Of all American patriotic songs, the words to the Star Spangled Banner best represent the loyalty and vigor with which the country was founded.TABLE OF CONTENTS: The Star-Spangled Banner (1940) - 2 minutes running time - This is vintage Technicolor footage of the flowing American flag over a rendition of the American national anthem . This is a wonderful piece of American video history that was mostly shown prior to the feature presentation in movie theatres during the WWII era. Movietone News: The Star-Spangled Banner (1942) - 2 minutes running time - This film features terrific editing of transparent American flags backed by military images. These images say a lot about the tense, militant state of mind during this historical period. What an awesome short from the early 1940s! Story of Our Flag (1938) - 10 minutes running time - An excellent classroom movie, which shows a complete history of the United States flag, ranging from the colonial period to the 20th century. The animation in this feature is especially interesting and entertaining.
