Ever wonder what goes on in a pumpkin patch during the fall season? Pumpkin Season is a Read-A-Long DVD Picture Book. This wonderful story is about a cute little pumpkin named Reggie. However, in pumpkin society you either qualify to become a jack-o-lantern, or you are kicked out of the patch and made into pie by the Bakerman.

The Bakerman never makes pies out of the official jack-o-lanterns, but he has a big pie order to fill and now all pumpkins are up for grabs, especially Reggie. Reggie's courage unites the pie pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns and they all join together with the jack-o-lantern ghosts of Halloweens past to defeat the Bakerman. The jack-o-lanterns finally realize that big or small scary or not, they are all the same. And from now on all pumpkins will be Holiday jack-o-lanterns, thanks to Reggie.

This wonderful story is for all ages. Special features include, animated intro, on-screen story text so children can read along, your choice of male or female narrator (kids pick), a full screen gallery with music track. Worst Menu EVER!!!.......2005-10-31

This is the second year that we have pulled out this seasonal DVD and my son enjoys them now just as much as he did last year. The reason I started warehousing seasonal DVDs was because of the level of frustration I have with this menu. First of all there is a verbose and utterly unnecessary narration about how to use the menu. Once you get past it or hit MENU on your remote to shut the guy up then the play all function from the main menu doesn't even work. You can then go into a sub menu for each show. Just in case you didn't catch in the first time there is yet another explanation of how to use the menu. When I press MENU at this point I am removed from the all menus and have to start over. I can take it for a few weeks a year but it's going back into storage as soon as the jack-o-lanterns hit the trash can. I have to give this DVD a one just based on the poor menu design.

We, too, never had any trouble bypassing the menu. This is another great creation by Disney. For any kids and parents who adore Playhouse Disney, this is the DVD for you, just sweet Halloween cheer. We would rate it a 10 if we could. It is one of our favorites!!!

I just wanted to say that I have never experienced any problems with our DVD taking too long to load. It is just like any other DVD, when you put it in you wait for the restriction info, hit menu, hit menu again to skip the bit that explains how to use the DVD and hit play. It starts just like all the rest. I think it is great that they are slowly getting these switched to DVD. I love Rolie Polie Olie and my son loves it too. It's defintely worth the $$$ or whatever it is.

Not worth the money.......2003-10-22

This DVD is not worth the money (might buy it for $5.00). The beginning is this long drawn out explanation of how to use the main menu and about the spooky ghost who will try to scare you as you make your selections (I'm not kidding you, it takes 3 to 5 minutes to get to the right screen to start the program you want to watch then another 2-3 minutes to start it from there). My daughter was screaming for Rolie Polie Olie and I couldn't skip the main menu to start it and then it was only 20 minutes long (there's Pooh bear on it too). Don't buy it!!

Without a DVD Player.......2006-04-02

I don't have a DVD player, but I said if I ever did, I would get Tonex's dvd first. I kept waiting and waiting till I could buy the player and then I said I'm gonna stop waiting for the player and just buy it, and so I did a little over a week ago. I watched it at other people's houses who have dvd players about four times. I can't get enough of this dvd!!!!! Every time I watch it, I am filled with joy and praise like an abundant river..after a dry season feeling like a bare oak tree in my walk, this has been refreshing and more than an answered prayer!!!!!!!!!! I have most of Tonex's work and I appreicate ever line and key, it's so beautiful his heart after God, being used in boldness stepping outta the box and being unique, I am in awe:) Wonderful how the concert and dvd with each chosen individual was for such a time as this--videos, awesome graphics, reflection, sign-language, spanish, interview, dance, Holy-ghost feet-washing festive time causes every soul to draw close to Jesus and change!!! Amen, Tonex,amen. I am so blessed by your obedience and this is not half of what my heart has to say after being washed, cleansed and tanned from the light of my Lord...this was not a gospel concert, this was a LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!! Those individuals I went to, borrowing their dvd player, I thought would enjoy this and fall down in the hours of the Holy Ghost, but they fleed from the house..and because of that, I was able to find my Lord in an intimate and personal way, renewing and restoring my soul. If you are looking to be entertained or for some ordainary gospel concert, you're gonna get your feelings hurt when you watch this. Cause this warfare, in the drum beats, in the scriptural lyrics, even in his high notes and moans, the Holy Ghost was speaking and moving. Don't delay another moment reading reviews and listening to other views..get Tonex's dvd now and reap your reward. This is definitely for those of us who have searched and searched for something extra-ordinary in many elements of our life, not ever wanting to be put in a box or defined by our outward appearance, but by our heart for God alone. To those peculiar people, in the chosen generation, want you to know there are others like you, more than Tonex, hold on, we'll all meet up in a little while. Thank you sooo much, Tonex, you're bringing us outta the box..look forward to meeting you in due season.

