DVD is just OK, CD is crap.......2005-06-11

I bought the CD Page Avenue some years ago and I thought It was very cool. When I saw this DVD/CD, I didn't think twice and just grab a copy. However, when I played the CD over my Car CD player, I felt like it's not something that you can be proud of. They're all way out of tune. But then again, it's a rock concert so what can you expect. With full of acrobatics, it's so easy to be like that. I bet the guys are just using those antics so they have an excuse for their awful sound. However, when I watched the DVD, I said to myself "at least, it's now break even lol"... The DVD has lots of cool stuff especially if you like videos a lot. The performance will tell you why the CD sounds so bad. The only difference is this time, you get to see some pictures. If you like Live performances where you expect the band to sound good, this is not the thing for you. But if you want some circus to come with it, they go ahead and buy it. But I warn you that their sound is way way below their studio CD quality. You'll just be disappointed.

OMG. This DVD is just absolutely brillient. I am from Australia, so when I realised that it wasn't be released here yet I ordered from Amazon.com. I have to say it is one of the best music dvd's I own. They are just so amazing live and the guitarist manage to do jumps and throw their guitars around themselves like no other band I have ever seen. They truely put on a great show. I highly recommend this dvd. Having the bonus cd as well is great, means I can still hear them live on my way to uni. So good.

Also in relation to the fromat, as it is NTSC. As long as the dvd player is multi-region you will have no probs. Works a treat on mine.

there really is no better DVD than this. SOTY is the best band to watch live. They do so many kool things. They get the audience pumped up and ready to ROCK. Well anyways u should get this DVD because it kicks ass.

Story of the Year & Big Blue Monkey.......2005-05-13

Story of the Year were previously known as Big Blue Monkey, probably the best heavy band ever to come out of St. Louis. To see the direction they've taken, commercial whine rock, as Story of the Year is not only sad but infuriating. This DVD sucks butt, as did this show at the Pageant, which I attended for no reason other than I had free tickets and nothing else to do that night. Koolus should learn that high roundhouse kicks were only cool when David Lee Roth was still fronting Van Halen and that was more than 20 years ago. A good rock show only requires good rock music, which this band can't deliver. Fire your singer, bring back Big John and call yourselves Big Blue Monkey again.

This is one of the greatest DVDs ever created. The live show is simply mind blowing. No band compares to Story of the Year's live show.. and this comes from someone who's been a music fan for more than a decade. Roundhouse kicks, guitar flips, high jumps.. that's all you need for a great rock show!.
