Editorial Review:
Description
Concorde, the world's first supersonic airliner, triumphed over politics and technology to take air transport into a totally new dimension. This unique DVD charts the progress of this historic Anglo-French project, from the drawing board through test pilots Trubshaw and Turcat's first flights in 1969 and into the next century at twice the speed of sound. With millions spent on its development, Concorde is unlikely ever to be replaced, and this visual history pays timely tribute to an aircraft that pushed the frontiers of passenger flight to their limits.

The 1982 sequel to Airplane! is basically more of the same class-clown ironies but with a more forced feeling to the jokes. In the first film, veterans such as Peter Graves, Robert Stack, and Lloyd Bridges were feeling their way through self-parody, and the air of experimentation was part of the fun. By this film, however, everybody knows what's up, and the assuredness of new cast members Raymond Burr, William Shatner, and Chuck Connors is almost counterproductive. Still, there's lots to laugh about. --Tom Keogh

4 out of 5 stars Good Movie - Funny Jokes - Something Missing ???.......2007-06-28

I loved the first Airplane! and this was pretty good too :) But something was missing from this to take it to the top of my movie list. Maybe Leslie Neilsen not being in the cast had something to do with it but overall this movie is a great Saturday night treat :)

A lot of the jokes are funny and I love the physical and visual gags that they do just like in the original.

Overall I'd say rent it, buy it cheap, or watch it on TV. If you liked the first you'll probably like this one too, but as with my suggestion when watching Monty Python's Holy Grail, you might want to be high when you watch it

3 out of 5 stars Not a bad sequel, but Shatner scenes overrated.......2007-01-22

Of course, "Airplane 2" isn't quite as good as the first film, but it's still amusing, and short. I think its running time is less than 90 minutes. My favorite character in the movie is Chad Everett playing that stereo-typical disaster movie character, the guy who "cut corners" and caused the mishap. He said something like, "Striker, they made me cut corners on those designs." And Striker punches him. Earlier in the movie he says something like, "Striker, I'd watch my step if I were you." Then he finally turns to jelly...literally.

And the only thing I didn't like about this film is William Shatner. Everybody seems to love him in this film, but I've never found Shatner funny when he tries to do this kind of comedy. His humor always seemed forced and overdone. Comedy doesn't flow out of him smoothly and naturally like it does out of say, Leslie Nielsen. Now there's a funny guy. Lloyd Bridges was way funnier than Shatner, too. I love Shatner as Kirk, but in comedic roles, no.

5 out of 5 stars funny movie.......2007-01-19

another good movie, you can watch this many times without getting tired of it. Lots of jokes, play on words.

2 out of 5 stars Airplane2.......2007-01-11

Very dissapointed, but then sequels are very seldom better than the origional. I can highly recommend the origional, one of the funniest flying movies ever

5 out of 5 stars Airplane 2.......2006-08-28

You'll laugh your [...] off. It sends up the 60s, the 70s, the 80s (which were just beginning), pop culture, sci-fi, sequels, and its predecessor. I thought it was funnier than the original. Some people didn't. It's not important. It's hilarious. That's important. It's a keeper, same as the first movie. You know you'll watch it over and over again and find things you missed before.

Roger Corman produced this shameless Jaws rip-off at the height of the "nature gone wild" boom of American cinema and struck B-movie gold. Scripted by John Sayles and directed by Joe Dante, this tongue-in-cheek thriller stars Bradford Dillman (doing his best Rip Torn impression) as an antisocial mountain man and Heather Menzies as a rookie detective who race a school of mutant piranha downriver. Dante and Sayles provide the requisite blood and gore for this drive-in meat market: a kids' summer camp and a waterfront amusement park await the little beasties. Along the way, riverside retiree Keenan Wynn gets his ankles stripped clean, camp counselor Paul Bartel is chomped on the cheek by a hungry little bugger who takes to the air, and hordes of unlucky bathers are caught in the center of a feeding frenzy. What differentiates this little gem from the legion of similar knockoffs are the satirical swipes at military arrogance and crass commercialism, Dante's energetic enthusiasm, and the bursts of black humor: "Lost River Lake: Terror, horror, death. Film at 11." The culty cast also includes Invasion of the Body Snatchers's Kevin McCarthy as the hysterical scientist guarding the creatures, horror diva Barbara Steele as a devious government researcher, and longtime Corman regular Dick Miller as an unscrupulous entrepreneur ("Sir, the piranha are eating the guests").

