Warm concert in the rain.......2006-06-29

What a great dvd this is. Dionne comes across as being very natural and warm in nature. I am sure if it wasn't pouring down with rain, there would have been more audience participation. The backing band is sensational. This is a very enjoyable concert from a very professional entertainer and polished vocalist.

I saw this concert and admired every second of Dionne's performance, not to mention the backstage stuff. I enjoyed the duet practice part of David and Dionne where they had to laugh laugh and laugh.

The track suit was just right for the night. Could you imagine staring at Dionne singing at the top of her lungs in a cold, wet, jazz fest wearing an "evening gown" which could have exposed her to .... pneumonia after the concert??? It was a perfect decision to let her wear the track suit (she even looked ten years younger in that suit) to keep her warm thru the that night. This DVD is one's collector's item.

What can you say about a performer who has done it all, and with Class. No other performer in music history has accomplished so much and has influenced so many! This DVD is a must have for any music lover and after 40 years she sounds fantastic and so does her son, David Elliot. The artists of today can learn a thing or two from this icon! Here's to Dionne and i am 'wishing and hoping' for another follow up DVD!

This is a great Dionne concert! The picture and sound quality is fantastic!!! This is Dionne Now... Dionne's voice has changed, it's deeper and her range is not as strong as it used to be..still Dionne's sounds great on this DVD and her band and the arrangements are great! Dionne was celebrating her 40th anniversary in music for the taping of this concert and her son David joins her for three numbers, i think in time he'll be a better singer...he tends to belt too much for me. With a career and catalog like Dionne's there is no way she can include all the hits or rarely sung lp cuts..hopefully soon Dionne will do another DVD and dig deeper into her vast catalog and perform more of her songs from the 70's and 80's, 90's.

Dionne is one of the greatest!.......2006-04-23

The dvd is great! Dionne sings her hits in the pouring rain and you can feel the dampness from your couch. Dionne is on a short list of singers- that do not have to dance, prance or cut up- to distract you from their questionable vocal abilities. Only Patti can do all of that and more- and give you a vocal beat down before she leaves the stage. But getting back to Dionne; This very humble artist has talent up the Ying yang. And her clothes (stage attire for this concert) do not define nor are they distracting from this rainy concert. ****This is for the fashion police and their track suit issue. Her son-is an excellent songwriter/singer with a more than average voice and looks good sharing the stage with his moms. Great work from everyone on this project! My only issue with this concert is that she has no background singers to give the songs- that extra punch and imagery that we hear and see in our minds- that we get from her studio work and her other live concerts. "Don't stop! Don't Stop! Walk on Bye!" Nuff said! I am out- Great work Dionne!

An Unusual Concert .......2005-03-19

Heres Dionne relaxed in front of a soggy crowd at the Syracuse Jazz Festival. The concert features all of her hits and she sounds great. The only complaint is that between some of the songs it seems to end sharply without no audience applause sort of like the last seconds of the song were cut out and it goes right into the next song. It only happens twice, not a big deal but unusual for a live concert DVD.

Great Concert.......2004-12-15

Nothing can stop Dionne. It's cold, it's raining and there she is singing to a crowded audience of loyal fans under their umbrellas. She looks great in very simple blue outfit, very casual. She's in great voice and great spirit as she takes us down memory lane with some of her many hits, some with new arrangements. The duets with his son David Elliot are great, he's a great singer. I'm pretty sure this is the same DVD as "Dione Warwick Live" ASIN: B00023TG7I which is more expensive, she has the same outfit. Maybe the song set on that one is longer. I highly recommend this DVD, it's great quality, Dionne sounds great and has a great 8 piece band behind her. I wasn't even a fan and I really enjoyed this concert and for the price it's a bargain.
