Touring to support their 2001 album Demolition, Judas Priest blow the roof off London's Brixton Academy during a 90-minute performance showing off their current lead singer, Ripper Owens (original vocalist Rob Halford left in 1992 to pursue a solo career). The rest of the band remains intact--the dual guitar attack of Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, and the powerful rhythm section of bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis--but the soul of Priest is the leather-lunged Owens, who leads the quintet through an inspired set, mixing tunes off Demolition and Jugulator (the 1997 album that introduced Owens) with classics like "Breaking the Law," "Living After Midnight," and the finale, "Hell Bent for Leather." Also included are a 20-minute featurette, "Demolition Time," featuring band-member interviews, and 25 minutes of sound-check footage, including versions of songs not part of the actual concert, "The Sentinel" and "Lost & Found." --Kevin Filipski
Description
This is the one and only, or rather the ultimate DVD from the metal gods themselves! It was recorded at the legendary Brixton Academy show in London in December 2001. The live show track listing features quite a few songs that haven't been played live for quite a while including Turbo Lover and Desert Plains. On top of that, the DVD features tons of behind-the-scenes material, rare footage, interviews, soundcheck footage, and lots more!

WHY CUT SONGS?.......2006-11-29
This is a pretty good DVD but 7 songs were cut. 6 of those songs were on their '98 live CD. If you must have a copy of Ripper singing Highway then you'll have to get the CD version of this which is the complete show. The set list could've been a little better but if you want a live document of the Ripper era this does the trick.
Wow.This rocks.......2006-05-01
I am a fan of many types of rock, from classic to punk, to metal. This is the first live dvd i have ever bought of a band, but being a fan of priest i felt i had to get it.Their performance is great as is the quality of the whole video. Owens does a great job on vocals in my opinion, belting out the lyrics i would say as well as halford(I am also a fan of Owens in Iced Earth). The selection of songs is really good too, spanning from the early days up until before Demolition.I really wished Devil's Child was on here though!i love that song.o well.great dvd.pick it up.you won't be dissapointed.
COOOOOOOOOOOOL!.......2006-04-06
This is a good Judus Priest dvd! I think it's important to have both dvds with the two singers. It's a raw in your face dvd. And I like that. But, riseing in the east is more of a spectal to behold!
Where is Halford?.......2005-12-05
I still love Owens a lot. I saw him on stage with Iced Earth and this guy is so amazing. There is so much endurance in his voice.
That DVD is excellent. Everything is just in place. It's just something that is missing on the stage...
Owens has a too loud heavy voice I think. It is slightly more violent and rough than Halford and it kills a bit the spirit of the songs. But overall the band plays every song the right way.
That DVD is a must for a fan. At least for a fan which accepts that Halford isn't there.
Powerful Stuff..........2005-10-14
This one is cool, one of the best concert I have seen. Owens screamed like a banshee. Several songs, like Blood stained, were sang even higher than the studio tracks, which was seldom done by any vocalists performing live. The sound is great and the performance is magnificent, have been playing it countless of times for the last 3 years and still find it fascinating. I like it even better than the "Priest...Live" concert. This is a must-have DVD as there might not be another Priest concert with Owens due to the return of the Metal god Rob Halford.