The DVD features good-humored commentary by director Joe Dante and producer Jon Davison, who also narrate the 10 minutes of good-quality home-movie footage shot by Davison. There are also six minutes of outtakes. --Sean Axmaker

4 out of 5 stars Locals will get a kick out this.......2007-04-21

This film was made at Aquarena Springs resort in San Marcos, Texas, home of Texas State University, the school President LBJ graduated from. The resort used to have mermaids and scuba divers put on a show along with a swimming pig. The university bought the park in the early 1990s to use as a preserve and to study water and environmental resource issues. The area it was filmed in is the most constantly inhabited region in all of North America, with records showing a continuous presence for more than 5,000 years straight. Piranha is not the only film shot in San Marcos, a lazy college town in between Austin and San Antonio, as the films The Getaway and The Ringer are two others that were made here. Although we don't have nearly as many films made here as Austin (Austin is probably the fourth biggest film city in the US behind New York, LA and Chicago), it's cool to know we attract filmmakers. Viewers will get nostalgic to see the old Aquarena Springs and a time when San Marcos was small, even more laid back and uncorrupted by corporate chains. If you like silly, tongue in cheek flicks on a shoe string budget, you'll like Piranha. Joe Dante got his start directing films like this before he went on to make it big with Gremlins....

4 out of 5 stars Scary, but a short film..........2007-04-04

I don't know whether to give this film (3)stars or (4). I saw this movie I believe in the 1980's I was born in 1974, so to young to know about this film all the way. During the 80's when I saw this film it was quiet scary, now after just watching this movie in 2007, well its still scary but its alittle rusty from over the years. The one disappointment is the film is a tad bit to short of a film. Maybe back in the 1970's this was normal, maybe not. It really just came and went. At the end there's not really a clear understanding if the poison actually kill most of them or what? Now there is a Part 2 movie on Piranha, which even at the end of this movie she says they can't survive in the ocean, but they do, thus spawns a Part 2. Overall, this is a good movie for its time, and the special effects are good for a 1978 film. Its worth a watch.

3 out of 5 stars Jaws it isn't, but it's definitely worth a watch.......2007-01-10

Somehow this B horror movie manages to be entirely ridiculous, and yet still entertain. Piranha walks the thin line between intentionally campy and seriously trying to scare. And it does so better than most horror films. I think the grainy films of the 70's just work better for horror. When everything's crisp you actually have to have good acting, good script, and good effects.

This film has a mediocre amount of all three of those. The piranha (genetically altered by the government, MUTANT piranha, I mean) are never really seen clearly, so their realism isn't that big a deal. The plot revolves around some campers that go missing and a woman sent to find them. She somehow immediately decides they must have disappeared at the old abandoned military facility and breaks through the locked gate to get in. Then she decides to drain their pool to see if the bodies are there, unknowingly releasing mutant piranhas into a quiet Texas river.

What ensues is one of the sillier horror/action(?) escapades ever on the screen. The two heros travel down the river on a makeshift raft to warn everyone of the piranhas and make sure that the dam doesn't get opened, releasing the piranha on to a children's summer camp.

Of course, the piranha know when anyone is in the river at any point throughout and will be there to nibble them apart in a matter of seconds. Anyway, the film never bores and the gore is pretty believable. It's also got the gratuitous breast flashing expected in early horror movies, and the open ending.

The best part of the DVD is the blooper reel. If I had my way, every movie would have a blooper reel. This one is especially good, because they're from the 70's. How many blooper reels are 30 years old?

