Dionne performs in a beautiful black floor length bangle beaded gown. The gown shimmers and glows as she gives a very lively and animated performance in Edmonton Canada. She sings songs that I have never heard her sing before and I'm a Dionne Warwick International Fan Club Member and have about 98% of all the albums she's ever recorded. She performs rare songs like Love to Love You Baby (Donna Summer's old Disco sultry song), The Way I Want to Touch You (Captain & Tenille), Have You Never Been Mellow (Olivia Newton John), Love Will Keep Us Together (Captain & Tenille), This Will Be (Natalie Cole), Get Down Tonight (KC and the Sunshine Band). Dionne dances and moves about on the sexy and funky songs like Love to Love You Baby, Get Down Tonight. She touches on her classics too.

Classics include Alfie, Don't make me over, windows of the world, message to michael, I'll never fall in love again. At the end of the concert Dionne brings the house down, I mean the girl burns the rafters up with a super charged version of Promises, Promises.

Vocally and muscially her voice is powerful medium ranged timbre (mezzo soprano range). She executes excellent crescendoes, calandoes, decrescendoes, perdendoes, with excellent pitch and volume. Vocally this is Dionne is top vocal form as she performed in 1977 backed by the impressive Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (before the cigarettes detroyed her voice).

If you didn't know, Dionne has been a heavy cigarette smoker for many, many years and today (in the 2007's its taken a toll on her voice). However, this rare treat from 1977 is the exception. I have never seen Dionne so animated, energized and lively as in this performance. This is Dionne performing as a young woman -- at the time of the concert she's 37 years old.

True Dionne Warwick fans -- this DVD is a must. You must own this DVD as it showcases the super gifted and rare quality of one of the world's premiere pop vocalist.My Point Of View

I Ordered the DVD but was sent a VHS.
I returned it with a note explaining reason and 2 weeks later received another VHS.....
I gave it to someone who could use it........

Most entertaining DVD I have ever seen.......2006-03-31

Since buying this DVD I have watched it every day for the past 28 days, it is very entertaining. The DVD has two 55 minute feature sections and all the songs playable individually. Helmut Lotti is a fantastic entertainer, great voice, humorous, and a super young man. His humility says much about his character and why he is Europe's most popular singer. He can sing most any music in five languages, which he learns phonetically with no Dutch accent. On this DVD he takes American standards from the 1960s and makes them his own in a beautiful setting. Lotti's concerts are sellouts even in America.

Splendor in Brussel's Guild Square.......2005-10-20

I do not normally write reviews or hyperbolize about musical artists, but felt compelled to do so in Helmut Lotti's case. The polyglot Mr. Lotti's english is so perfect that his rendentions of "Crying" and "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother" rank with the best. He really seems to be a good human being as evidenced by his interaction with his audience, fellow performers and Flemish children in "When You're Sailing." Furthermore, his involvement with UNICEF demonstrates his willingness to give of himself. The location was beautiful as were the orchestra and accompanying singers. The DVD performance was nearly as good as "being there." It's sad this kind of talent is more appreciated in Europe than in the US.

Excellent song collection and a spectacular voice .......2005-09-08

I have been Helmut Lotti's fan for years, ever since year 1998 I saw his classic concert on PBS. He has such great voice and he sings with passion. This CD contains many popular songs that we can sing along with. He is a very talented singer, not only sings but also writes his own music and lyrics. Once you hear him singing, you can't forget his voice. He hits those high notes with such ease that sometimes you forget that he is not a classical singer. I brought both DVD and CD on this title, and own almost every album that he ever made, at least ten CDs. Too bad we use to find his CDs in stores, now we can only order it on-line. I am eagerly anticipating his new work, because I know that I will not be disappointed.

HELMUT LOTTI POP CLASSICS - OUTSTANDING!.......2004-10-14

This is my most treasured music DVD. His rendition of "Crying" would have made Roy Orbison sit up and take notice. With a world class symphony orchestra as backup, every song in this concert is a meticulous and inspired labour of love. I found the mix of onstage and video versions of song selections to be particularily masterful in heightening entertainment value. The shooting location in Brussels' city centre is absolutely superb. All these attributes and Helmut Lotti's personable connection with his audience and onstage performers, creates an overall atmosphere of warmth throught the concert. This is the first time that I have enjoyed the Special Feature "Making Of" as much as the concert itself. Additionally, I found the Special Feature studio recording of Danny Boy with Cliff Richards particularily breathtaking. I hope that someday he will add Vancouver, BC to his concert tour so I can witness a live performance.

Another Winner!.......2004-08-28

When you think you've seen the best here comes another 'best'. This production is a winner as this classy performance of Helmut Lotti and all those involved make it near perfect, if not already perfect. The choice of music, location of his hometown of Brussels for the concert, guests of Cliff Richards, Helmut's lovely wife and the children used to accompany him on one number are all classy. Speaking of music choices 'Cry', 'Mandy', 'Danny Boy (with Cliff Richards), 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother', 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' and "I'm Sailing' (with the children's group) were among the great numbers to enjoy. This young man is not only a great entertainer but could be a role model for many young people in performing grace and class.
