Description

It has been a LONG TIME since I've laughed so hard at a movie.
I know, I know. It's not a comedy. Still, it was SOOO funny.
They tried to make a 'serious (yet wholesome) suspense movie' and their effort was pretty good. It looked good enough, but there was so much that simply fell flat. I'll list a few (but only a few :)

-The devastating hailstorm ravages an area for a few minutes, but afterwards, there is no hail on the ground (there also should have been a number of corpses, but...)
-The Dad said "Get inside the house!" And then we said "What house?!?! In the last shot we watched it turn into a burning pile of rubble. What house is she supposed to get into?!?!" (Crazy how that hail would set all these building on fire...)
-A girl is being suspended by a rope, and is feriecy pelted by hailstones. The onlookers keep yelling "Stay still!! Stay still!!" and we yell "What is she hanging there! What is she suppsed to do!?!?"

I would still recommend people to get it. (I'm going to buy it myself.) Just don't expect some real great movie. Unless you want a laugh... :)

    I bought this DVD a couple of weeks ago in Luxemburg in a store as a special bargain, but i have to say that it really wasn't worth the money. All crashes are known to everyone that watches car reaces on tv. Nothing special,only old stuff.

      What's most interesting about this video is the antique footage. The older and very heavy stock cars provide some interesting off-roading on the dirt tracks, though there aren't quite so many pile-ups. I was rather pleased with the early F1 and stock car films, if video qualtiy isn't a big issue, and this DVD works up through the decades quite steadily. What was quite disappointing is the lack of modern footage, as the coverage stops in the late 70's, and the fact almost all the natural sound has been patched over with crummy snippets from a generic sound effects CD, as well as the obviously inexperienced narrator (who is easy to ignore, thankfully). There's also a let-down for auto fans, as the whole "side B" is reserved for repetitive, unnarrated clips of people slipping off their motorbikes. The bikini contest is hardly tame and has some good camera shots. Overall, a good party video, if you cut the audio and run music in the background. :)

      I found all 3 DVDs in this series very boring. I was expecting to see crashes from racing series people have actually heard of, like NASCAR or F1 or NHRA, or maybe even things like sprint cars. However, the crashes seen in these videos seem to be from very small and unimportant leagues that nobody has ever heard of, and also these crashes are nothing new and you can see most of them on the freeway. It also seems that most of the footage was shot in either the 70's or 80's, which isn't very entertaining. Save your money,

          Also known as "Crash Mania". Five hours of motor sports action on three DVDs is absolute party-time fun, only if you're a die-hard enthusiast who care the very less over below-average video quality and muffled announcers speaking out of a king-size glass bottle. The experience contains a massive variety of banging thrills and slippery spills from monster trucks, hot rods, motocrossers, Indy cars, and lots more -- and there's bikini-clad models to tantalize. Its quiz portions consisting of five true-false questions about driving safety has some cleverly old stock footage shown for eight seconds, but unless you know the answers with a snap of the brain, they can get really boring (after all, you just might learn something!). There also should have been more sections to choose in the scene access (only eight in each disc). If you have a closet space of old sports blooper tapes, this isn't the best recommendation to justify another DVD addition. For some, this is worth the pleasure since tracking problems won't harm your faithful DVD machine. A reasonably good buy aimed at motormaniacs.