4 out of 5 stars I'l have a little bite of this and a little bite of that..........2006-04-07

This film has various things going on in it. At times it is quite funny and tongue-in-cheek. But it does have it's ominous moments. One that stands out the most is when the summer camp kids are being nibbled on and watch their nice counselor get taken down by the relentless fish. The music during that scene is intense. But it doesn't stay too serious for very long. Not when we still have a large supply of annoying tourists to take care of down the river.
Here's the thing with a film like this: If you don't like your humour dark, you're not going to like it. But if you appreciate a good helping of cheese in your film diet, this film should fill you up. Happy Eating!!!

3 out of 5 stars Piranha (1978).......2006-01-09

Director: Joe Dante
Cast: Bradford Dillman, Heather Menzies, Kevin McCarthy, Keenan Wynn, Dick Miller, Barbara Steele, Belinda Balaski, Melody Thomas Scott, Bruce Gordon.
Running Time: 94 minutes
Rated R for violence, gore, language, and nudity.

Piranha" is a very engaging and often gross film, filled with tongue-in-cheek humor and very rich on cult aspects. Joe Dante's directing is sublime and John Sayles' screenplay ("Alligator", "The Howling") terrifically blends black parody with genuine chills and exciting action. The story is well set in a remote Texas area where the mad scientist Robert Hoak (good supportive role by Kevin McCarthy) is still working on a new secret weapon to use in the Vietnam War, even though it's already over. 'Operation Razorteeth' revolves on artificially bred piranhas that are able to survive in cold saltwater and they reproduce at a dazzling speed. When the perky investigator Maggie (Heather Menzies) and the estranged drunk Paul (Bradford Dillman) accidentally allow these finned flesh-eaters to escape in the local river, it's up to themselves again to save the nearby tourist attractions from the ravenous little monsters. That's certainly not an easy thing to achieve, considering the fact there are many corrupt politicians, businessmen and army commanders who attempt to cover the whole thing up.

"Piranha" is yet another fine example to demonstrate that the 70's were the most outrageous years for horror cinema. The witty script generally steals wholesale from Spielberg's "Jaws", but it's unscrupulous enough to add social mockery and even clean images of innocent children getting slaughtered. Throw in some extra sleaze, camp, absurd characters and stylish music and you've got yourself one of the very rare true American exploitation movies. Like it's pretty much the trademark of director Joe Dante ("The Howling", "Gremlins"), he stuffs his film with cinematic in-jokes and endless references towards other genre classics. The nasty little fishes devour their human victims in gruesome ways and what's left over isn't exactly pretty to look at. Bradford Dillman and Heather Menzies do well as the leads, but its supporting cast in particular that is worth naming. The "Roger Corman" regulars Dick Miller, Kevin McCarthy and Paul Bartel shine as the hypocrite and greedy Texans, but the casting choice that is the most appealing is Barbara Steele as the female scientist Dr. Menders. The pace of the film is good, and while the script shows some holes, the plot usually lasts out. It gets a bit hectic towards the end and Dante would have been better served with less carnage and more tension to give the movie a better finale. The effects are pretty much non-existent, as the movie just uses cuts of fish swimming and a bit of fake blood for most of it's shocks. Still, this is a very fun movie and one that people who enjoy a good time will enjoy.

3 out of 5 stars Hot movie.......2006-07-10

Krista Allen is very hot! This is the main story of this movie.

