Just one episode of the TV series of that name is on this DVD. The back copy of the DVD case reads:

"In the Holy Land today dozens of specialized archaeologists and their teams diligently sift through the sands of history.

Their quest is a sizeable one: to unlock the mysteries of vanished civilizations and the people who built them. What are the origins of this special discipline known as "Biblical archaeology"? And what enthralling secrets of the scriptures have these scientists discovered? Journey through the portals of time with some of the greatest excavators in history: from the eccentric Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie, who willed that his head be removed and preserved after his death, to the husband-and-wife team of Eric and Carol Meyers."

Wish it had been anywhere near as fascinating as that makes it sound. Whoever wrote that must have seen something far more interesting than what made it onto the DVD. Basically, this DVD is a fluff, scant, outline of Drs. Meyers' careers with a few other tidbits thrown in to fill out the forty-three minutes. Surely their decades long careers of digging up history in the Holy Land is interesting enough for history, archaeology, and Bible buffs that they merit more than filler fodder on one misnomered TV episode/DVD. The whole episode just never gets off of the ground.

Also, this is obviously overpriced. For $20+, an entire season of episodes should be included. That way, at least viewers unfamiliar with the show would know that it's usually entertaining and informative.

You'll learn far more about the Bible's greatest secrets (dun, dun, dun, dun), history and archaeology just by poking around on the Internet for five minutes than you will from this.
