CoF IS METAL.......2007-01-10

I remember about 5 years ago I went over to a friends house.. She asked me if I liked Cradle of Filth.. At the time I had no clue who they were.. They were still underground at the time.. So we watched the VHS of PanDaemonAeon & ever since then I was hooked. Since then I've gotten every cd by them and I'm currently working on collecting the DVDs as well.

Let me say, this is an excellent dvd. From the cradle to enslave is a good music video and the "making of" part is really funny. The concert footage is not as good as the footage on Heavey left-handed and candid, but Dani's little intro's before each song are rather funny so id recommend it to any CoF fan.

Cradle of Filth- one of the absolute best bands of today (the others being Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Opeth, and old In Flames) Another black gem from the twisted corpse that is Dani Filth. This dvd was hilarious, the music video was good (though not great; my favorite black metal music video is Dimmu Borgir- "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse") the making of was also funny and Cradle put on an awesome live show (come back to Atlanta, CoF! I missed your November show!) All in all, well worth the money for fans of the band, of black metal, or of Satan in general...VwV

If you are a Cradle Of Filth fan , you simply MUST have this DVD!!!! The Un-cut version of "From The Cradle To Enslave" IS FANTASTIC!!! Directed by Alex Chandon ("Cradle Of Fear") film Director, this really is what Cradle Of Filth Is truely about!! The Live performances are Fantastic!! (They really put on a Terrific show!!) I highly recommend this DVD to all C.O.F. fans, If you are new to this band this is a excellent way to see them in all their glory!!Also make sure to check out the "Heavy Left Handed and Candid" DVD. Together the two DVD's Make for an excellent night of PURE FILTH!! Fantastic Songs, Fantastic videos, and well worth the price!! Don't hesitate!! LONG LIVE FILTH and LONG LIVE METAL!!!

Cradle Of Wonderful Gore!!!!.......2005-01-26

If you haven't seen the uncut video for From the Cradle to Enslave...... slap yourself. This video could have been pieced together from clippings on the Hammer Horror cutting floor. Mix with a bunch of circus freaks and you have the genius that is the twisted mind of Danni Filth.

I bought this DVD expecting to see lots of Death Metal Music and some behind the scenes banter. What I got was all talk from the some of the genre's least dynamic bands. The talking goes on endlesly and they have nothing to say. There is hardly any music on this disk and hardly any of it is worth listening to. I am a fan of all metal... Black, Death, Progressive, Power, Nu, Whatever.... And this disk is weak!

Death Metal: A Documentary is an in depth look into Death Metal featuring narration from the bands themselves. This is definitly a can't miss buy for any hardcore DM fan. That being said, everyone else will probably want to avoid this one. They tend to focus more on less talented acts such as Carnivore and Mortician while giving greats such as James Murphy(Death, Testament) George "Corpsegrinder" Fischer (Cannibal Corpse, Monstrosity)and Cronos(Venom) little 5 second clips or a minute or two to talk. The biggest problem I have with this is the insane amount of time they give Peter Steele. Yeah he was in a DM band way back in the day but they were never very good and the producers of this aren't fooling anyone with their attempt to make this somewhat accesible by including him. Only about 5 of his 40 minutes are spent talking about Carnivore anyway, the rest of the time he just b^tches about Roadrunner. I like Type O Negative but theres no way Pete Steele belongs in a movie about death metal. If they were going to include Pete Steele why not In Flames, Dark Tranquility or some of the other more expirimental DM acts as well, their way more DM than Pete Steele. Bands that get the biggest time slots are Pete Steele, Malignancy, Brutal Truth, Immolation, Mortician, and Amon Amarth. Bands that get about 1 minute clips are Venom, Cannibal Corpse,Suffocation, God Dethroned,and James Murphy. Includes video/concert clips from Brutal Truth, Haemorrage, Deranged, Carcass, Suffocation, and Amon Amarth.

first off peter gets way too much time for this dvd ( its about death metal!!!! not your job picking up trash in new york ) and they cut the live songs, suffocation plays the first half of a new song and then it cuts. THAT JUST SUCKS!!! but they do have cool interviews with some cool guys in death metal ( brutal truth, suffocation , death & mortician ) and some funny promo clips from deranged & brutal truth )
i just hope next time, they won't cut live songs
keep buying death metal from amazon!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha,ha,ha, it was a shinning moment for the late Paul Baloff (Exodus), Kirk Hamment (Exodus,Metallica), 80s pretty boy Sebastian Bach, Mr Paul Stanley (Kiss), Ugly Kid Mr. Crane and many other rock n roll and metal stars some still in glory and some fallen but all of them showing good sense of humor, well Stormtroopers of death!!! S.O.D., "speak inglish or die" "Pi alpha nu" "milk" "the ballad of Jimmi Hendrix" "the ballad of Michael Hutenche" , "the ballad of Frank Sinatra" etc etc , thousands of songs played in a couple of minutes and many other played in seconds, thats rigth, in seconds!!! if youre a S.O.D. junkie like me already know that, but if you dont i guess you are intrigued, this guys were pioneers in extreme hardcore with metal influences, funny and angry lyrics at the same time, lots of drugs , lots of guts, pure adrenaline!!!! situations are so funny, the "youre fired!!!" sequences, TRL requests from suposed terrorists, "Guiness records" for the most songs played in fourtheen seconds,late Dimebag drinking with Scott Ian on the stage, Dan Lillker smoking pot, sing along lyrics on the track "Charlie dont Cheat" and thousands of surprises "kill yourself" is a nice document in the inconstant life of this band/side project called "Stormtroopers of Death" maybe we can enjoy them every six or ten years but every time they reunite they reward their fans for the patience at 100%

This movie is definitly a must have for any s.o.d. fan. It contains all of the bands classics performed live and tons of hilarious backstage footage. The only problem with the live footage is that the sound quality is very poor and it makes them look horrible live. The backstage footage makes up for it though

This DVD is the reason you should get a DVD player, or at least run out and buy a PlayStation 2. The boys in SOD have put together a blur of video montages over studio tracks, intermixed with parts of two live performances, albeit with somewhat lower than average audio quality. Add to that a bunch of hilarious tour footage, celebrity appearances, Billy Milano antics, and other miscellaneous interview stuff, and this is one piece of heavy-duty entertainment. If that wasn't enough, this DVD has a commentary track, where Scott Ian jokes around and tells insane stories behind all of the live clips. There's also some bonus
performance material that requires a secret code you can get on their Web site. If you don't know much about SOD, this is an excellent overview, and if you are a diehard fan, it's essential. My only two complaints: it's impossible to find this DVD in stores, despite the fact that the morons at Nuclear Blast will tell you it's available everywhere (I guess they have it here at Amazon.com though), and why can't I tour Japan or Brazil and have masses of hot chicks chasing me at the airport?

This is a must have for any S.O.D fan. In addition to their blistering live show, the backstage goings-on are included: featuring a wasabi eating contest, Milano making fun of Lilker, Scott Ian making fun of Norweigan death metal, Karoke Mercyful Fate, an appearance of Just Shoot Me's 'Kevin', and Milano's constant utterings of 'You're Fired!' Get this DVD!

This DVD features a live S.O.D. show inter-cut with tons and tons of backstage/interview/candid footage. I love S.O.D.'s music and the live concert stuff was great; but the real reason to buy this video is for the hilarious behind-the-scenes stuff. Every time I've watched the video I've had a big, goofy smile plastered on my face the entire time. The commentary track is laugh-out-loud funny too. Sgt.D says "buy this DVD now!" (and make sure you pay attention to the FBI warning).