I am a Tonex fan, but I was skeptical about this concert due to mixed reviews. Thank God I purchased it anyway because it was absolutely amazing. I watched it over and over again just mesmerized by not only Tonex's performance, but the worship experience towards the end of the concert was refreshing. What a powerful man of God he is!!

Tonex has a very free spirit. Those who believe that he goes over board or does a little too much are those who are still living on the "STONE AGE!" This is a new generation with new demons and new blue prints. They way the enemy tempted the older saints is not the way he is tempting us today. He's coming harder and more powerful than ever before. It's time out for tradition or church as usual because you can rest assure that Satan is not rising up against us with fornication as usual, drugs as usual, homosexuality as usual, rebellion as usual, even hypocritical and judgemental as usual. We can't continue to fight the devil and his boys with their new strategies with our traditional tactics. Our praise needs to be free. If dressing a little outside the church satisfaction is what it takes to bring them in then let's do what we have to do to get the lost souls in and THEN once we have them home we can begin the healing process and start to impart to them what being saved is all about but they have get in the door first. By Any Means Necessary. And if we feel that someone is doing something inappropriate than we need to incourage whoever it may be to maybe do it a little differently not discourage them because WE FEEL it's wrong. We all have our ways of praising God. There is no where in the Bible that states HOW He want us to bless Him and praise Him...He just wants us to do it. Basically you have to have a radical praise to understand a radical praiser.(it takes one to know one) Also take into consideration what his past may have been. We don't know ALL that he had to overcome and there may still be strongholds on him that through his RIDICAL PRAISE are being broken off him so that he can be as free as possible. We "christians" need to learn not to point the finger or bad mouth everything that we don't understand. Everything that God may give someone is not for everyone to understand.(what God has for me it is for me) If you are a rdical saint with a radical praise, if you are ready to break out of tradition and tear down the walls of the church, if you are ready to experience a greater more powerful demension in the spirit realm, even if you are craving for a new way to worship the Lord...this CD is for you. (Tonex, keep on doing what you're doing because you do it well. Get all that God has for you. Continue to do everything you do for the Lord so He will get the glory in all that you do. Let the haters hate because "The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you in one way and flee before you in seven ways. Gifts come WITHOUT repentance - Prime Example!.......2006-01-27

This young man has no anointing. I saw him live in concert in DC this past summer, and when the audience didn't quite react the way he thought they should, he kept saying that his voice was only 90% cause he has been touring, but that's not why they did not react, there was no evident anointing, and I went to see him specifically because I'm a fan of some of his recordings. DC has seen it all and this is no easy audience. You have to come correct here with the anointing! You can be as eclectic an artist as you please, but if God does not anointed it, It's only entertainment. Some may debate stepping out of the box is good, and it is, but when you step out it has to still be anointed. I don't need a "Gospel" version of anybody, I need to be ministered to under the unction of the Holy Spirit! Nor do we need a revolution in Gospel music, we need young folks who will stand and declare the delivering power of Jesus Christ, under the anointing of God!!!!!!! I like Tonex, but the anointing is universal, so you can't hide the fact that there is none, just cause you like the dude or his talent. The anointing doesn't just sound good, it destroys yokes! Gospel music is the good news of Jesus Christ! You can sing it, but the singer still has to be anointed, not just the words.

Forget talent and production, ONLY what you do for CHRIST will last!!!!! I'm praying for him!

I was completely blown AWAY.......2005-12-09

This anointed man of God is truly, truly blessed. I just recently got the DVD and, to say the least, I was completely blown away. This DVD has changed the way I look at Gospel music today. I am only 16 years old and I am crazy for God. I believe that Tonex was strategically placed, by God, in this time for young people. He has really touched my life in so many ways. Songs that have really made an impact on my life are Children's Bread, Spirit Realm, Make Me Over, Alive, Since Jesus Came, and Personal Jesus. My favorites are Games, Work On Me, Alive 2, or better yet, THE WHOLE DVD. Please get a copy. It will help you in more ways than one.

Beautiful European movie...perhaps simplistic at times.......2007-01-21

Much like in card or board games, in the realm of movies,
there are different styles or classes, each with a
different flavor, different approach, different visual
presentation and layout, different intellectual challenge.

