This is the most spectacular DVD i've seen so far, not to mention that is the most complete, a 2 DVD package with the best of the best artist out there. He managed to make the best concert you could ever see and also you get all the videos from all the songs he played in that concert which are like 20, plus interviews and other amazing stuffs. You buy this DVD and you'll need a lot of time to see it all. Seriusly the best DVD ever with all and i mean it ALL the greatest songs of the great Phill.

Sound Problems But Great Performance.......2007-07-07

The performance is great, but if you listen closely, the volume swells up and down throughout most of the songs. Most evident on "mama" and the beginning and soft breakdown on "Domino". It's as if someone applied limiters to excess on the mastering of the sound, and it's gone crazy.

I am something of a fan of concert videos and attended the INVISIBLE TOUCH tour when it launced in Los Angeles in 1987. Of all in my collection, this one has some of the best sound quality of them all. Even a reasonable surround sound system will give an good performance. Camera work and effects are very good, allowing the impression of "Being There."

Genesis at their Very Best .......2007-05-09

I was never lucky enuff to see Genesis live back in the 80's or 90's but i'm Finally going to see them this year (2007) in Chicago and i'm about as excited as a lil school kid on x-mas morning. When I bought this concert on VHS way back in 1990, I was in absolute heaven cuz it's surely the next best thing to being there and flawless from beginning to end. Some of the standouts from the show were - Abacab, Home by the Sea, Land of Confusion, Domino & Los Endos. Now that this concert is on dvd with digital sound/pic & contains extras like interviews with the band, it's even that much sweeter. I own about a hundred concert videos by many popular bands from the 80's, 90's, etc... but this one really stands out from the rest of the pack becuz of it's song selection, location, raw energy, sound & picture quality, camera work and above all else, the superb performances by Phil & the rest of the guys. Basically, This dvd shows Genesis in their prime & is a Must own for any fan.

A stunning show.......2007-02-06

This was an excellent concert, but would you expect anything else from these guys??? I saw the Invisible Touch Tour twice in person, but the venues I went to in the Los Angeles area were no match for Wembley Stadium. Wembley was the perfect place to record this show. Once again, Genesis displayed their superb musical skills and amazing theatrics. The band was in top form here. Genesis was always a band that could effortlessly blend sound and visuals to create a unique concert-going experience. They were so far ahead of their time in that regard. Bands today, even with the current technology, cannot hold up to what these guys did...20 years ago.

2nd half of show... amazing!.......2007-02-04

This DVD is well worth the investment. However, I do wish that the old "Seconds Out" tour 1977 that I attended after Gabriel left was available somehow, somewhere. That's more my style: old Genesis. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the show starting with "Tonight, Tonight" and through "Los Endos." An amazing hour of entertainment (2nd half of the show), where any fan will lose themselves in the sheer spectacle of Genesis at Wembley and, of course, Phil, Tony, the music/show, are first rate!

For Genesis fans old and new, The Way We Walk: Live in Concert has definitely been worth the wait. Recorded at London's Earl's Court in November 1992 as part of the group's 56-date world tour, the footage re-creates one of the band's most lavish live tours ever. With a backstage crew of over 100, giant video screens, and state-of-the-art lighting, this was a massive event. The DVD is an equally colossal affair, incorporating over eight hours of concert footage on two discs (a two-hour concert recorded from four separate camera angles). The multicamera presentation is amazing, providing a unique front-row perspective of all the stage action. The star is undoubtedly Phil Collins, who leaps around and batters his drum kit like a hormonal teenager. His evangelical introduction to "Jesus He Knows Me" is particularly fitting and amusing. There are also performances of some of Genesis's greatest hits, including "Dance on a Volcano," "Home by the Sea," and "Invisible Touch." I've been a Genesis ever since I was around
9-10 years old. I grew up,listening to classic rock. Yes, I STILL listen to classic rock,and I ALWAYS will. I bought this SUPERB DVD,last year,or the year before, but I don't recall which year. Now,I'm don't attend concerts, on a regular basis. Though,I did go to 2 Genesis concerts--I went to a Genesis concert, during the Invisible Touch Tour,in Pittsburgh,PA.and during the Live The Way We Walk Tour,also in Pittsburgh,PA. Both concerts were ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!

