So comprehensive, the CD-ROM assembles your forms from among 40,000 document possibilities -- but so easy to use, you'll have them finished in minutes.
Important documents for executors
The CD-ROM also provides forms you can use every day, such as authorizations and agreements, child and elder care forms, promissory notes and documents to help you repair your credit.
For each document, Quicken WillMaker Plus Estate Planning Essentials 2007 Edition takes you through a step-by-step interview. Your documents will automatically reflect the laws of your state. If you have any questions, simply check out the comprehensive onscreen legal manual. Expert tech support is also available.
Need to know more? Here are in-depth details about what you can do with Quicken WillMaker Plus Estate Planning Essentials 2007 Edition:
Your Will
Provide for family, friends and charities. Name a personal guardian to care for young children. Specify the executor (or "personal representative") of your estate. Select a trusted person to manage property left to young people. Revise and update your will whenever you like.
Your Living Trust

Create subtrusts for minor children and young adults. Name custodians for property left to children. Change or revoke your trust at any time.
Your Health Care Directive lets people who care for you make important decisions about your life and health when you can't. Create a:
NEW! Health Care Power of Attorney Permit a loved one to make important medical decisions for you if you are unable to do so yourself.
Living Will
Specify whether you want your life prolonged through artificial means. Appoint someone to make sure your wishes are carried out.
Your Financial Power of Attorney
Name someone to make your financial decisions, in case you are medically incapacitated. Don't worry, you can grant as much authority as you wish.
Your Final Arrangements
Plan a funeral or other ceremony. Clarify whether you want a cremation or burial. Select someone to oversee your final arrangements -- and more!
Documents for Your Executor
Make sure your executor ("personal representative" in some states) has all the forms and instructions he or she needs to do the job: Checklists, letters, notices, claim forms -- and more.
Personal Finance Documents
Over a dozen forms that let you handle financial situations you might face on any given day, such as disputing a credit card charge, lending or borrowing money to friends or family, creating bills of sale -- and more!
Home & Family Documents
Whether you need to authorize someone to travel with your child to another country, want to lend your car to a friend, or create an agreement with a trusted person to take care of your elderly parent, Quicken WillMaker Plus can handle all these family situations -- and many more!
Estate planning documents not valid in Louisiana.
Customer Reviews:
egregious security violation.......2007-06-25
This product requires administrator privilege in order to get program updates from the website while running Windows Vista. This is outrageous. As administrator they can disable your privacy and security protocols (while looking at your financial data). This is shocking and lazy behavior for Nolo. They should have designed the program updates to work with network security prompts, same as every other responsible software company. I suggest anyone using this product unplug themselves from the internet while working with it and uninstall it when done. Very disappointing.
It does what it needs to do........2007-06-15
If you take the time to read the information and follow the instructions carefully, this will do exactly what it's supposed to do. Great document generator.
Willmaker Plus 2007 Very Impressive.......2007-05-21
I am very impressed with this product. The 500-page book alone provides a massive, detailed, practical, easy-to-read, and extremely helpful guide to the world of estate-planning legal documents. Just reading the book was an awesome self-education experience for me. Then, by firing up the software, I am walked step-by-step through the process of creating a will (or any number of additional legal documents) in a very easy, logical manner. For the person who desires to create a will, or any of the other legal documents covered, I highly recommend this product. It stands head and shoulders above any other product I have seen.
Simplicity at it's finest!.......2007-05-17
Since the more comprehensive reviewers here have already covered the features of Willmaker Plus 2007, I will only add a little opinion and a heep of praise to Quicken, for teaming up with Nolo in making this incredibly easy to use yet powerful program.
I must admit that I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I was able to create a simple Will without even opening the book because of the very easy to use step by step format. Legal jargon is explained brilliantly in laymans terms. This program is truly idiot proof!
Wills, Powers of Attorney for health care & finances along with other legal documents are the most important yet often neglected documents a person must deal with in life. Becoming incapacitated or dying without these documents in place can leave your loved ones with a real legal nightmare.
Completing my Will & Powers of Attorney and putting all of my important papers like deeds, titles, financial statements and insurance policies, in one place (known to loved ones) has given me tremendous peace of mind in knowing that my loved ones will have a much easier time resolving all of the legal matters if I become incapacitated or when I die.
Great product, just go to the notary, or have friends!.......2007-05-13
I have created a Will and a living will with this handy program. The book that comes with it is quite extensive, but the instructions are also viewed with each page you create. It guides you through the process and is really easy. The only problem is, when you are done with the document, you actually need to take action, and have someone witness your signature, and you need to have some documents notarized. It is a process you must do, or some of the documents you create are useless. Don't be lazy like me, get it done, and forget about it! In addition to wills and estate planning, it also has common legal documents, like things for pet sitters, credit history requests, and authorizations for temporary guardianships for minors. It is quite the package!