3 out of 5 stars it's really bad! but with good ol' krista allen it's fun. so that equals o.k........2006-07-08

believe it or not i always like Emmanuelle as a character. she was original, likable and always hot - no matter who played her -
my only problem is that with every movie that ever featured her was they never had another character(s) that were around her that were as intersting or offered anything different tham offering themselves to her. (which was probably the point).
but other than that i always watched the movies even though i knew they were bad and tasteless. i still watched and looked foward to them because they were campy, sexy and always kept a sense of humor about themselves.
so when Krista Allen became Emmanuelle. i was beyond excited. i always liked her. i think she is talented and sexy and always seemed to have a sense of humor and never took herself too seriously. i often thought of her as the thinking man's Carmen Electra. (I heard that those two are actually quite close friends, but Carmen will never be as good as Krista.)
so i thought she would make a great Emmanuelle. and i wasn't disappointed in that respect. i think she made a great one. however, that is really the only good thing i can say about the series.
the acting was terrible (But who really pays attention to that anyway in movies like these.) although there were a couple of stories i kinda believed in, for the most part i could not begin to believe. and except for a few sex scenes i found that aspect of it actually boring and at times distracting for the stories (what stories!) it didn't move them along at all.
I think krista did the best she could. i heard she did not like this experince at all and glad when it was over. and at times i could see that (you could not help it, she made it look so ovious at times.) even her sex scenes were not that great except i did like her scenes with the women. and i felt she did like that. i heard she is partial to women anyway, and whenever i see her either in other movies or in real life like interviews and things like that she seems more comfortable around women.
anyway, i do own the series and even though i pretty much hate it. i do like Krista and she was really the best thing about it.
so if you want to add to your emmanuelle collection or just wanna see a really bad sex miniseries or you just wanna see Krista at her Breast. then i highly recommed it for you Krista and tastless soft porn and emmanuelle fans. other wise stay away from this piece of mindless c**p.

5 out of 5 stars A collection to preserve for the future of man-kind.......2004-11-19

"Emmanuelle in Space" is a great collection, witty, imaginative and it stars Krista Allen. That's enough. She is able and capable of saving any movie in the world.

While this collection is not the best science-fiction epic of all times, it is better than one would expect. After all, we are dealing with soft-core. However, this is a serious effort by a group of dedicated people.

Krista Allen is more than beautiful: she's a marvel of Nature, a total goddess. One thing to add: at her side, Pamela Anderson appears like a so-so-looking, prude virgin.

Krista takes her Emmanuelle character seriously and seems to have a lot of fun with it. That's very enjoyable too. She's not a dumb actress exploiting her looks. Her work is remarkable. But mostly, I would say every real, hot-blooded male should buy this collection because it's not only unique, it's exceptional. Forget all negatives, Krista is the thing to see.

By the way, she did appear in one episode of "The X-files" and she was sensational.

Currently, Krista Allen appears as herself in the popular HBO series "Unscripted." As usual, she does a great job.

I should mention her co-star in this collection, Paul Michael Robinson. He is a very good actor and a great conterpart to Krista's character. Both are a joy to watch and there is a lot of good humor in the script.

Go ahead and buy it. This collection is wonderful!

4 out of 5 stars Krista Alley is Wonderful.......2004-03-21

Begin with the alien climate Krista teaches the alien to do sex. She is acting as the love teacher. In this movie many soft porn scene will make you lust and know more about the making love. The various styles on doing sex in this scene will make you understand about the good sex. It's a good movie for the new couple or for the couple who has boring with your current sex live. Try this and I guaranty you will have a new sex live

4 out of 5 stars One hand on the remote........2004-03-13

This is a seriously good movie... if you are into holding your remote with one hand. Know what I am sayin? I mean c'mon , watch movies like Shawshank Redemption or even Citizen Kane for a true movie experience. Watch Emanuelle to get your Palmela Handerson on.

