Editorial Review:
Description
Robin Gibb, backed with a full orchestra, plays hits from both his Bee Gees and solo careers in a spectacular concert filmed in Bonn, Germany in September 2004. Robin Gibb is one third of the Bee Gees, one of the most successful vocal groups of all time. The Bee Gees have sold over 100 million albums over their 3-decade career, and their catalog still consistently sells. A new Best Of CD and DVD (both were released in late 2004) have continued this trend.

Robin's #1 FAN.......2007-05-12
I absolutly love this DVD. I have the CD, as well. I was lucky enough to see the Bee Gees, "LIVE" in 1979. Back then, Barry was the "sex symbol". Over the years, I've come to respect Robin's vibrada, as being the best in the business. I miss Maurice but if you're a huge Robin fan like me, You need this DVD. To see him perform LIVE, "Bee Gee" classics as well as his own solo hits, it just blew me away. You can accuately "see" how he produces that sound. It's the voice of an angel. I'd also suggest buying the "This Is Where I Come In" DVD. It takes you from their beginnings to modern day. In their own words, with video of the group before they were a group. I watch them both, over & over !!
Robin is not heard.......2007-02-08
The best voice of the BeeGees can't really be heard on this DVD. I tried running it through the reciever, tried Hall, Stadium, Theater. He gets drowned out on every song by the back ground singers and the instruments..............It's a shame cuz he has such a good voice, maybe it's where it was recorded. Robin.........do you read this stuff??? Try a better recording place and do Maurice proud!
Love this DVD!!.......2006-06-06
I really enjoyed this DVD. As a longtime Bee Gees fan as well as a huge follower of Robin's solo career I was very happy to see him singing his own songs as well as Bee Gees songs. Hearing a different take on the songs, but still keeping them within the Bee Gees was really nice. Some of the other reviewers on here think he should stick to his own songs--I think that since he helped write like all of the Bee Gees songs they're just as much his to sing as Barry's. He isn't claiming to be better than the Bee Gees or "do it all on his own", he is simply singing the songs he wrote and loved to perform with his brothers. It's a nice tribute to the Bee Gees. This DVD is a simple, relaxed, fun acoustic performance. The crowd really gets into it--especially on his solo smash "Juliet", where they sing the chorus way after the band has stopped playing it.
At times the orchestra is really strong and seems to overpower him a bit but for the most part his voice and the orchestra sound very nice together. I love hearing Robin's soulful unique voice all raw and unedited like this.
I'd recommend this DVD for any Bee Gee fans, and of course this is a must-have for Robin Gibb fans. It is a very sweet and charming performance and to be honest it is a lot better than I expected after reading all the negative reviews on here!
Poor Sound.......2006-03-13
I bought the DVD expecting a high quality sound, but the sound was very poor.
Excellent DVD.......2006-03-11
If you're a fan of the Bee Gees then this DVD is for you. The tracks are either Robin's songs or Bee Gees songs and are done well with the backing of the Frankfurt Orchestra. This all makes "Orchestral" Robin Gibb come out smelling like a rose. Overall, the DVD is a treat for the fans as it captures Robin rebounding well from the loss of his twin brother and seeking redemption and life in music.
What slowly emerges out of the DVD is not whether Robin should have covered Barry's songs (sounds like a silly argument at a home for the elderly) but that music can be a catalyst for finding that life is worth living if only people will give it a try.
