Siemens’s SX56 is a combination cell phone, PDA, and Pocket PC, providing full functionality in a single device. Inputting text and navigating through menus is easy on the SX56’s large 4,096-color touchscreen. The Pocket PC platform enables users to use familiar Microsoft Office software, requiring little ramp-up time to get started, and an Intel StrongARM 206 MHz processor with 32 MB RAM and 32 MB ROM makes load times fast for a remote PC. GPRS provides a high-speed wireless data transfer at rates up to 40 Kbps for rapid text messaging and synchronization of the calendar, e-mail, contacts, and notes, and Microsoft Office documents (using Microsoft ActiveSync software) with a Windows-based PC. The SX56 includes an additional memory slot for creating more storage space and is compatible with several other accessories (sold seperately) that enhance its performance--a folding keyboard, a thumb keyboard, a USB cable, and a 2.5-millimeter stereo headset with a microphone. Other fun features of this phone include a built-in MP3 player, a memo recorder, and a short message dialer. The SX56 comes with a USB docking cradle, a carry case, a single-earbud headset, and an AC power cord.