"Do your parents know you're Ramones?" With those withering words, Miss Togar (Mary Woronov), the uptight neofascist principal of Vince Lombardi High School, addresses the four mop-haired, leather-jacketed members of America's first and most famous punk band. And you know it won't be long before the Ramones's jackhammer riffs are blaring through the public address system at maximum volume, the kids are running--not walking--wild in the hallways (without passes!), and Miss Togar's gulag is re-christened "Rock 'n' Roll High School." Then, in keeping with the outrageously nihilistic animus of punk, the high school students and the Ramones just blow the place to smithereens. It's a crowd- pleasing, fantasy-fulfillment climax that combines the apocalyptic finale of Michelangelo Antonioni's Zabriskie Point with the explosive conclusion of Alice Cooper's "School's Out." Rock 'n' Roll High School is a blast, a goofy and liberating salute to the rebel spirit behind the teen rock & roll movies of the 1950s, which always pitted the kids' insatiable appetite for fun against the adults' fear-based authoritarianism. The film is emblematic of the disarmingly silly, tongue-in-cheek humor of the youth-oriented B-pictures cranked out in the '50s and '60s by renowned low-budget exploitation mogul Roger Corman (who gave many a hungry young filmmaker, including the creators of this film, their start in the biz), and of the noisy, anarchic energy of '70s punk rock, as personified by the inimitable Ramones. In the words of the maestros' beach-blanket-buzz-saw title anthem, this movie is "Fun, fun, oh baby, fun, fun..." --Jim Emerson

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars 70s cult classic.... .......2007-04-28

This is a funny movie with an outstanding soundtrack (Devo, Brian Eno, Nick Lowe and not on the soundtrack album, Velvet Underground..Mary Woronov was also part of Warhol's Factory), and the actors are camping it up big time. Clint Howard (brother of Ron Howard) is hilarious in it.

Old school punk rockers will see some of the Germs in the movie.

The actual high school is El Segundo and the live music at the Roxy in LA.

As far as rock films go, this one works, the Ramones goofing on themselves. It does have some drug scenes in it that are somewhat innocent (Riff getting stoned and the Ramones serenading to her in her bedroom is hilarious) But it's intentionally D-U-M-B.

This exposed The Ramones to a mainstream audience that either got it or didn't, and the songs in the film weren't any of the dark ones like "53rd and 3rd".

This was shown on cable countless times in the early 80s, I think this is the third repackage, but it's got a lot of stuff in it, unfortunately only one of the Ramones contributed, as 3 of them have passed away, and they broke up in '96 under less than great circumstances.

Hopefully this will get back in the midnight movie circuit in some cities.

5 out of 5 stars Rock and Roll High School.......2007-01-19

This DVD was exactly as advertised and arrived when promised.

5 out of 5 stars it is a classic .......2007-01-07

It is a classic. A must for any Ramones fan.

5 out of 5 stars A CrAzY, FUNNY, COOL REBEL 70'S ROCK MOVIE!!!!!!!!.......2006-08-28

MAN, I ALWAYS HATED SCHOOL!!!! I glad that in this movie the students TEAR IT APART!!!! and not only that!, the kids smoke pot, smell coke and they invite THE RAMONES to their school so they can "ROCK N' BLOW"!!!!

In this movie you hear a lot of cool rocking soundtracks like Alice Cooper's SCHOOL'S OUT and Brownville Station's SMOKING IN THE BOYS ROOM but the main soundtracks were the RAMONES's in their concert scene. The movie also tells that ROCK is about breaking the rules and going crazy!

Im a 70's fan and a ROCK fan! so for me this movie is VERY SPECIAL!! Another movies like this are Detroit Rock City and Dazed and Confused.

P.S: The ONLY defects of the movie are the audio witch wasn't THAT good and the PG rating witch is wrong! This movie should be rated PG-13 because of the brief nudity and drug use.

Adios.

4 out of 5 stars would have given it five stars but it's non-anamorphic!.......2006-07-17

the box clearly says anamorphic widescreen; that's why I bought it to play on my new widescreen TV. it's not, it's non-anamorphic letterbox so instead of it filling the whole screen, it's now a postage stamp in the middle of my screen. what a gyp! how bout it Buena Vista, where's the enhanced widescreen disc?

other than that, this a pretty cool movie. i've got most of the ramones albums and it's a lot of fun watching them play live. movie recommended, but a word of warning to widescreen TV owners!

Fans who are looking for the best Krista Allen flick in the Emmanuelle series (and there is no other reason to buy one) need to buy this one. It is the only one that is ALL Krista ALL the time.

