Having read much about ESP research in the Soviet Union, read some books on
Remote viewing (Psychic Warrior, I recommend) and coming across at least on 1 occasion a public recognition by a sitting US President (Jimmy Carter) on the contribution of Remote Viewers (within the intelligence community) in at least 1 case, I was hooked. I was looking for material that wasn't just detailing some history. I knew that already. I was looking for more. I wanted to be part of it. Nothing seemed to fit the bill...until.. Gold Standard. Here it was..history.. by the very people who made it happen and the CDs that accompany the program that give the guidance to those that want to try. Not to the debunkers (nothing will convince them!) but to the believers and even those sitting on the wall. NOTHING LIKE IT OUT THERE.

After being disappointed again and again by material I have purchased on remote viewing, I came across Stephan Schwartz's Gold Standard Course. If you really want to know the truth about how this ability actually was developed, as opposed to the fanciful stories and phony claims that seem to be the substance of most accounts, the Gold Standard is for you. Buy this set! And if you really want to learn how to do it yourself I have not found anything better than this compendium course Stephan has put together. He has all the significant figures you read about over and over, but never actually hear, all in one collection. But for me the real strength of the gold standard course is in the CDs that take you through the experiences just as if you were in one of the RV labs, and had a master teacher gently guiding you along. Using the "Remote Viewing" CD I finally was able to understand how to remote view successfully, by actually remote viewing, thanks to the step-by-step walk through the CD provides. But that is not my favorite, as good as it is. I have had a chronic illness and have found the "Healing" CD particularly helpful. This CD helps you to view your own body and then to stimulate your own healing powers. It has been wonderful.

Stephan's Gold Standard course is educational, insightful and entertaining. I was fortunate enough to attend his annual SchwartzReport conference at the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, where he brought together the original experts in the field of remote viewing. This course is an incredible distillation of more than 30 years worth of their combined experience. If you are interested in learning about remote viewing, it just doesn't get any better than this.

Learn Remote Viewing from its Masters.......2005-06-25

This is a truly fine course in remote viewing-both what it is and how to learn to do it-but it is a lot more than that. Stephan Schwartz has been involved in remote viewing from its modern beginnings, working at about the same time with his own separate research program as the now famous military funded remote viewing program. In the fall of 2003, he organized and assembled a conference at the A.R.E. Headquarters in Virginia Beach where he brought together most of the greatest names in remote viewing history: Ingo Swann, Hal Puthoff, Russell Targ, and many more. I attended this conference and heard all the speakers. The 10 DVD's included in this set provide a record of these illuminating presentations by the founders and masters of the subject. The production work is excellent and certainly is studio quality. I was there, and these videos bring you closer to the speakers than people sitting in the front row. There is nothing else available like this at any price. For example, Hal Puthoff's talk is the very best review of the history of the SRI remote viewing program that I have ever seen. He should know, since he founded the program and led the work.

On the 5 CD's that come with the course, you will find everything you need in order to learn how to do remote viewing yourself. On the first CD, Schwartz explains what remote viewing is and how to do it. He covers the selection of targets, protocols, analysis, and feedback. As something of a bonus, a short but excellent discussion is included of how to do meditation, which tends to enhance remote viewing results. There are guided sessions to lead you through several remote viewing experiences with various sorts of "targets": different locations, different times, classic outbound remote viewing, and sensing another person. The second and third CD's take you through time, one to the time before you were born and the other into the future to the year 2050. The fourth CD guides you into remote viewing as an aid to health and healing. The fifth contains a number of PDF files that are helpful for recording results of remote viewing sessions and keeping records.

With this course, you can learn all about remote viewing through time and space: its history, its uses, and how to do it. It is a wonderful set of material and I highly recommend it. In addition, Stephan Schwartz has written some fascinating books on the history of remote viewing and its use in archaeology over the last hundred years or so (The Secret Vaults of Time) and on his own experience taking a remote viewing team to Egypt to do archaeological work (The Alexandria Project). These are also extremely good, and I recommend them to anyone with an interest in remote viewing. Schwartz is a master of the topic and of how to teach it to others.

