Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A Very Good Show.......2007-02-26

Other than the fact you may never get this DVD once you order it (I finally found the DVD on Ebay, after waiting three months at Amazon),it's a terrific performance. I have only one gripe: The blue stage lights sometimes wash out the musicians, making viewing difficult.

The top 5 cuts (for me, anyway): 1) Long way There, 2) Man on your Mind, 3)Mistress of Mine, 4) Happy Anniversay, 5)Night Owls.

The vocals are mostly great, exactly what you expect from LRB. And when I tell friends these guys are now in their early 60s (late 50s when recorded), jaws drop.

True, Shorrock doesn't have the same range he did in the 70s and 80s, but gosh, he's still very good. (If you listen to the "Live Exposure" VHS, you'll see what I mean about his voice quality being not quite what it once was.) Wayne Nelson's vocals are also missed. Though some die-hard LRB fans resent Wayne for traveling with the current LRB lineup, he's a quality musician and a great singer. Add him to the mix and this show would be second to none. (If BSG ever tours the U.S.--which will likely never happen, I'm sad to say--Wayne should be invited to join the tour.)

One other small gripe: The crowd is dead! Not until the end do you see any real excitement from those present. This should have been recorded in front of a U.S. audience comprised of rabid LRB fans.

As noted by others, the "engine room" (the backup band) will blow you away.

Bottom line: This is a great DVD and you'll watch it many times over.

I have.

I have no idea how to respond to your request wanting me to review this product! I first tried to order this item on "8/15/06". I am still waiting for the DVD to arrive. Do you plan to ever send it to me? I have ordered two copies and I am growing impatient. So you see how I am not able to review this product; it's kind of hard to review something that hasn't been sent to me yet!

5 out of 5 stars I would give it a 10 star rating if there were one.......2006-09-14

this is one of the few 70's groups I can honestly say that they sounded better today than they ever did - even in their prime. The lead singing, harmony, musical quality and mix is just wonderful - very clear and dynamic....I use to put on steely dan to test out the speakers - not now ---I put on BSG now and just kick back. These guys have something that most do not...and they are so much better than the LRB that is frequently touring and using their name (basically a tribute band)....Anyhow, this dvd is well worth the money and i'd pay double for it - and obviously, it's hard to get- I find it very amazing they had the energy to put out so many songs during one concert - damn, the younger guys can't even do this.

5 out of 5 stars More than a Little River Band.......2006-06-27

Once in awhile a DVD is released that just seems like a gift. This is one of them. It was enough of a magnet to pull one's attention to this reunion simply because it has been a long time since Birtles, Shorrock and Goble shared the stage. After the first few harmonized lines of "Full Circle", one realizes you are about to get more than just a nostalgia act.

Little River Band was never short on talent. The current LRB lineup with Wayne Nelson and Steve Housden is no exception. However, all it takes is a few bars of "It's A Long Way There" to start realizing you are hearing THE genuine article. BSG truly are the core of the Little River Band, and the three men responsible for composing its enduring catalog. Given the incredible performance, one can only hope they continue to make music together. Time has not diminished any quality of these three men. They display the perfect intonation that has been a standard of LRB since it's inception. BSG seem confident, at ease and they deliver the goods the entire performance. A special discovery is in store when witnessing guitarist Simon Hosford. This man is a worthy successor to David Briggs. He executes jaw-dropping, inspired licks that maintain the LRB arrangements and go a step beyond. In fact, what makes this live band so special is the ensemble playing. Each member contributes to the whole.

The DVD is nicely packaged with an extensive booklet, wonderful sound quality and a picturesque backdrop of the Forum Theatre in Melbourne. The track listing generously covers every phase of the LRB catalog. Of special note is the beautiful "Prelude In A Minor", which leads seamlessly into a haunting "Mistress Of Mine". Glenn Shorrock still has the charming stage presence that is a sort of hybrid of Joe Cocker and Phil Collins. His voice is as strong as ever.

All in all, a superb DVD that reminds us just how special BSG (LRB) was, is and will be. More please!!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing!.......2005-09-30

The quality of video, sound and song on this BSG dvd was well beyond any expectations I had expected. I was blown away by the impressive vocals of BSG and by the musicians in the band supporting them. Beautiful! Entertaining! Excellence! Heart and Soul music by three impressive veterans who know good music and fantastic harmony! This dvd was by far the best gift I've received in the past 25 years...maybe ever. I'll wear it out watching and listening. PLEASE MAKE MORE! Get that tour going and stop by and see us here in Indianapolis!
