Since 1992, Moonshine Music has been serving up the freshest in electronic music. AV:X.05: Transambient 2, a product of subsidiary Moonshine Movies, features seven instrumental tracks set to corresponding visual imagery. These 12-minute "tone poems" (for lack of a better term) were originally broadcast on Britain's Channel 4 from 1998 to 1999. While they aren't exactly videos, they aren't short films either (there are no story lines, subtitles, etc.), and while the music isn't exactly New Age, it isn't techno either, but breakbeat, drum & bass, and trance. Watch as fireworks explode in the air, clouds sweep across the sky, and countless other scenes from everyday life move and pulse to the ambient beat. Spiral3, Visual Cortex, and the other artists have produced sounds and visions designed for maximum "chill out" pleasure--the perfect thing to slip on during a social gathering to encourage mingling, but not dancing or rocking out. --Kathleen C. Transambient 2 presents more organic audiovisual mixes, with musical styles ranging from drum 'n' bass to trance to ambient grooves. The vision behind the project was to create something that wasn't just music with visuals or visuals with music, but a real synergy of the two.