Learn a lot.......2007-05-13
As a novice developer, this book put me on the right track without all the confusion and terms I would have never understood. It was simple to understand and after reading it, I felt like I knew a lot more. Very interesting and satisfying. Great reference guide all the way around.
very good all-around reference.......2004-03-01
I primarily work as a structural-architectural engineer and am becoming more and more involved in civil-site work. This handbook is exactly what I was looking for in terms of something that would quickly get me "up to speed" in the fundamentals of civil-site design.
Of course, no single book could (or should) be thought of as a substitute for the experience and mentoring received from seasoned professionals in a design office, but this one has enough technical explanation and details to get you going with confidence.
I choose this one over the Colley book (reviewed both before making purchase) as Land Development Handbook has more of the technical info that engineers would seek.
Difficult to follow!.......2003-12-16
I am in a class at Community College of Baltimore County and we are using this book at this time. Our whole class along with the Professor find this book to be very difficult to follow. The book constantly repeats itself making it extremely boring to read and is not fluent at all. They have examples that reference charts that are 3-5 pages apart from the problem being discussed the formulas you almost have to figure out for yourself how they are used and there are alot of typos.
I recomend burning this book!!!!!!!
A Must Have Pub.......2002-07-04
Ever since I purchased this publication I can't stop using it. Every civil engineer should have this as part of their reference library, regardless of your area of specialty. It provides macro to micro scale explanations of general processes, design applications, etc in a very readable format. More times than I can remember I have looked to this book for an answer or at least for some guidance and was throuroughly satisfied. No it is not a definitive reference for civil engineers but its' breadth and usability overshadows any technical shortcomings. If I had to have just one reference book for my area of practice (general civil), this would be it. Yeah, yeah, the "Standard Handbook for Civil Engineers" is a more definitive reference, but I usually find out what I need in this pub.
ps - Almost everyone of my fellow employees that has used the book has purchased their own, find someone you know who has a copy and check it out for yourself.
A Book for the Project Engineer Engaged in Land Development.......1999-10-12
This book is the first book that really reflects and addresses most of the "everyday" issues encountered in site design and land development. It has a practical application and includes most of the charts, tables and nomographs that are necessary to complete a given design procedure. It also provides very appropriate and helpful examples.

Road to sucess!.......2007-06-10
The money you will save buying this book will save you thousands! It is a reference book that help you avoid all the common tax and legal problems when investing in real estate.
The ultimate get started book.......2007-04-10
This has been one of the best books on real estate I have ever read. I am just about to get started and will definately put this book into action. It is hard to get all of the topics for real estate into one easy to read format, but the Rich Dad advisors have done it and with a little flare. It is an easy read and good for anyone serious about getting started or if you have made mistakes along the way.
Great Stuff for the Money wise!.......2007-04-10
Full of great information if you want to know how to avoid costly mistakes for managing your excess funds.
A big disappointment..........2007-03-29
Unfortunately the book didn't uncover any "secrets" whatsoever as the title alludes to. The information contained in this book is very basic. I found one major problem with the text in that it encourages "component depreciation". My research and understanding is that this was clearly outlawed in the US in the 1980s. When I contacted the publishing company for clarification, no one would answer this simple question.
If this book was filled with high quality ideas, I would have overlooked an error or two and given this book 4 or 5 stars. But that wasn't the case as I've only been in the real estate game for a short time and already knew most of what is contained in this text. All in, this book isn't even worth the $5 +shipping I paid for it used....
Useful introductory general stuff.......2007-03-23
Much better written than the rambling and multiply-repetitive Kiyosaki books in the 'Rich Dad' series, this one is a useful basic primer on the Real Estate business. A nice Intro.

