Description
Formed in 1964, the Moody Blues emerged as one of the most renowned bands of the psychedelic era. Between 1965 and 1973, the band had 7 Top-30 singles on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, including their classic "Nights In White Satin", which soared to #2 on the charts. After a 5-year hiatus, they returned in the late 70's with several minor hits, until releasing "Your Wildest Dreams" in 1986, which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart (and went #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts).
The Moody Blues' lone appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival occurred on July 3, 1991 at the Montreux Casino, while in support of their Keys Of The Kingdom album. The group (which includes long-time members Justin Hayward, Graeme Edge, John Lodge, and Ray Thomas) performs a number of their biggest hits, including "Gemini Dream", "Nights In White Satin", "I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock & Roll Band)", and "Your Wildest Dreams".

Moody Memories.......2007-07-04
Always nice to see the Moodies. Would have been nice to see more of Ray Thomas playing tamborine, bored. Memories are great. To see and hear them is always a treat. Not too crazy about the back-up girls, though. If you are a fan, then you will get a kick out of this video.
Did I see the same show?.......2007-05-15
I recently purchased this DVD and I have to say I am a bit puzzled at some of the negative comments that I have read here. I have to wonder do I have the same DVD as these folks do? I thought it was great!! Yes there seemed to be some sort of technical stuff going on with the mics on a couple of the early songs, but it straightened itself out and sounded fine the rest of the show. But overall I thought it was a wonderful concert. I especially loved seeing John "show-off" his incredible rhythm while dancing about the stage before & during the encore of RMSS. IMO, this version of 'Ride My See-saw' is the best "modern" live rendition I have yet to see/hear. Justin was his usual great self throughout the show and it was so nice to see dear Ray still enjoying himself on stage.
I would definitely recommend this DVD!
As Ever So Slight Problem.......2006-04-19
This DVD would have had more appeal if it were released WITHOUT a sound track! That's not to imply that the filming was anything to look at either. If I had to wrap up my feelings after watching it one time into one word, that one word would be "PAINFUL".
Forget-about-it.......2006-04-15
Within ten minutes of viewing this abortion of a production, I ejected the disc and ran it through my document shredder as to destroy the evidence that it ever existed. I did so as not to soil my complete collection of the truly great work they have accomplished. This was without a doubt the worst DVD in the universe. I cannot believe for one moment that this was endorsed by the group -- for if they had any connection with it and any sense -- they would have purchased back the rights and destroyed it themselves. Yes folks, it was that bad.
Great music.......2006-03-13
I actually bought this at the same time that I got their latest "Lovely To See You" so it was interesting to compare them. The Montreux DVD was recorded back in 1991 whereas the "Lovely..." DVD was more recent in about 2005 and at the Greek Theater in LA. "Lovely..." has the lovely Norda Mullen standing in for Ray Thomas and the DVD features twenty songs rather than the fifteen on the Montreux DVD. More Moodies is always a good thing. Either DVD is a good choice, but I really like the "Lovely To See You" DVD, I'm not sure exactly why. It could be that the sound quality seems a bit better ... but then figure that it was made fourteen years later with all the digital advances.