Composed entirely of heavily-edited weekend (one day ?) courses in a Ramada conference room somewhere, the presentation is primarily anecdotal in nature, loosely following the outline of a Power Point presentation. Lyn initially seemed especially unprepared for the event, having to back-up a few times within the first four or five minutes of the presentation to explain things that should have been explained first. The other problem he has with public speaking is confusing two terms, and stumbling over them both one after the other - an annoying habit to an attentive student like myself

Disc 1 (''Basic : Remote Viewing'') - This disc fails to include even a cursory review of RV (unless you consider a comparison of ''the terms used by Lyn vs. the terms used by Ingo'' a review of RV), and can by no means be considered a substitute for an introductory course. As it turns out, this disc is mainly geared toward basic Remote Influencing concepts, which I wasn't terribly interested in, to be honest. My expectation was that I could learn the basics of RV and ignore the RI portions - an entirely mistaken assumption on my part

Disc 2 (''Advanced : Remote Influencing'') - Even less structured, and less focused than the first disc. Expands on the first disc primarily by means of personal rumination, some of which is also included in the first disc (such as the ''Secret Factory'') further underscoring of the lack of RV training on disc 1

If you are interested in learning RV you'd be well advised to skip this one - it will never be an important part of that learning curve

A Word From the Producer.......2006-03-01

As one of the people who created Remote Viewing, as well as one of the producers of this netowrk prime time special, I want to respond to Webshaman's review. All of the cases reported in this program involve Remote Viewing. It is not explicitly discussed because the program is, as it was described, a presentation of how the ability to open to nonlocal awareness affected these cases. It is the case not the specifics of the process that are emphasized. This is a television program not a video course. For that take a look at The Gold Standard Course, which covers the history of Remote Viewing, as well as the "how to" aspects. As to the accuracy of the accounts in Psychic Detectives, to the approval of ABC's Standards and Practices Department every word in the script, and every image on the screen, had to be supported by two sources, drawn only from a limited list: Forensic evidence, sworn testimony, on the record statements by court officers, and law enforcement officers. No media coverage was permitted as a source. I am quite comfortable in saying that these accounts accurately represent what actually happened.

If Webshaman would care to return his disk, we will be happy to refund his money.

It is obvious that the seller of this DVD knows how popular a subject that remote viewing has become. I make that statement as an explanation, the only one that I can think of as to why he would LIE SO BLATANTLY about the contents of the DVD. In the description of the DVD, it claims to have 5 cases that were solved by the assistance of 5 remote viewers. There were in fact 5 cases studies and they were perhaps solved by the psychics who worked on those cases. BUT NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THOSE PSYCHICS WAS A REMOTE VIEWER! THERE WASN'T EVEN A DISCUSSION OF REMOTE VIEWING ON THE DVD! I specifically purchased the DVD because of my interest in remote viewing. I even debated as to whether I should pay the hefty price of $24.95 NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING COSTS, to satisfy my interest. It is an understament to say that I am disappointment. To say that I am shocked is far more accurate. Shocked that anyone would be so deceitful, knowing that he is selling to a clientele that trusts the integrity of the Amazon.com market place. It is an equal black eye to Amazon.com that this shameless act of theft occured on its web site. I HAVE BEEN ROBBED!

About a decade or so ago, I was deep in meditation when I somehow had an ephiphany; I was mant to be here from the very beginning. The universe somehow had need of me to be here; that I wasn't a fluke of nature, or God's mistake, or an "accident"...like I was told when I was younger and more open to what others told me (good or bad).

And then I had another ephiphany and that was EVERYONE that is here or was here or will be here is meant to be. Now this may seem like a juvenille insight to some, but to me it was staggering because sometimes I like to think that Life makes an occasional mistake or two; I mean, hello? Hitler? Saadam Hussein? Bin Laden? David Hasseloff..just kidding, Dave...

I think we were all born for a grand purpose. I think we decided from the very beginning to be the people we are now. We even chose the events and the experiences that we were going to encounter during our lifetime. But then we get here...and we fall into a deep, deep sleep.