The DVD overall, is OUTSTANDING!! The video quality is GREAT, and the sound is SUPERB as well. I have a Pioneer home theater system,and the DVD sounds FANTASTIC. Phil Collins,is an EXCELLENT vocalist. Phil Collins, is a SUPERB drummer,as well!! The rest of the band members--Tony Banks,Mike Rutherford,are fantastic musicians. Chester Thomson and Daryl Stuermer,are very talented musicians,as well.Chester and Daryl,were only performing with Genesis,during tours,not in the studio. They of course,are no longer with Genesis,as they only currently, perform,with Phil Collins,in the studio,and on stage.

Great show with a great line up but....the sound is terrible. Go out and get Live at Wembley. It's too bad it sounds bad because it has a better line up than Wembley. Listen to them both in DTS if possible and you will hear the difference. Overall excellent band with a bad DVD sound mix.

the last great tour.......2006-10-26

A Genesis concert was always an event. Each tour was a feast for the senses. Absolutely amazing musicianship, terrific lighting, and handsome images all designed to guide the audience through this mass-bonding experience. I can only dream what this band might be doing on stage with today's technology. I was happy when this came out on DVD. My VHS copy was wearing out.

Unbelievable-Fantastic.......2007-06-18

I bought this for the fact that Mark Knopfler was in it. I was blown away at the performances. Pink Floyd did "Shine on you crazy diamond" and "Run like hell". It was wonderful as always. Paul McCartney whom I'm not a fan of, changed my mind. "Hey Jude" was almost inspirational. The band, Status Quo, sang "In the army now". I really liked that one. The biggest surprise for me was Genesis, Phil Collins sang the song "Mama" like I've never seen and heard someone sing before. The band was unbelievable in this song too. I Actually got goose bumps. Play it loud! I haven't really listened to Phil Collins since they went their different ways. Eric Clapton, Elton John, Robert Plant (with Jimmy Page), Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits, Cliff Richards & The Shadows, Tears for Fears, Phil Collins and the Serious Band were all great too. I couldn't find one bad or even mediocre performance. It was wonderful to see some of these "supergroups" perform together. The sound is very good for a live concert. The DVD's are capable of Dolby Digital, Dts, and 5.1 Surround sound. 125,000 people were there for the benefit of the mentally handicapped kids. These people sang and rocked their hearts out. I am very critical of live music, not this one. You will NOT be disappointed .

I bought this DVD because, I wanted to see some of these bands when I was a teenager but never got the chance. I think that Pink Floyd should have gotten more air time. Genesis was good, Robert Plant and Jimmy page was very good. Paul McCartney was not bad. Cliff Richard (Who was He??). Everyone else in the show was alright. But, All in All the entire show was great. Nice to see how these artist preformed on their own TURF.

I have seen other reviews and although most people recomend this item, some have concerns and issues with editing. I respect the opinions of everyone but offer this view: listening to "I think I love you too much" performed by Knoppfler and Clapton, guitar mounsters, is worth the entire box; believe me, it is outstanding and something very unlikely to see again. If you know who these people are, you will not be dissapointed. Guranteed.

Disappointing.......2006-03-15

Yes, I am disappointed. The sound is terrible. Crowd sound levels are out of proportion to the music performed. We have come to expect a much better editing job. Of particular note, is that the sound track is out of sync with the video performances - especially on the Status Quo numbers.

It is nowhere near as complete as it could have been. So many good performances were omitted.

I give it 3 stars simply because it was such a moving concert. And it is better to have this record of it than to have none at all. Maybe someday this event will get the first class treatment it deserves.