And if you are not a Krista Allen fan yet, then you REALLY need to buy it!

4 out of 5 stars Not Much of a Story.......2002-01-21

This episode pretty much has Hafron and Emmanuelle teleporting to different parts of the world and "doing it". There is the continuing plot from an earlier episode of some group on Earth trying to track them down. That's the main reason for Emmanuelle and Hafron to jump to different parts of the world. Otherwise, this episode is mostly sex scenes.

2 out of 5 stars The Ultimate @ss Wipe.......2005-08-19

Give me a break. This is the hokiest plot I have ever seen, read or dreamed of. The Ultimate Attraction is in reality the ultimate ca-ca. Example: The story starts out where a guy locked in an airplane restroom flushes a device which looks like a combination of a TV remote control and a pocket cassette recorder down the toilet, where it is discharged outside the airplane and falls through the roof of a health club and lands on a stack of towels, next to and in a closet, where a gorgeous babe (Gabriella Hall) and some numb nut guy are fornicating. Does anybody hear the device crashing through the roof? No! Do the amorous couple notice it dropping onto the shelf next to them or notice there is now a hole in the roof? No!

Lo and behold, the lovers eventually notice the object from the sky and start fooling around with it. You know, turning dials and aiming it and guess what it makes a gal on one of the exercise machines get stimulated and have an orgasm.

I should mention that the Health Club is in default with the bank and unless thirty thousand buckeroos are raised within the next three weeks it will be foreclosed upon and so these employees decide they can use this little machine to increase membership, raise the thirty thousand for their boss and save the club and of course, their sexual rendezvous location.

Their plan seems to be working, a little stimulation here and there and everybody is really digging it but then something goes wrong and pretty soon the clientele is going at it like rabbits in heat. Clothes are slung around everywhere and everybody is engaged and in some state of undress.

If this movie is so bad, why did I give it two stars? Well I never said the movie was terrible, just the story. Nobody really expects the stories for soft porn movies to very good and this story was one of the worst but on the flip side for a movie showing attractive people in various states of undress, depicting gratuitous sex, which is what most soft core movies are like, this movie wasn't bad. I guess it depends on what you're looking for and if you're looking a profound story in a sensual soft core movie, you're in the wrong genre. Ultimate Attraction was a soft porn movie with an abominable plot, that was otherwise typical of the genre. I didn't pay much attention to the guys (except for the geek that was with Gabriella Hall) but the girls were great looking with nice bodies, especially Gabriella Hall, Jacqueline Lovett and Jennifer Burton.

If you are looking for a good movie in the so called light erotic/comedic vein, there are better movies around but if you just want to see some good looking guys and gals in the altogether, it delivers. Final Rating 2.2 stars

4 out of 5 stars A movie based on Milo Manara's graphic novel series: "Click".......2005-05-19

Closer to 3 and a half stars than 4 (3.65).

A rather short unrated adult "comedy" based on the series of adult graphic novels by Milo Manara that go under the name "Click." Lots of nudity and "action." The film is also known as: "Click: The Ultimate Attraction," and "Click: The Body Beautiful." The movie has a copyright of 2002, but there are a series of 7 90 minute TV movies that were made in 1997 based on "Click", and "Ultimate Attraction" might be one of those TV movies.

DVD Features: The DVD contains the movie, biographies, and available hits (4 trailers including "Ultimate Attraction," "Midnight Tease 2," "Knocking on Death's Door," and "Emmanuelle: First Contact.")

Credits: Stars: Gabriella Hall (Linda - trainer; "Erotic Misadventures of the Invisible Man" and over 30 other films and TV series), David Chielens (Ben), Nina Leichtling (Margo; "Anywhere but Here"), Jacqueline Lovell (Susan; "Lolita 2000"), Rick Jordan (Ted Fields; "Click: For the Love of the Click"), Robert Donovan (William Haywood - spa owner; "Shadow Dancer") and Taylor St.Claire (New Linda). The director is Rafael Glenn. Interesting, it would appear that financing came from Ireland-Holland-France & the USA.