In fact, BOX 507 (la caja 507), is a professionally
made, straight edge movie, with no nonsense elements that
could get it in trouble with censors, unlike in many American
productions, ( sex, violence, degradation etc.) This is a
welcome decision, as sometimes the excesses are redundant.

Therefore, the viewer is confronted with a European movie, a
thriller with immense visual, musical elements that are
beautiful in themselves, coupled with a stimulating story.

In fact, the Costa del Sol, ( SE Coast in Spain) was
the locale chosen for this motion picture, bringing many
interesting elements of the outdoors, for those who
haven't visited the region. There is no sign of a megapolis,
such as NYC, LA, Paris, London, Amsterdam or similar, in
that area of Spain, which is actually a benefit, in my view.

We are told that, even in this spectacular area of Spain,
political corruption, payoffs and bribes exist, as well as
tight partnerships between some mob expatriates from Italy,
located in that Spanish area, and some bankers, newspaper
men, and local politicians.

It tells of ecological devastation, in exchange for
the construction and commercial development of
those areas, for purposes of tourism (marina, high rises,
shopping centers) and the willingness of some of the elite, to
partake in this state of affairs, by either enriching themselves
admitedly or by turning a blind eye to the whole insidious process.

All in all, a beautiful European movie, perhaps a bit
simplistic at times, that will leave its mark on the
viewer by its realism. Clearly, the actors will be seen
more and more, such as the lovely Miriam Montilla, and
the very charismatic supporting actors, too.

Gripping Spanish thriller-drama.......2004-08-22

Enrique's Urbizu's Caja 507 (Box 507) is a strong, perfectly-plotted thriller that fuses crime and political corruption seamlessly. A bank manager's 16-year old daughter perishes while inside a tent in a forest fire and, seven years later, as the result of the robbery of the his bank, the manager discovers documents in one of the safety deposit boxes (hence the title) that relates to his daughter's death.

In the meantime, the corrupt former police chief becomes aware of these now-missing documents. The two men each independently track down those linked to what they must find, and this tracking down is the core of this excellent thriller. Involved here are the Mafia, corrupt officials, a sick wife, and a helpful reporter. The relentless momentum of the plotting is truly gripping and hair-raising; this is a film that can easily stand as a brilliant model of how to write and direct a thriller.

Highly recommended.

Two broadcast series, an OVA, and three theatrical features make Tenchi Muyo one of the most popular anime series. Seina Yamada is an adolescent geek living in Tenchi's home town of Okayama: a one-man destruction derby who only needs to walk by a piece of equipment for it to malfunction. Seina says he knows Tenchi, and when he enrolls in the Galaxy Police Academy as a joke, he finds himself training for the space force Mihoshi and Kiyoni belonged to. But neither they nor any other members of the familiar Tenchi gang appear. GXP also fails to capture the mixture of light-hearted romantic comedy and sci-fi adventure that made Tenchi a success. Seina appears barely pubescent, yet voluptuous adult women pursue him, which gives the humor a disquieting edge. GXP feels like a cynical attempt to cash in on an established franchise. One of the Best Animes I have Ever Seen.......2005-09-01

I'm not kidding in the title. I watch so many different animes (yet no other Tenchi Muyos) and not anyone could guess a show (both anime and american stuff) that I would give a 10.0 out of 10. They asked stuff pretty close like Yu Yu Hakusho (9.9) or Family Guy (9.9)... but they gave up and I told them it was Tenchi Muyo! GXP. Here's the story. Seina Yamada is an unlucky kid on Earth with only one riend named Kai. Seina seems to have a little bit of true feelings for Kai's older sister, Koriko. Then it happends. While riding his bike near Tenchi's house, he gets run over by a Galaxy Police ship. Of course, Seina is used to this sort of thing. He wakes up to see a beautiful woman named Amane that gave him CPR to make sure he was fine. She leaves a form to enter to enter the GP. (Galaxy Police) His family forces him to join and so he becomes part of the GP! But on his way to the academy, he finds himself in danger with pirates. But luckilly, Lady Sato (Devil Princess of Jirai) gets their distress signal and captures that huge group of pirates. What's this??? They get attacked again, by a woman named Ryoko. But, when she barges in, she get's an actual welcoming party from the ship's three goons. She doesn't attack this time. You'll find out why. Anyways, they make it to the academy and he finds a huge suprise. Koriko!!! She works there! So, Seina gets two roomates. He gets a little suprise with machines giving intruders embarrasing zits that are hard to wear off. But, once they get out... let the party begin!!! Wait a sec, it's Amane... or is it??? It's really Erma in disquise. So she... wait rewind... who is Erma??? Actually, she's someone Seina met once he reached the academy. Could there be a secret behind her??? Now to continue. She does human hunting. (experimenting) What experiments you ask??? You'll just have to find out for yourself. Those are the plots of the first 5 episodes, which are all in this volume. Sadly, all the other volumes contain only three episodes each. (instead of 5) You'll find many other characters in the theme song. But, they won't say their names in the theme song, but you can live with that, can't you??? Keep watching to see other adventures, like Seina living with 3 girls at one of their houses. Maybe something like... oh I don't know... Captain Seina Yamada!!! There are also many great enemies in his path like Shank, Seiryo, and even the great Daluma. But what happends when Seina comes back home with so many nnew people. You finally see Tenchi for one episode. Plus, you see how his family reacts to well... Amane, Koriko, Ryoko (that's right, she's after Seina), Neju, Fuku, and NB. You'll find out who they are. There are so many different characters. Plus in the end, what about graduation and marriage??? Trust me, you won't be as satisfied as you think you will in the marriage part. Watch Tenchi Muyo GXP. Then again, because of the marriage part on the final episode... I would give it a 9.9. But still, you must get it... even if you haven't seen a different Tenchi Muyo. (like me, at least for now)