On the evening of September 15, 1997, legendary British music producer George Martin (who had risen to prominence with the Beatles) held a benefit concert at London's Royal Albert Hall for the small Caribbean island of Montserrat, which had recently been devastated by a volcanic eruption. All of the invited superstars had recorded some of their biggest hits at Montserrat's Air Studios, which Martin had founded in 1970, and this shared history gives Music for Montserrat an added sense of enjoyment among friends. Despite a few vocal dropouts and forgivable mixing problems, this outstanding concert has been captured with impressive fidelity, and while each artist performs songs appropriate to the occasion, they share the stage (along with a house band, choir, and orchestra conducted by Martin) in brilliant combinations that bring out the best in everyone involved.

The show hits full stride with Mark Knopfler's exquisite "Brothers in Arms," which segues nicely into "Money for Nothing" with guest vocals by Sting, who then performs two hits from his Police years. And while Elton John and Eric Clapton form the centerpiece of the concert (especially Clapton and Knopfler's acoustic "Layla"), Paul McCartney anchors the show with a spectacular four-song conclusion. Phil Collins's expert drumming is matched throughout by legendary percussionist Ray Kooper, and McCartney's fully orchestrated "Golden Slumbers" is a genuine show-stopper, followed by a "Hey Jude" sing-along with everyone on stage. They all follow McCartney's lead for a rockin' rendition of "Kansas City" (which the Beatles had performed as early as 1960), by which time Music for Montserrat had given its royal audience a show they would never forget. --Jeff Shannon

Great Sound and Great Music.......2007-07-08

The usual group of London England musicians gather in Albert Hall for a fund raiser for the island of Monserrat which had been devastated by a volcanic eruption. Beatles producer George Martin kicks off the concert and probably had a hand in the DVD production. The sound quality is superb. The Albert Hall ambience is right on. The musicians are at their best. Phil Collins kicks off with a great number. The concert then sags a bit until it's revived by Mark Knofler. If you watch the backup group closely you'll notice that the excellent session guitarist is quitely joined by an old guy named Clapton. From that point on the music soars as Knofler, Collins, Sting, Clapton, Elton John, and finally McCartney put on a show that can be watched over and over again.

Real Phil at his best.......2006-03-28

I have to say this is my favorite Phill Collins live dvd. I tend to favor Phils work that has not been top 10 on pop charts. This dvd is a perfect example of what I love...the best of his tours have always been promoting albums, when he plays such a better variety of the real Phil music, not just the air-play stuff like in his Final farewell tour (which I also like, but will watch this 10 times to one of that).

One of Phil best concerts mastered on DVD. This concert was in Berlin in Germany. A huge crowd, clear pictures and good sounds. The quality of the sounds is extremely good. I keep watching this show from time to time. The band that plays with Phil needs to be salute. The band gave its best.
I recommend this DVD. You will not be dissapointed unless you have a bad system that can produce good pictures and sounds.

Concert good, Acoustic Reproduction poor.. .......2005-04-16

I own both the Paris DVD and the Berlin DVD. Played both on my IBM ThinkPad T30 (with SHURE professional earbud) and my Nakamichi DVD Player (with Boston Acoutic speakers and later tried on QUAD Electro Magnetic Earphones). The Berlin DVD sound reproduction is poor. Case in point, the Berlin DVD shows the volume and clarity of the music with strong degree of volality throughout the concert, as if there were technical problems during recording. The problem is not salient if you listen to this DVD on a boombox type of player but its weakness was totally exposed when you play on a more demanding system. Initially, I thought it was a random product defect of my DVD and returned to the shop for an exchange but the problem persists thus I determine this is a universal problem.

It is disappointing as the Berlin concert certainly has better energy and song selections than the Paris concert however, it was totally ruined by the acoustic quality. If you are an audiophile, between the two, I advise you buy the Paris concert, much better acoustic reproduction. If you just listen to this on your low end laptop or low end DVD player with sound reproduction from the speakers on your TV, buy this one.

This concert DVD is well worth it! I was never really a big Phil Collins fan until I saw this concert DVD. He is an incredible talented musician. The video and sound quality are excellent (but would have been better if the DVD was offered in DTS sound).

