For those who love Abba (and if you're reading this, chances are you do, even if you don't know it yet), Abba: The Definitive Collection represents a happy, joyous compilation of the Swedish supergroup's numerous videos. Granted, they all seem to have been filmed on the same soundstage (even the firelit "Fernando"), but they retain their appeal and infectious charm. Fans can thrill to these vintage clips, which provide an opportunity to rediscover who was the most natural in front of the camera (Agnetha), who was the best dancer (Anna-Frid, a.k.a. Frida), who was the most demure (Benny), and who was the worst lip-syncher (Bjorn--always Bjorn). Lassé Hallstrom, later an Oscar®-nominated filmmaker, directed most of the early videos, and it shows in their natural, no-fuss style; it wasn't until Abba tried to make the jump to '80s-style electronica that they faltered in both style and content. In addition to old standbys like "Waterloo" and "Take a Chance on Me," don't pass up the light-years-ahead-of-its time "The Day Before You Came," or the live performance of "Dancing Queen" (in period costume!) at the Royal Swedish Opera. To this we say: Thank you for the music--and the videos! --Mark Englehart

5 out of 5 stars The ONLY Abba DVD that you will ever need to buy.......2007-05-08

'Abba - The Definitive Collection' has every music video that Abba has ever made. Some songs that I had never heard before, such as "Bang a Boomerang", were a pleasant surprise. I also own 'Abba Number Ones' DVD, but everything on Number Ones is also on The Definitive Collection except for some live bonus tracks at the end. The best videos are: "Money, Money, Money"; "One of Us" esp. the fadeout of Agnetha at the end; "Chiquitita" featuring Agnetha looking her best and which is also the longest video at over 5 minutes; and "Eagle". Too bad "Lay all your love on me" didn't make it as it is also a great song.

5 out of 5 stars DEFINITIVE ABBA.......2007-03-21

THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION IS A GREAT DVD WITH A MIX OF ALL OF THEIR HITS TO A FEW LITTLE SPECIALTIES LIKE "I KISSED THE TEACHER". I NEVER GET TIRED OF LISTENING TO THIS GROUP. WHEN THEIR FINAL ALBUM WAS RELEASED I DIDN'T LIKE MOST OF IT AT THE TIME BUT NOW I REALIZE THAT WE WERE SEEING A GROUP COME OF AGE. I THINK THIS WAS A GROUP WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIMES. ON THE CUTTING EDGE OF NEW SOUNDS. THE TECHNO BEAT AND SOUND ON THEIR FINAL CUTS ARE MAGNIFACENT.
THIS IS A GREAT COLLECTION FOR AVID ABBA FANS OR JUST CASUAL LISTENERS.THE DVD IS CLEAR AND AS COLORFUL AS THEIR COSTUMES. SOMETIME I LAUGH AT MYSELF FOR STILL LISTENING TO ABBA, FOR I AM OVER 50 YEARS OLD. THEY JUST MAKE ME FEEL SO GOOD. ABBA FOREVER!!

5 out of 5 stars THE ONLY ABBA DVD YOU'LL EVER NEED.......2007-01-18

THE BEST MUSIC DVD EVER, IT HAS RANDOM/SHUFFLE, repeat, and the photo gallery has the full soundtrack.
Every other music DVD should have the features and quality of this one.

Additionally, it's family friendly (a rare commidity nowdays).

Studio singing sounds better than live singing.

Kids love the many colorfull costumes.

Anni-Frid, Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha.

5 out of 5 stars Very good.......2007-01-10

It was a wift to my wife. She enjoyed it a lot. Now is part of her valuable collection.

5 out of 5 stars ABBA , The definitive collection is my Favorite DVD.......2007-01-06

If you are an ABBA fan at all, get this DVD. I have watched it quite a few times, and when I start watching, it is very difficult to stop. All of my favorite ABBA tunes are on this Disc, and a lot of other very good tracks. This not actually a concert DVD, but videos that were made for commercial purposes when the band was performing, and then strung together later to make the DVD. The thing that makes it interesting is that is not a continuous performance, and this allows a lot more creative opportunities