Just ok, not as Good as the original OVA or Tenchi Universe.......2005-08-03

I watched this series and I have to say I cannot like the main male character lead (who's name is Siena) at all. He is even more whiny, nerdy and annoying then tenchi was. At least tenchi wasn't such a bad character and he definitely grew on you as you watched the series but the new hero you spend the entire GXP series with is quite a bit of a let down, it's difficult to imagine the women in GXP liking such badly written, badly voice acted and ugly looking character (Drawn well, but drawn purposely ugly), not to mention the the main Hero Siena in the original Japanese soundtrack was just the wrong voice actor to choose to play Siena, it really breaks the suspension of disbelief whenever you hear Siena speak when comparing to the other decent-to-excellent voice actors they enlisted to act the other girls who all love him.

The new girl characters that fawn all over the new hero are alright but much of the charm, humor and character in the new women leave a lot to be desired when comparing it to the original Tenchi OVA and Tenchi Universe, which had better scripts/writing for how the women act when the women fawn all over the hero over (like they do in all tenchi series). In Tenchi GXP the relationships between Siena and most of the women he meets feels jarring and unnatural, except the girl kiriko (his childhood friend/caretaker). One character who's love/attachment to Siena sticks out as fake especially is the "new" space pirate ryoko, the way it was written there was just not enough "new" ryoko time on the screen to develop any kind of meaningful attachment to Siena which feels weird while you're watching the series. The "New" ryoko is named after the original space pirate, who she is not related to and the blonde girl Siena meets in the first episode who leaves a brochure so he can choose to join the Galaxy Police.

The series starts out pretty slow and many of the characters are just plain immature as the relationships between the women and the hero (Seina) are dumbed down over the more subtle and complex characters in former Tenchi series like the older orgiinal OVA and Tenchi universe. For hardcore anime fans who always listen to Japanese soundtrack and turn on the subtitles, the voice acting in this series is below that of the prior Tenchi series (Tenchi Universe and Tenchi Muyo OVA).

The animation is pretty hit and miss, most of the characters are well drawn but the animation quality is all over the map throughout the episodes, lots of stills and cheap animation tricks like still frames with only easy things to animate like laser blasts that just appear. Overall the animation effort only gets grade C- from me.

Seina is a dud.......2005-06-12

Seina Yamada is a geek who is also a classmate of Tenchi and he's living in Tenchi's home town of Okayama, Japan. He wanted to become a Galaxy Police but the joke's on him when he finds out he was training for space force with two familiar faces, Mihoshi and Kiyoni from Tenchi Universe $ Tenchi in Tokyo. Tenchi Muyo GXP isn't like the series that was shown on Toonami. This show has no romantic comady and sci-fi adventure but the anime is good coming from Funimation.

What is Tenchi?.......2004-12-27

Tenchi is more than just an anime and manga series, it's now a pop-culture phenominon in Japan, and a cult classic in the US. This television series seems almost an apology letter to Tenchi fans who have been waiting for new episodes for several years. It is chock full of interesting characters and much needed hilarity. True if you kept your ear to the ground Magical Project S has helped ease the wait for new Tenchi, (not to mention The Wanderers, El Hazard and Dual) but like that tv series this one may not be exactly what you were hoping for either.