If Phil Collins isn't the hardest-working man in show business, he's right up there, at least if this nearly 90-minute concert is any indication. The man is nonstop motion, whether seated behind his drum kit, prowling the stage as frontman (the format is in-the-round, so it takes an effort to keep all of the arena-sized audience involved), or, of course, singing the hits (including "Against All Odds," "In the Air Tonight," and "Sussudio"). The "loose" part of the title is a bit of a misnomer; Collins's excellent band is unerringly tight, and the performance is well-choreographed while still maintaining some sense of spontaneity. There's no denying the appeal of Collins's drum-heavy, horn-driven, R&B-cum-world-music sound, and if his music ultimately isn't as challenging or engaging as that of Peter Gabriel, the other ex-Genesis lead singer, no one in this Paris audience seems to mind a bit. The Best Phil Collins Has To Offer.......2007-01-03

I own lots of Phil Collins music and DVD's. Live and Loose is my favorite Phil Collins DVD. The circular stage gives you 360 degrees of viewing pleasure. This is by far the most energetic performance I have seen by Phil Collins, either live or recorded. The lighting, the sound, the interaction between the band members, the crowd reactions, and Phil's awesome energy makes this a must buy DVD. This DVD is great for viewing or just having on while you do other things around the house. If your budget limits you to only one Phil Collins DVD, this is the one you want to own. None of the others come close. If you like Phil Collins, you will love this DVD.

I saw this show on a directv special a few years ago and fell in love with it. This show was perfect, phil is an incredible musician and showman. His druming is legendary, his songs are unmatched. This show was energy from beginning to end. I've been reading alot of reviews especially from a certin moron who insists on comparing every last thing phil collins does to what peter gabriel does. This putz has the odasity to say Gabriel is a better singer..(ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!) lets call a spade a spade phil isn't a great singer not a very good voice, BUT NEITHER DOES PETER GABRIEL. The're different kinds of musicians, different type of song writers, phil's more into ballads and catchy songs, while Gabriel has is artsy-fartsy stuff, which is good as well i'm a big Gabriel fan, but i wouldn't sit here and call Gabriel a better singer or Vise-versa. I like collins' music better than Gabriels personally, but just because i like one more than the other doesn't mean i'm going to look past the facts. FACT:They both have bland voices (mostly screaming to hit high notes) .FACT: They are both briliant musicians...BY ther way Phil is still one of the best drummers in the buisness and no one can take that from him. FACT: Genesis was a sucsessful with Gabriel and collins. SO PLEASE IF YOU'RE GOING TO RATE AN ALBUM SOLEY BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE THE ARTIST, PLEASE....DON'T BOTHER RATING IT THEN. IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE OTHER REAL REVIEWS FROM PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE AN AGENDA. The peter Gabriel section is on the other page.

Magnificent performance by Phil and the group. The concert is a high energy performance featuring great video, good sound, and excitement. Several of the older songs are played as well as the newer ones. Great musicians accompany Phil in this unforgetable show in Paris.

I watched this for the first time last night, and was amazed at the drumming of Phil Collins, as I had never heard him play jazz before. Seeing and hearing him play with Buddy Rich's band was just the greatest, and he definetly fitted in.

I highly reccomend this DVD to all who love the music of the great Buddy Rich and all those who just like watching/listening to really good drummers. The other drummers on this album are all in a class by themselves, it's just that I had never heard Phil play jazz, and it touched me trmendously.

Hot Collins, Chambers and Smith!.......2004-09-28

Absolutely excellent DVD. Great sound and quality picture plus the major talents of Phil Collins, Dennis Chambers and Steve Smith really playing hard on some of Buddy's greatest stuff. Phil is (in my opinion) one of the greatest jazz drummers around and not too many people know how capable he is, as he is known for mainly for his rock drumming with Genesis and solo R&B/jazz stuff, but Genesis would from time to time utilize and add bits of jazz-fusion styled ideas into their music. Of course seeing them live it was obivious they were major talents. Phil still has it! Dennis also plays great (as he usually does). He is one of the busiest drummers on the jazz/rock scene with the bands Niacin, CAB and numerous sesions with cutting edge artitsts. Dennis really drives the music with lightning speed and precision. Steve Smith is always interesting as well. Seeing all these guys play incredible jazz performed live is well worth the money.
