Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Erasureific!.......2006-08-24

This is a wonderful concert. Great songs. "Interesting" costumes and dance routines. I watch this a lot. Was worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars COMPLETELY PHANTASMAGORICAL!.......2006-04-30

An all-out Erasure fest, a simply awesome production from the Music,Vocals, the stage and the choreography (it was hilarious to hear Vince Clarke's pronounciation "choreography" in the interview part! Sorry Vince.) Most interesting was the counterpoint to this over the top technofest:"Perfect Stranger" where Vince and Andy present in their bathrobes with nothing more than a microphone and a Casiotone keyboard to do a bare-bones rendition of 'Perfect Stranger'. A brilliant deconstruction and demonstration that even in the abscence of the armada of technology wielded, that it all boils down to solid basics: a good song and exceeding vocal talent. It's a must-have for all Erasure fans.

3 out of 5 stars Nice, but . . . .......2006-03-26

This concert was a remarkable spectacle live. The original reworkings of every song and a set list studded with obscure gems made it a delight for fans, and that's without mentioning the over-the-top theatrics. I was so in love with the show, I bought tickets to see it again on the following night.

Fast forward 15 years. I was so excited about this video when it was first released, that I considered buying a PAL VCR to be able to order a copy from the UK. When I finally got around to buying the eventual DVD release, I've got to say that it was a bit of a let down. It's all there, and it's fun to see again, but the quality of the footage is mediocre in my opinion.

The opening shots were not even centered on the stage. Then, from the editing to the seemingly washed out colors, it just didn't seem that compelling. I would have to guess that their production budget was a fraction of the much higher quality Wild! video.

Buy it, it's a fun show, etc, and most people seem to like it. But I loved the show, hadn't seen it in years, and found myself fast forwarding through the video out of boredom. The bootleg CD release of the same tour, Welcome to the Glitterdome, was a much more enjoyable experience to me. The music is outstanding, but I personally doubt I will be playing the DVD again any time soon. Cheers!

PS. It is almost painful watching Vince Clarke pretending to perform for the camera here. I admire the man's contribution to synth pop, but I would have much preferred it if he went back to his amazing feats of dexterity on stage from the Yazoo days of balancing a cigarette in one hand and a cocktail in the other.

5 out of 5 stars Hey, it's Erasure...........2005-09-21

I've been fortunate enough to see Erasure up close and personal 3 times in Miami Beach. This DVD got me even closer and a lot more personal. If you are a fan of Erasure, this is a "Must Have" item, and if you show it to any of your non Erasure fan friends, this should convert them.

5 out of 5 stars Oh my goodness what a video!.......2005-02-17

I love Erasure's music and have listened to them almost exclusively for the last 18 years. I have never seen MTV nor have I been to any concerts. I bought this DVD to see what Erasure looks like and I had no idea what I was in for. What a show! More like a two-hour aerobic workout! The show is spectacular with it lights, sets and mostly it's dancing! Andy Bell is a good dancer and he has about 10 spectacular dancers who dance behind him. I've never seen exceptional choreography like that in my life! Simon of American Idol sure is wrong when he insists pop singers should not sing and dance- it would not be the same if Andy Bell just sat in a chair! I loved the show and was amazed by all the effort it took to put it together. Beautiful, stunning, profound and it certainly has all my favorite Erasure songs included! Those two backup singers are really good too! Perhaps I will see his concert in S.F. for my 40th birthday. Andy Bell is very sexy, vibrant and full of life. Wow! Buy this video and you will not only get to hear Erasure at it's finest, you can experience them and live the songs through the dancing and the artwork of their craft. Vince Clark's music is the best and was rearranged in this video so the songs are a bit different but in a good way that adds to the spark of their craft. I love these guys!
