My husband and I saw Tom Rusell in Gold Beach, Or. We can't get him out of our mind. We have ordered all his CD's and can't wait to get the latest one. We deal in Music. WE own a radio station. Calling all Tom Russell UK fans. This is a great chance to see Tom perform live, a chance not to be missed as Tom only comes here once a year. An evocative mix of songs to chill the soul... Tom tells it as it really is.... and many different shots of Canada. The shots on skid row, Vancouver really give an insight into Tom's beginnings as a singer-songwriter.The supporting artists are great, particularly Andrew Hardings guitar playing.A stunning piece of entertainment, and it won't disappoint. Those of you who have not heard of Tom will be instantly won over.
An Awesome DVD.......2005-07-07
Having bought many folk/country music DVDs, I didn't know what to expect here... sometimes the quality isn't great. This one, however, blew me away! There are 10 Tom Russell classics and five new unreleased songs. Everything about it is top notch... from the performances to the video and sound quality. This is more of a concert DVD than a film about the train, but you still get to hear a lot of stuff about Tom Russell's background and songwriting style. The train trip is icing on the cake. If you've never seen Tom Russell live, this is a great introduction. His personality and humor shine through. Andrew Hardin's amazing guitar playing is also showcased. Highly recommended!