Plot: A failing gym/spa tries to keep in business, and keep from being taken over, by using an electronic device to make customers very very "excited." The device literally fell from the sky, dropped through the toilet by a man trying to prevent its capture by the police.

Review: Unlike the other movie that I have reviewed based on a Manara series; I've read the "Click" series of books. While both the movie and the books use an electronic device, the books require an actual implantation of a receiver into the brain. The movie does not require this operation for the device to cause an individual to be infected by "adult happy" vibes. Both include at least one prudish woman that is "changed." The "victim" was the "good" person in the book, not the manipulators like in the movie. This movie does not really have the feel of a Manara book (though the books aren't all great). And unlike that other movie, this one jumps immediately into nudity and "adult fun time."

The movie feels a lot longer than it actually is because the "adult fun" nude scenes just go on way too long, and actually becomes a little boring (it has to say something that I found myself fast forwarding through the overly long nude scenes, and there's at least one scene that I didn't fast forward through more because of the music than the action; and several of the "good" scenes are fuzzy or foggy). That and there is a lot less "mainstream" scenes in this movie than there probably should be. The movie does seem to be a step above a movie with just nude scenes with filler, but it isn't that far away from that type of movie.

Some of the acting isn't that bad, some is like something like you might find on a soap opera, and some is quite bad (though one on of the stars obviously knows how to act). I believe this film occurred after "Erotic Misadventures of the Invisible Man." If I'm right, then Hall's acting has regressed (and maybe shows why she stars in these types of movies and gets bit parts in mainstream movies). The plot is very thin, nothing more than a means to have nudity and adult fun. The humor is quite thin in this adult comedy, though there appear to be parts that seem as if they are supposed to be funny. The sound made by the active device is very irritating. Most of the women are attractive, and while it is harder for me to tell, most of the men seem to fall into the less attractive category (at least two might fall into the handsome category). Hall is a rather attractive woman, a "real" looking woman (other than the overly endowed top (that's before the "large balloons" gag, during which she is gigantic, clothed, but gigantic, at which point her "natural" size doesn't look as large)), but she does appear to be a little too fleshy to be an overly tight/fit fitness trainer, like she is supposed to be. The film inserts some common San Francisco scenes to remind the audience that the film is supposed to occur in that city. Overall, starts slow and some of the scenes are just too long. (3.65)

3 out of 5 stars You'll like it.......2005-04-17

This movie seems fun and enjoyable. It's a good find if it is unrated and you are all alone in your house. A quiet night with yourself. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Who the heck cast the male lead for this movie???.......2003-06-20

I think he's a Hispanic guy of some sort, but he's so unfunny and geeky I just fast-forwarded all of his speaking parts. (Mind you these movies are not unfamiliar with the fast-forward button... Yao Ming?)
Regardless, what's her face is sexy as usual, but when she transforms and goes into the sauna with another chick and... well I DON'T WANNA RUIN ANYTHING... but yeah. They don't just talk about the weather.
The unrated version shows some shlongs which I really didn't need to see, but hey you can use it as an excuse to show your girlfriend.
I thought the best scene was the scene where the gym owner gets some of the female antagonist in his office. It is a really hot and steamy scene... very believable.
Some of the girls are a bit ugly side (check out the one in the juice-pouring part) and some of the guys in the cast are just boys (see the exercise bike scene) which I thought was a bit strange.
A mixed bag with questionable casting but some good, memorable softcore/semi-hardcore scenes.

5 out of 5 stars Funny and enjoyable.......2002-06-26

Fantastic DVD, definitely not rated....Nice girls, funny. Must own one yourself before out of print.

