Customer Reviews:
Worth having for Lizzy fans.......2004-11-24
As has been well documented by others, the sound here leaves something to be desired, but it's not unlistenable IMO - it was 1977 after all. It is disappointing, however, if no effort has been made to address this since earlier format releases. Lack of any video extras is disappointing too, & gives this a cheap feel. The band & their performance can't be faulted tho. Gary Moore is incendiary, just an absolute joy to behold his prodigous talent taking shape. The band is tight & feeds off the crowd's energy. It's an inspired performance. Lynott is superb, cheeky & energetic. I think it's a great (although flawed) document of this period of Lizzy & Moore.
Great video but could you somehow adjust the audio?.......2004-11-13
Any Thin Lizzy fan has had a copy of this show for years as a bootleg or legitimate VHS release. The problem with this dvd is there are no extras and the sound quality is that of a transistor radio. The picture quality is terrific and probably the best official release of Phil Lynott and the boys visually. "Live & Dangerous" if you can find is also worth the money with better sound. This show definitely captures the energy of Lizzy live, it is just such a shame that the sound is so bad. I would have given this a much higher rating if they could fix the sound, is Australian TV that bad in sound quality?
avoid at all costs.......2004-10-05
i bought this on vhs and the sound is horrendous! i bought it on dvd figuring that they couldn't be that stupid not to remaster the sound........they didn't fix nothing.............it sucks! only for die hard fans!
A rare view of a great band!.......2004-06-22
I just wish the sound was better, other than that, it rocks!a must have for all Lizzy fans, imo.
Avoid especially if your a die hard fan.......2004-05-31
Sound is incredibly horribly terribly bad. Video is ok. Extremely dissapointed. Feel I should destroy my copy to protect real fans of a great band from seeing it. Rhino video is a name I'll avoid in the future if possible. Very lazy indeed. Just horrible and painful even for a die hard fan of one of the best bands of all time. Thin Lizzy. Looking for something better on the boys.
