Compatible with AT&T cell phone service, the Nokia 6560 features a WAP/ XHTML Internet browser, Java support, a speakerphone function, and plenty of phone and organizer features, all displayed on a high-resolution 128 x 128 pixel, 4,096 color screen; on a phone measuring only 4.16 x 1.73 x 0.75 inches.

Used simply as a telephone, the 6560 benefits from Nokia's sturdy-looking design and 4-way scroll key, which makes menu navigation and dialing a breeze. Primary calling features include vibrating alert, voice dialing, voice commands (for up to 5 menu items), voice memo record (up to 3 minutes worth), and an integrated speakerphone. Nokia also supports TTY/TDD (Telecommunication Device for the Deaf), and hearing aid support for the Nokia LPS-3 Loopset, (adapter and Loopset sold separately).

This phone also provides up to 9.6 kbps TDMA wireless modem capability. Mobile messaging features include e-mail, text, and picture message capabilities; mobile chat; and predictive text input. Using the 6560's multimedia messaging, you can also attach downloaded voice or image clips to text and send them as a package to other compatible cell phones and PCs.

The phone's organizer features include a 500-contact phone book, 500-entry calendar, a calculator/currency converter, alarm clock with snooze, stopwatch, and a to-do list.

For fun, the 6560 lets you choose different color schemes, wallpaper templates, and provides customizable wallpaper. There are also 30 polyphonic (MIDI) ring tones, and 5 picture messages. Four Java games, Bounce, Triple Pop, Backgammon, and Chess Puzzle, come preloaded on the phone; as well as the Java applications Portfolio and Converter. The 6560 also provides memory to support additional downloadable ring tones, picture messages, wallpaper, and Java applications and games.

The Nokia 6560 weighs 3.11 ounces. Its Lithium Ion batteries are rated at up to 4 hours digital talk time, and up to 11 days digital standby time. It operates on TDMA 800/1900 MHz, or AMPS 800 MHz service.