poor at best.......2007-03-08
I thought this was a text book I was buying, same author and title. It is, in fact, just a vocabulary list, NOT in alphabetical order, and often repeats words from chapter to chapter. Otherwise, it is blank lined paper. I am using it to take notes in for my law class.

Customer Reviews:
Family Wealth - Keeping it in the Family.......2007-02-16
As an advisor, preparing for my first Family Meeting, I found this more helpful than most other books on Family Governance. I really liked the way in which it talks about not just financial capital, and social capital, but human & intellectual capital as well. It resonated well with me and with my Family Office clients. It gives more of a structure for developing the governance model than other books I've seen.
Immensely valuable for members of a family business.......2007-01-03
Chapter 1 applied most directly to my situation, and this chapter alone makes the book worth having on my shelf. Hughes' perspective, from both his own family and his experience advising other families, gives the book authority.
Often family wealth seems to be treated as a "dirty little secret" where money concerns trump people concerns. Hughes provides a framework where financial, human, and intellectual assets can all be considered. He shows that family wealth can be a path towards growth of individuals, families, and their wealth, through investments, philanthropy, and professional development.
Bravo!
Hands on, long term familiy peace.......2006-08-19
I profound and comprehensive book on long term principles and practices to preserve family wealth (human an financial).
A must reading for medium family businesses.
Addresses issues of significant importance in the wealth management process.......2006-08-18
As principal of a financial planning and wealth management firm, I highly recommend this book for families who have acquired wealth and want their children and future generations to be concerned about their human, intellectual and social development in addition to the growth of their financial resources.
Family Wealth does a good job of addressing issues of importance to wealthy families such as the need to create and establish mission statements, plan for family governance and how to create a mutually rewarding relationship with trustees and financial advisors.
As someone with practical experience in planning and/or supervising all aspects of a client's financial planning needs with the goal of protecting and enhancing retirement assets and estates, I especially like the emphasis by Hughes on the need for long-term thinking and how personal and intellectual development is just as important as financial decisions in the family organization.
This book has added a new dimension to our multi-disciplined practice. Along with our principal specialty, retirement income and retirement plan distribution strategies, we now help our clients think of ways to use their financial capital to nurture and enhance their human and intellectual capital.
Recognizing the importance of human and intellectual capital in family business settings.......2006-03-28
I have read many books on the subject of family businesses, and this book has done an excellent job in recognizing that the development of human and intellectual capital in families is a precondition for the continued development of financial capital.
The book has a slightly more philosophical tone than some of the other family business books I've read (such as some of John Ward's excellent books), but nonetheless is an extremely valuable read to anyone involved in a family business setting (or serving as an advisor to such family businesses).
Hughes places a great deal of emphasis on the 'human' elements of family businesses, and suggests that the families should be primarily concerned with the development of the human and intellectual capital within the family. According to Hughes, such an emphasis will enable continued growth of financial capital, however many families make the mistake of placing the primary emphasis on the financial, rather than on these human and intellectual elements. Throughout the book he suggests that the family's role is to support each individual in their own pursuits of happiness, and that doing so will ensure the growth of all the classes of family capital - human, intellectual, and financial. Throughout the book he also discusses a number of other themes and ideas including: the importance of education, shared values, long term planning and group participation; the distinction between ownership and control; the different types of forms of government and the need to select a particular form to govern the family; the various roles of philanthropy; and, the use of, and complexities of using trusts as a family planning vehicle.
In summary, the book offers an insightful look into the ideas that have enabled many families to see to it that the notion of 'shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations' does not apply to their family business.