5 out of 5 stars Queen of Outer Space.......2006-08-07

Emmanuelle gets elected to become the captain of a group of strange, space men and women from a distant galazy, led by Haffron, a cute guy who knows next to nothing about sex. Haffron has a sort of Patrick Swayze looks and must come from some kingdom too poor to buy any underwear. Emmanuelle, ever playful, has had a showdown with her earth boyfriend, Philip, not a bad sort but a jealous fellow who won't let her explore her sense of adventure. With this in mind, she has sex with Haffron as they perform monitored with a hundred wires which allow the rest of the crew to monitor their bodily sensations.

What can Emmanuelle, a lovely girl played by the incomparable Kirsta Allen, teach a bunch of overeducated, brainiac space creatures? Well, first off, none of them have ever had sex since in their nation, to procreate one must simply slough oneself in two, and that's how children are made, therefore there has n ever ben a need for sex. Bowever, Haffron so enjoys the earthly delights of Emmanuelle that he becomes a sex addict sort of, and poses as Emmanuelle's brother as she returns to earth to confront jealous Philip, who, as it happens, is giving his missing fiancee a taste of her own medicine by throwing a wild orgiastic party. She twitches her nose and changes out of Krista Allen's body into another (so that Phil won't recognize her) and attempts to seduce him to test her theory that he's a cheater, while Haffron tries to pick up different [...] at the party. They succeed and the two couples have sex in adjoining rooms. Dumb old Haffron picks up a "professional" who asks him for $200. "What's 'money'?" he asks in his inane royal hiccup. When he drops his pants her eyes widen and she rushes right over. "Never mind, this is a freeby!" she announces.

In space, Emmanuelle accepts the thanks of the space people for treating Haffron so well, but says that even becoming their queen won't satisfy her need for travelling to Egypt so they better let her abdicate. Instead, they accept all her conditions, and allow her to go on her planned barge down the Nile on a swinging singles cruise. Haffron accompanies her, telling her he loves her and to prove it, he says, that even if she changes her body for another female passenger, he will still know it's her, instantly. Farcically he fails to identify her and beds four other women, all of them charming and witty and nubile, but none of them really up to Krista Allen's gold standards.

Badly shot on cheap video stock, but highly recommended nevertheless. FIRST CONTACT's a winner all the way through.

3 out of 5 stars Another Spacey Softcore Flick.......2006-01-19

I'm not sure what everybody is up in arms about. I watched the movie a few hours ago and saw plenty of Kirsta Allen, though, except in the beginning, she was mostly dressed. I think the reason, is the version I watched, which I rented from Café DVD, was unrated. Anyway the other girls were nothing sneeze at and though the sex scenes could have been more sensual there were plenty of them. Overall I thought Emmanuelle in Space - First Contact was an average soft porn flick. Hence the three star rating but only the unrated version.

5 out of 5 stars What are we talking about here people.......2002-12-18

Now if any of you have ever read one of my reviews you know that I take movies at face value. I don't read into them... I don't look to them for hidden meaning or anything like that. That being said why are we trying to find quality in porn. I know this might come as a shock to you all but this is porn... soft-core safe for the teenager in you porn. Nothing more. Saying that I'm disappointed in this movie is like saying that the production value of the hardcore movies is terrible. Why... Why waste your time reviewing this...get what you need out of it (and you all know what I mean) and move on

2 out of 5 stars not so great :(.......2001-05-13

i wasn't happy with this movie...i should have listened to the reviews. there was hardly any krista allen at all. i was expecting something along the lines of the uncut emmanuelle movies ms. allen had done back in 95 and 96. i have all 7 of these unedited movies. each movie is 90 minutes in length and there's a total is 7 movies for a grand total of 10 and a half hours of krista!...

3 out of 5 stars Dissapointing.......2000-10-14

I have waited so long to see this movie and i was very disapointed with it. The only thing good about it was Krista Allen and she was hardly in the movie. The sex sceens werent even that great. There were very dull and boring. Very bad r rated version and im not sure if the unrated is much more. Im glad i didnt spend movie to buy this. If you want to see a good Emmanuelle movie see Emmanuelle 5 the best of all.
