Customer Reviews:
A collection of some of the weirdest videos ever........2003-07-14
Silverchair are a band that are known for their odd lyrics (earlier material at least) and bizarre music videos. "The Best of Vol. 1" captures every Silverchair video there is (The 'Epic' years, that is) and tosses some live performances and a documentary of the 'Neon Ballroom' album in the mix as well. If you're a Silverchair fan, you definitely get the bang for your buck. All the classic videos are here - 'Tomorrow,' the band's breakthrough starring an odd pigman, 'Anthem For The Year 2000,' where a really ugly robot tries to brainwash the youth, they are all here in all their glory. Some of these videos I have never seen and never even knew they were singles ('Miss You Love' and 'Emotion Sickness'), but I suspect they were overseas releases. Good stuff all around though. If you own all the CD's, this is the next place to go. You get to see the band gradually evolve. It's just too bad their former label won't be there to watch them continually grow.
A must see for silverchair fans everywhere!.......2002-12-05
This DVD is the best! I live in the US where silverchair videos are hard to come by, so it is nice to have a collection of all their videos. Emotion Pictures is funny as well, it is nice seeing what silverchair are like behind the scenes. This DVD is perfect for the essential chair fan!
What's the Parental Advisory label for?.......2002-08-16
That's what I'm wondering. There's no explicit lyrics whatsoever. There's no uncensored videos. I'm just wondering. Other than that, this DVD is awesome! The songs sound great on here. Its great how they put European and American versions of some videos on here. I really like that. I haven't really had a chance to watch the "Emotion Pictures" documentary, I've only watched the videos. This DVD is only for hardcore 'Chair fans. If you're not a fan, before getting this DVD, buy all the albums and get the Best Of CD which contains some B-sides of Chair songs that can be found on soundtracks (like "Untitled" was on the "Godzilla 98" soundtrack and Punk Song #2 can also be found on the "Scary Movie" Soundtrack) or other sources that are unknown. Its a great package. Check this DVD out if you're a fan if not, then get the albums and best of! I think the Parental Advisory might be for a quick shots of middle fingers but we've all seen them before!
Silverchair Videology!.......2002-01-05
Well for starters, I'm a huge Silverchair fan. I saw them in concert here in Cincinnati, Ohio. They kicked ...! I definetly wanted the dvd for the regular music videos cuz some of them I've only seen a few times on MTV a while back. Then I became addicted to the Live stuff on the dvd (especially my favorite "Paint Pastell Princess"). They're definetly a talented power trio!
"...do you have any money sony?" -the philly rap.......2001-11-16
silverchair are my favorite band, and if you must buy this unsupported realease get the DVD! It's got all their video's even the US and australian versions of pure massacre. I already have emotion pictures VHS. I got this DVD because of the full freak show/frogstomp era music videos.
here's whats on the dvd:
Emotion Sickness music video
miss you love music video
ana's song (open fire) music video
Anthem for the year 2000 music video
Cemetery music video
Abuse me music video
freak music video
Israel's son music video
pure massacre (australian version) music video
tomorrow music video
the door (live at melbourne park)
paint pastel princess (live at melbourne park)
spawn again (live at melbourn park)
pure massacre (us version) music video
and it has the entire emotion pictures documentary with the emotion pictures music videos repeated in it with some of the live shows from their US tour
If you want just for emotion pictures the VHS is way better! I love the LAS ;)
