Description
Platinum-Selling Beef earned critical and popular success by exploring the history and evolution of verbal warfare in Hip Hop. From Busy Bee and Kool Moe Dee to 50 Cent and Ja Rule, artists got more and more personal, and their attacks became less and less about the music. From the Wax to the Streets, Beef brought those underground and sometimes violent beefs to your living room. Beef II continues that tradition of thoughtful, unbiased and entertaining Hip Hop journalism by bringing the new beefs in the game as artists call out the real gangstas in hip hop. From labels and lawyers to managers and media. Beef II captures the battles that often rage behind the scenes in the music business. The increasing popularity, profitability and commercialization of rap music has irrevocably changed the tradition of battling within Hip Hop culture. The true Hip Hop battle is no longer a fight to prove one's skills, but a fight to survive in this Billion Dollar Hip Hop Industry. Beef II features interviews with 50 Cent, D12, Redman, Method Man, Canibus, Royce Da 5'9", KRS-One, Nelly, Ice Cube, Mack 10, Cypress Hill, DMX, K-Solo, Sticky Fingaz, Fredro Starr, Parrish Smith, Kool Moe Dee, Angie Martinez, DJ KaySlay, Big Daddy Kane, Davey D, Cold Crush BroTHERs, Marley Marl, Roxanne Shante, Kangol Kid, Kevin Powell, Afeni Shakur and exclusive archival footage of Eminem, LL Cool J, Westside Connection, cypress hill and others. Beef II is a must-own for any true fan or follower of Hip Hop!

5 out of 5 stars Hott.......2006-06-17

Hot Beef flick. Only thing is they gotta show "Daz VS Kurupt" and "Kurupt VS DMX" and all those other beefs that never got really exposed. Overall, pretty good movie.

4 out of 5 stars Good job, crazy days.......2006-03-09

Is it just me or is KRS One like that spoiled kid in the toy store? "I want attention." That dude will stop at nothing to get it. Now I understand why Nelly said "It's too obvious" that he was trying to get the spotlight. I used to think KRS was cool, but once I heard him ask his fans to boo Nelly and boycott Nelly's album, I lost a lot of respect for that due. Boycotts and disrespecting folks at their concerts should be reserved for those who deserve it--at least let them be doing something negative. That beef was like two third graders and one of 'em was saying "I don't like him, so you can't either!" Speaking of that, must Mack 10 always be a groupie. I GAINED respect for Dub-C for staying out of the beef with Cypress Hill. )Note: I'm sorry, but Cube's version was better than Cypress Hill's version. But regardless of that, Cube was DEAD WRONG and I hope he apologized.) As for the clowns vs. Eminem, that dude made himself look absolutely stupid with those shirts talking about "... look good in these." That dude sounded like he was on some heavy drugs the whole time he was being interviewed and I don't understand why Eminem even asked them to be at that party. I thought Eminem was right to respond the way he did--he put some nobody's on a cover to try to promote THEIR career and now they're mad 'cause they were stupid enough to turn 'em down. GET OUTTA HERE! *rolling my eyes* I enjoyed the "Roxanne" beef...I had no clue who she was until I watched that movie, but I'm so NOT MAD AT HER for going all the way to a PhD. Gone girl!

3 out of 5 stars It's ok.......2005-12-02

This isn't as good as the first one but you still get some pretty good battles. The best one in my opinion is cypress hill vs. westside connection. Man that beef was vicious. Most of this dvd is about how bussines can turn former friends into bitter rivalries. You also see the roxanne battle, ice cube vs priority records, nelly vs. krs one and others. Well if you can find it at a video store and rent it first or find someone who has it and see it first before you buy it.

3 out of 5 stars "Beef 2" Review.......2005-11-28

The second entry in the "Beef" series follows with more in-depth explorations of classic feuds. This time, the beefs include D-12 vs. Royce Da 5'9, KRS-One vs. Nelly, DMX vs. K-Solo, LL Cool J vs. Canibus, Westside Connection vs. Cypress Hill, and plenty others. This time, it's hosted by Keith David. It's only drawback is the missing Eminem vs. Benzino segment which was removed from the retail version due to complaints filed by The Source magazine. If you enjoyed the first 'Beef", you'll want to see this one too. The interviews with KRS-One are worth it on their own. There's also a great story about Ice Cube going haywire in the Priority Records office.

5 out of 5 stars IT WAZ DA $HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-10-23

I Think this beef was less talk than the first one.
