I bought this for my mom because it was on t.v. when she was my age, but her father would never let her watch it and we haven't been able to find it anywhere else. it was not a disappointment for either of us. I've listened to Alice Cooper and like him, I've seen him but never really seen a concert of his, but it was interesting. It was well worth the money that I spent, which actually was not a lot. I was expecting it to cost more.

I saw this concert live 5 times. It was the first time Alice toured without the original band. It was the first time anyone saw a show like this. Later I saw the movie when it was released at a theater equipted with concert sound so it sounded great except Alice was in fact a little off with his singing. When I saw it was released on VHS and then DVD I thought it would sound as good as it was in the theater, but sadly the sound isn't up to par. Even though it is a piece of rock history and any collector should own it. Also a little trivia for you. One of the dancers in the show later became Mrs Alice Cooper (she's the woman dancing in Only Women Bleed) If your an Alice Cooper fan, you'll love this

OK! This dvd is nothing bad as most of the reviewers say! Here are the REAL pros and cons:

Pros:
* The video quality is very clear (I don't know why most people don't see it that way)
* The show is FREAKING COOL!! Is full of spiders, manequins, demons, skeletons, graves, darkness, ect. and the dressing is very creepy and well done (great quality).
* The extras are preety good because there is an interview with Alice, audio commentary, trivia game and gallery.
* At the end of the show you see a lot of fans outside the concert talking about how cool is Alice Cooper and cheering the band.

Cons:
* Alice was a little drunk at the begining of the show but is funny and still cool.
* "I love the dead" isn't here, so Alice don't cut his head with the guillotine.
* The audio wasn't that good, the music hears preety low but you can still enjoy the music.

The tracks are: Awakening, Welcome to my Nightmare, Years ago, No more mr. Nice Guy, Im eighteen, Some folks, Cold ethyl, Only women bleed, Billion dolar babies, Devil's food, Black Widow, Steven, Escape, School's out and Department of youth.

P.S: If you buy "Good to see you again (1973)" and this dvd you will have Alice Cooper 70's collection. But if you don't care about the decade and you want just a good concert then buy "Trashed the World".

Great DVD! True to the original VHS version of this concert video. I did like the original VHS cover better, though. It was a concert picture, rather than just the album artwork. That was confusing to me at first. I thought it was just videos of "Welcome To My Nightmare" songs, at first, instead of the great concert that it is. This is a piece of rock history that every fan should see at least once.

I love Alice, but this vid is not worth it!!.......2004-03-29

The sound is just horrible. My friend Dave had this $20,000 Sony stereo system and I bought this Welcome to My Nightmare video to surprise him one day. Both of us are huge Alice Cooper fans. Dave likes the Greatest Hits CD the best, I love "Welcome to my Nightmare" and "Billion Dollar Babies" alot. So, we popped it in and woah!!! Even with his eq's, filters, and different components, it sounded mediocre, borderline crappy. On my stereo (Sony 500 Watt receiver), I dont have any filters or eq's, the audio sounded like crap! PLUS the video footage itself is horrible!!!!! Bad lighting, bad footage, cheap cameras, etc...I was so PIST bcz I paid like $15 and wasnt able to return it!!!!! SKIP THIS ONE ALTOGETHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO HEAR ALICE'S SONGS SOUNDING LIKE ITS COMING FROM AM RADIO. Like I said, I love Alice alot and especially the "Welcome to my Nightmare" album, but this video just upset me so much. Its just sitting there on my shelf and has been for about 2 years.

Ah, while he would not be considered extreme by todays audinece, that is only due to a lack of historical perspective. In his day, he was denounced for lyrics as refreshingly honest as these. His own unique brand of darkness is still pure fun to listen to.

This remastered version of Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare concert in London is both good news and bad. First the good. The picture quality is improved significantly from the original release. The bad is that the sound quality is still fair to poor. Most annoying is the original editing of the movie...I know it was the 70's, but any amatuer with a video camera and basic editing ability could make a better video. Watching Cooper stagger and prance through this classic concert is still fun. But too bad that the event wasn't documented more effectively.