Remember, it says in the Bible that Adam fell into a deep sleep...it never mentioned him waking up...and we're represenatives of that "Adam" consciousness...we fall into a sleep and forget that we don't just have a soul...WE ARE THE SOUL...

So a few of us decide to maybe wake up a bit...we start meditating, we learn how to forgive a little more, we let go of things that no longer serve us, but still there is a deep yearning tucked deep into our minds and our hearts that we are here not simply to make things nice and pleasant, we are here to help the world TRANSFORM and TRANSCEND...

This CD really relaxed me and got me in touch with a deeper aspect of myself. It is only about 20 minutes and a bit pricey, but it did, from the get-go, but me in a much deeper place than I was before. Of course, I entered into the session with those kind of expectations and we usually get what we expect to get.

I recommend this CD for its content, but I still think the price is a little high for what you are actually getting. I am sure that there are other guided meditational CDs that are far less in price and can also help you to connect with your Higher Purpose or you can simply create your own which is what I am currently doing with the limited technology I possess; a boombox with a tapeplayer and a microphone...(no, not Mr. Microphone..."Hey, babe we'll be back to pick you up later...") I've had a few duds attempting to do this, but I've also had some successes, as well.

You see, it's YOUR VOICE that comes from YOUR SOUL that ultimately empowers you because your voice stems from what is within your soul. So should you buy it...mmmm...listen to your soul...what is it telling you?

Good info, the first 2 were a bit slow/boring.......2006-06-25

This was a lecture series presented in Las Vegas, June 15-17 2001 w/only the use of an overhead. The camera mostly stayed on the speaker or the overhead. The quality of the sound could be better. The menu of the 3 disks was subdivided into chapters for both lectures of each disk.
Disk 1, 112 min total.
Vol 1: The first lecture w/Gabrelle was the history of RV (1960s pop culture & military use in USA & Soviet Union), describing RV, mental noise (distractions or being biased by outside influences or your own imagination), types of RV (it's not astral projection or out of body experiences), Why learn it? (helps you with day to day), examples of past sessions & 1 simple try of your own guessing what the picture she will use. She is a bit monotoned & boring (which she admits she is even with RV).
Vol 2: Has Patrick Marsolek describing action & receptive mode (left or right brain), a Princton Pyschologist, the importance of awareness (self explainitory), maintaining mental states (not that in depth)& states of consciousness. He also spoke slowly & the lecture plodded on & is a hypnotist also in Montana.
So far I haven't learn anything except the history of RV.
Disk 2, total of 131 min.
Vol 1: Pam Coronado does a 5 min picture tribute to Alan Vaughan, his many papers, pyschic studies & statistics on them, precognition & a min or 2 Q&A. She was more emotional about the tribute & better speaker, more earnest, the stitistics was interesting.
Vol 2: Dick Allgire talks about the importantance of location in RV (knowing where you are if blindfolded, target contact (finding people/things on maps), what is an 05-D?, great circle Azimuths (the scientific way to use points of origin to find fixed location), Velver examples. This was all about studies how well RVs found things such as people & landmarks. This is mostly how they use scientic data to do it which needs multiple people. Dick is a viewer himself & seems charming.
Disk 3, total of 121 min.
Vol 1: Lyn Buchanan (ret. army) talks about RV training (not your fault if you can't do it if someone jsut says "go with it"), obstacles students encounter fear of failure), course materials, CRV method, rating the target. Lyn seems very down to earth, matter of fact & bored me the least.
Vol 2: Paul Smith talks more about psychology & left/right brain how being pyschic is just being able to be consciously aware of more then the usual 1% the average person is consciously aware from sight, sound, etc. If we were aware of 100% of all of that, we'd never get anything done & have sensory overload, which he said was like agent orange. More about that the left brain tries to complete things, tries to assume what you see is so & so & is usually wrong. Sketching brings out the more acurate right brain that gets the extra info like a picture flashed a split second that you don't consioucly see. He also goes into how information can be tarnished by outside distractions & left brain.
The last DVD I think people would get the most out of as I stated what I remember most & learned most from the dvd.