The Tenchi name has become a subtext for intergalatic hijinks and sincere but unforced heart... so the true meaning of Tenchi Muyo (No Need for Tenchi) is exemplified in this series. Tenchi and his friends are reduced to cameos to delve into the world of Galaxy Police. But even First Class Detective Mihoshi of the GP isn't seen very much, (unless you count her twin sister Mitoto). And her missing in action partner Kiyone is apparently still stuck in space after what happened in the Pretty Sammy OVA (Original Video Animation, as opposed to a movie or tv show) DVD. So what do we have here?

Seina Yamada, an underclassmen of Tenchi, has quite possibly the worst luck in the universe. One day as he goes for a usual bike ride (if that's what you want to call it, you lose count of how many parts on it break in the first episode due to his luck) when his tires go flat. He decides to go to Tenchi's house for help, when he is nearly drowned by a spaceship landing near the lake at Tenchi's house. Nope it's not main-stay Mihoshi, but rather a young beautiful detective named Amane. Amane gives Seina a pamplet after some very fast talking and even faster flirting before she blasts off. Seina's mother and sister make him sign the pamphlet, (thinking that they've won a prize of some sort) and the next thing you know Seina wakes up in space. Dealing with bad luck all his life, Seina eventually decides to become a Galaxy Police officer... much to the dismay of his childhood friend and love interest Kiriko, whom we discover later is also a member of the GP.

Perhaps the attempt to "cash-in on the popularity of Tenchi" can be forgiven because the characters and the humor is so good, (unlike Tenchi in Tokyo, which you might have noticed that I excluded earlier in this review since I deny it's very existence :). Let's face it, not everything has to make perfect sense, and sometimes it's good to watch something a bit "mindless" for lack of a better term. Sometimes the players fit their rather cliche' roles too well, but you can't help but love them because they mean well and usually end up fighting for the right causes and reasons.

What may not be so easy to forgive is the new publisher of this series. The English language version is awful, I've heard worse dubbing but not very many. The reason for my distaste in this is because important story, plot and even humor points are often ignored in the translation. This was not the case with earlier Tenchi Muyo series, but now it's quite abundant and intolerable. Avoid the English track at all costs, (real anime fans should only be watching in Japanese anyway).

Another downside is the very packaging of these DVDs. Apparently Anime companies figured out that they can make more money selling individual copies of a DVD series rather than putting together a whole box set. Hence this version, including only the first DVD a calender and an empty box. Not only that, but while other anime favorites like The Slayers puts 7 episodes on a disc, Tenchi Muyo! GXP only puts 5 on the first disc, and 3 episodes on the other seven. Talk about greed.

On the confusing end, this story takes place 2 years after the original Tunchi Muyo! OVA. So when Tenchi and everyone do appear, playing catch-up is more difficult than you can imagine. Even if you've been reading the No Need For Tenchi manga comics, (which explain what happened after the OVAs) you'll end up scratching your head at a few points. Especially at the fully expanded and possibly far more inbred, (or just plain bred) than anyone had suspected Jurian family.

However the content within more than makes up for any and all of the downsides. If you liked any of the Tenchi, Pretty Sammy or Magical Project S series (or their sister series The Wanderers: El Hazard, El Hazard OVA, and Dual: Parallel Trouble Adventure which has a surprize cameo near the end here)... then you'll love this guaranteed. If you're new to anime comedy, then this is a great place to start as well! Don't miss out!

The most unlucky boy in the world..........2004-06-21

Seina Yamada is from Earth, but through a series of accidents and strange events, he ends up joining the Galaxy Police. He'll meet Pirates and Princesses, sexy Police Detectives and weird aliens (some of which are also sexy). Will he survive space travel? Will he survive having so many females trying to help him? Will he survive dorm life?
While he might be unlucky, he does have a few good points. He has a good heart and REALLY wants to explore space and learn about life off the planet Earth. So it looks like he plans to stay with the Galaxy Police, no matter what happens.
This first DVD has five episodes, a few extras and a lot of fun. The GXP TV series is linked to the Tenchi Muyo! OVAs by using some of the same settings and some characters related to the OVA characters. We get a glimpse of Ryoko, we meet Mihoshi's mom, it seems that the dorm security system was designed by Dr. Clay, and we learn that the Jurai Family Tree is more of a over-cooked bowl of spaghetti. The artwork is great, with heavy use of computer graphics for the ships and many of the combat scenes. I just loved the pirate Rats and the marks that could not be shown on TV. Warning: The subtitles for the Japanese version IS different from the English version (which I believe is meant to help the hearing impaired). So if you want a direct translation listen to the Japanese audio with the subtitles - it does seem to make more sense too. Keep the pause button ready.
