Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Live Iggy.......2007-07-05

A little too amature-ist of a video. Dark spots, lots of the guitar player, etc.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good for 50 year olds, but they are 50.......2006-09-29

Speaking as someone who thinks Funhouse is the greatest rock album of all time, I can say this DVD is pretty good. The performance is good, but surely lacks the drive they had 35 years ago. The main sonic pleasure is the color of Asheton's guitar and the clarity with which you can follow his still fantastic playing. Visually, you get to see Iggy make all his classic moves. Ron A. is pretty stationary, and Watt is unobtrusive (and plays fine too), and Scott A. is hardly on camera, and is probably has lost the most chops, sounding a tad generic. The sound quality is excellent, clear, full, and smooth, though a bit too clean and sterile. Guitar is up in the mix, which is good, since that's the highlight of the disc. Camera work and editing aren't too good at following Iggy and don't give enough long looks at the fretwork. And though I'm glad I saw this, I'm not sure if I'll ever need to watch it again.

4 out of 5 stars Stooges Reunion: Very Cool.......2006-04-29

I was at this concert! In addition to the Stooges reunion, the concert featured local band Von Bondies, and one of the top bands in punk rock history, Sonic Youth.

This DVD is a great reminder of a special night with Iggy back in Stooge form, joined by Mike Watt on bass.

5 out of 5 stars No Fun.......2006-02-23

For any youngsters that don't know what rocknroll is check this out. Iggy Pop at his best! Raw, crude, rude and loud. Ron Asheton lays down great rhythm's and lead guitar. What is this 1969 all over again??!!!! When Iggy lets the crowd on stage for "No Fun" it's pure craziness. Don't think twice about buying this DVD. WOW!!

5 out of 5 stars Godlike beyond all belief.......2005-10-05

Have you ever sat and watched something that was so unbelievable you just sat there with your mouth agape, with tears (of joy, not sadness) running down your face?!?

That's what this DVD - and this performance - did to me. I was literally dumbfounded looking at the screen - I could not believe what I was seeing was really happening. I think my jaw still has a scar from it smacking the floor in astonishment.

It's almost like as if The Stooges had never left. Iggy is amazing (he has no right to be in that good a shape at his age) and the band rips through all the timeless Stooges classics with piledriver-like efficiency. The hometown Dee-troit crowd seems to know how momentous the occasion is - their reception is nothing short of riotous. (And half the crowd clambers up on stage at one juncture.)

Like an incredulous L.A. Weekly reviewer said after reviewing their first Coachella reunion gig - "The Stooges! The f---in' Stooges!!!"
