs up it's claims with solid facts. It will change the way you look at your pay stub forever. Don't worry though, it's not boring. The collaberation of Congressman John Linder's sensabilities and Neal Boortz's in-your-face attitude make for some funny reading at times. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of "The Fairtax Book". Then pick up another 10 copies and give them to everyone you care about.
Desparately needed reform, outlined in an easy-to-understand fashion........2007-06-01
Do you understand the U.S. tax system? I have an economics degree, and I sure don't. Did you know the tax code is much thicker than the Bible (and how many people have managed to read all of that book)? Did you realize that Americans collectively spend over $200 billion a year preparing income taxes.
While not without some flaws, the fair tax system proposed by Boortz is pretty simple and easy to understand. It's replaces an income tax with sales tax. To squelch the instant outrage of those who love our "progressive" tax system, Boortz would refund the tax we pay on the necessities of life (food, etc.). Theoretically, he could make the tax code simpler to understand, eliminate a bloated bureacracy, and not raise the tax burden on families. I'm all for it! Alas, I believe the current tax system serves a lot of people powerful enough to prevent its demise (special interest, certain lobbies, the IRS, Congress, etc.) who will spread a lot of demagoguery and scare the old and the poor into thinking they'll have to pay a larger share.
Read the book and write your Congressman!
