Beware with the Aspect Ratio!!!.......2007-04-18

The concert is great, Sheryl is beautiful than ever, but ¿why all the concerts from Mrs Crow have problems with the Aspet Ratio? There's a big problem, somebody have to tell the Crow's managers that there's a lot of Widescreen TV's in the world!! And 16:9 changes the vision of a concert. C'mon C'mon Sheryl, shake your producers!!

An Opinion By Someone At the Concert.......2007-03-23

If you're a big Sheryl Crow fan and want to experience her concert while she's at the top of her game, this is great choice for you. She plays essentially all of her hits (at the time) and had a wonderful encore. As an aside, I would love to see her cover more Led Zepplin and The Who.

The concert was filmed over two shows in Kettering OH on two beautiful summer nights. I was at the first one, and I can vouch that there was at MOST the slightest of breezes so the wind noise another reviewer commented on must have been from the last night or from another source. One interesting note was that she tipped us off to the filming, and it was still dusk when she performed her first two songs (opening with "Steve McQueen"). So she politely asked us, after the encore, if she could repeat the first two songs so that the lighting was more consistent. We were happy to oblige.

I have to concur with the lackluster production values on this DVD (notable the editing and camera work). A DTS track would be nice, but otherwise I found the audio respectable, it'll sound just right coming out of most people's home theater.

It was a great little venue for a concert, one I hope more artists take advantage of using. I suspect more people would spend time watching Sheryl than her band, but overall this DVD will give you a nice feel for a small venue, open-air, ampitheater concert by one of rock's most talented women. Oh, I'm the guy in the front row to Sheryl's left with the obnoxious hawiian print shirt! Enjoy....

Why This Show?.......2007-02-14

I'm a huge Sheryl Crow fan and was initially very excited about having a newer concert DVD than "Rockin' The Globe: Live" (which is excellent). However, the show(s?) they filmed for this DVD was obviously at a venue that was outdoors and very windy. Only occasionally do we get Sheryl's actual live vocals from the night in question. One only needs to compare the sound of her microphone when she talks between songs to the sound while she's singing. I'm a recording engineer I can tell that there was too much wind noise for them to use her live vocals and they had her come in afterward and redo most of them. There are many times where the "sync" of her mouth onscreen doesn't match the sound of her voice on the soundtrack, which can be disorienting.

While this kind of nuance doesn't bother most people, it definitely bothers me. It's true that most live DVDs have some "post-processing" sweetening done, but this one has so many of the live vocals redone it almost qualifies as a studio album. The band is great, the song selection is fantastic, but I was let down by the overdubbed lead vocals. It didn't have the magic and energy a live show should have as a result.

If you like the raw, somewhat confused atmosphere of a live concert, this DVD can provide that experience. If you like good production values...great camera work, smooth editing, and well engineered sound, you would be better off buying a studio-produced album. The band is adequate, everything is in tune, but the sound and video cutting are pretty rough. I watched/listened to this DVD twice, once on a very high-end computer with great speakers (hooked up to a Yamaha powered mixer, 220 W, full EQ) and once on my digital, stereo TV. Both times, the production problems were very distracting...sound flat, tinny, video editing very crude. Oh well, it only cost ten bucks.

Great Sounds but...........2005-07-19

Great songs and sounds. But the picture editing is not great it's like watching a video. I bought this DVD so I can be like being there watching the concert. Too many close-up shots and changes quickly to another angle. Lots of shots from the stage but less from the people watching the concert and not shot of the entire stage, so we don't have an idea what it looks like. And whats with this wide screen, I already have a wide screen TV and yet I have to set it to a full screen zoom which makes it more close up.

The beauty of an artist is often revealed when things go wrong. Something goes wrong in this concert during the performance of "Everyday is a Winding Road," the kind of potentially scary thing you don't want to see. Sheryl Crow responds by not missing a beat and transforming it into something positive and revealing of her spirit. And that song's rendition is a highlight of this concert DVD. "1, 2 . . . Shake Your . . ."

Unless you are a die hard fan, the DVD probably contains at least one new Sheryl Crow song you have not yet heard. (FYI - If you want to hear some variations on Sheryl's hits, YouTube has "Strong Enough" sung with Stevie Nicks, "The Difficult Kind" sung with Sarah McLaughlin, and a version of "Hallelujah.")

The camerawork and direction are superior. The concert is well edited. Sheryl Crow is in full voice, with unbelievable accurate pitch and vocal control. Her non-violent patriotism is on full display in this concert presentation. "Peace is all you need." Sheryl's message is not to focus on what's gone wrong, but rather on: How do we as a nation respond and recover?

One of the unexpected pleasures on the DVD is watching Sheryl Crow dance with her bandmates backstage, killing time, while her version of "The First Cut Is The Deepest" is playing. Watching that video, I can understand and forgive anyone who has ever loved Sheryl Crow and can't let go of their pleasant memories of her.

sheryl crow cmon america i think was a fantastic dvd jam packed with all the fantastic hit singles that heryl has released.i can almost guarantee youre favourite track will be on this dvd performed spectacularly by sheryl crow. tracks are steve mcqueen,there goes the neighbourhood,riverwide,my favourite mistake,cmon cmon,the first cut is the deepest,strong enough,redemption day,if it makes you happy,a change would do you good,home,weather channel,leaving las vegas,all i wanna do,soak up the sun,and everyday is a winding road. for the encore she performs youre an original,lets get free,i shall believe,safe and sound and rock and roll. its a must have for any sheryl crow fan.

I got my first DVD player(finally)and the first DVD I watched was this 2 hour video of Sheryl Crow blasting away this crowd in Ohio it was the greatest music video I've watched.It is very simial to the CD Sheryl Crow Live at Budakan but there are some differences in the sequence and the number of songs. So the cover art may look the same but there are differences. But it is worth it for the surround sound and the audio/visual. A definite A+
