Longest hour of my life.......2005-05-16

Green Day being my favorite band for the past 5 years I figured it was high time I buy this DVD. Boy was I wrong. Possibly the most boring biography I've ever sat through. The first thing that comes on when you put the DVD in the player is a screen that says "This DVD contains no music performed by Green Day" Thats great isn't it, we're 30 seconds into this DVD and it already blows. So in the beginning it shows a meaningless 30 seconds clip of Green Day talking about things not even related to the DVD, sweet! Not. Then for the next hour you sit through other people talking about Green Day. Well I didn't buy the DVD to hear other people talk about Green Day, I wanted to see some Green Day! So nearing the end of this hour long snore fest Green Day comes on again. Only to close the DVD with the SAME 30 second clip of them talking which is still completely unrelated to anything that happened in the DVD.

Save your money, not only is it over priced but it took quite some time to finally get here. Bottom line is I feel pretty stupid and I think my IQ dripped out of my ear while I watched this.

Well I wouldn't have spent $... at the DVD store if I knew it would be this. I mean, it should have had more interviews with them in it. I thought it would be like "Urethra Chronicles" from Blink-182 where there was like soo much of the band and actually had their music. I would've fell asleep watching this if I wasn't such a Green Day fan. Buy "International Superhits".. you'll acually get to hear and see the band instead of this british lady as the narrator and unheard-of people (b-sides Op Ivy singer Jesse Micheals) for an hour.

No-Go Paradise..........2003-01-10

After recieving "Pogo Paradise" earlier this morning I was looking forward to setling down in front of the TV. Where as most of the pre-realease hype was that the Interview was "Behind The Scenes" and Interviews with Green Day, there is very little to zilch of either.

This could have been something really special, documenting the rise of green day from lowly bay area punks to international rock stars with interviews from people who actually knew something about the band, or even Billie Joe, Mike, and Tré personally. Instead we get an assortment of nobodies (with the exception of Operation Ivy frontman Jesse Michaels) who appear to know next to nothing about the best band in the world, and aren't afraid to show it. There's a 60-minute documentarty, featuring about 2 minutes of Green Day, precisely 0 minutes of Green Day music or live shows. (I am well aware of the copyright issues regarding that, but surely it muct have been worth the money to vastly improve the quality of this frankly poor cash in on Green Day's success and quality. A shame.)

When Jesse Michaels shows you where Green Day lived before Dookie blew up (where the Longview video was filmed, and where Billie Joe annilaited the couch.) Those two bits are by far the most interesting, as the rest is mainly opinions and not facts.
